In my opinion he's very underrated compared to Homer Simpson who has become overrated over the past 20 years when Family Guy just started. I love Peter more in the later seasons than the earlier seasons. The first 3 seasons tried too hard replicating the Simpsons which was probably one of the main reasons why Family Guy got canceled twice in the earlier run. I was so happy they dropped the Simpsons vibe in season 4-present and became its own identity after that.
