Why is the United Nations facing financial crises in the present days?
Im not sure that the UN isfacing financial crisis, but i am sure that Russia is creating enough conflict around the world to raise a need to invest more in defences. Ukrine, Crimea, North Pole, threats to EU with new missiles, syria, Venezuela, etcI dont think it is likely to fire a shot or start a war, but they will continue to create havoc politically, and economically where ever they can.
What area of the sun actually ends up shining on the earth, i.e. is it one square kilometer of the sun that spreads out to heat the earth, is it less or more?
50% of the dhines on the earth. This isbevause the other 50% of tgeSun at any given moment isfacing away from the earth . So to prove this get a welders helmut or other suitanle lens through which you can observe the Sun without damaging your eyes. Also you will need a piece of cardboard with a straight edge. It can be any material as lo g as ithasa straught edge and you can hold it in your hand. A gew inches in length and width. Now while looking at thebsun through your protective lens gradually block the sun with your cardboard or piece of tin or whatever. As you can see it doesn’t matter what part of the sun you leave uncovered you will see it. If you see it, it is sending light and radiation to you. So the only part of the sun that isn’t sending warmth light and radiation to you is the 50% of the sun that is facing away from you. It is as simple as that.
How can I make my own recycled paper?
Recycling your own paper is a tough task. I have not triedit personally, though read and researched about the best practices to completesuch task:Well! Be patient and focused for starters. You certainly cancreate your own recycled paper at home.Let’s refer to our memory lanes and refer our waste-managementclass in school. Idea is pulping and drying scraps of used paper. This process is an act of transfiguring and re-purposingsomething to avoid throwing it away. And that is my friend, is Recycling.Ok! Is it too scary to start…alright we will keep it supercool…Step1: The good news is that most of the materials is alreadyavailable with you (P.S. Process is easier than it sounds)Contents:·Waste/Scraps of Paper ( More is always goo)·Hot Water/ Water( room-temp)·Dishpan, a baking pan, or a wide, shallow bucket·Spatula to stir·Blender/ Mixture (optional)·Tea-spoon for measurements·Cornstarch (optional)·Wooden Picture frame (optional)·Screen·Thin fabric or plastic sheetStep2: Gather the desired waste paper you wish to recycle.(Tip: The texture and color of the old paper that yourepurpose will directly inform the quality of the "finished" recycledpaper.)Source: Printer paper, Newspaper, Clean napkins or tissues,Photocopier paper, Wrapping paper, Brown paper, Lined or Notebook paperNote: Paper will shrink and contract through the soaking anddrying process, Always use more scrap paper than the amount of recycled paperthat you want to create.(Tip: Ratio is 5:2 i.e. Five sheets of newspaper shouldproduce 2 small sheets of recycled paper. This may vary depending on type andthickness of the paper that we are going to pulp.Note: If you want your recycled paper to be"plain" with a consistent color, be mindful of the variety of scrapsthat you use.If you use mostly white paper scraps, for instance, yourfinished product will more closely resemble a standard piece of printer paper.Step3: Shred that Paper J…Rip up paper scraps into small, fairly equally-sized pieces.( Tip: the finer, the better. If the pieces are large, thenthe finished product will be jumbled and chunky. Try putting the pages througha shredder, then grinding or ripping the shredded pieces into even smallerbits.)Step 4: Now as the finely ground-up scraps is ready, placeinto a dish or a pan, and fill the container with hot water. Stir the mixtureto ensure that all of the paper is thoroughly soaked. Leave the paper to stewfor a few hours, stirring occasionally.(Tip: Consider adding a few tablespoons of cornstarch aftera few hours to firm up the consistency. This step is not mandatory, althoughsome recycled paper crafters swear by it. If you add cornstarch, stir itthoroughly into the mix, and add a bit of hot water to aid the soaking.)Step 5: After a few hours, place 3 handfuls of the soggypaper mixture into the blender.Fill the blender about half-full with water. Turn on theblender in short bursts to break up the paper into mush.Step 6: When the paper is ready to use, it will have the mushytexture of cooked oatmeal. If you don't own a blender, then shredding and soakingshould suffice. However, this added act of mechanical pulping will make yourfinished product much smoother.Step 7: You will use this device to strain the wet pulp, filtering the water from the clumps of paper. When the paper mush dries ontothe screen, it will gradually congeal into recycled paper.(Tip: it's important that the dimensions of the screen matchthe size of the paper sheet that you want to create. A cut-out piece of windowscreen is ideal here – roughly 8 inches by 12 inches, or as large as you like.)Step 8:Try to fit a border around the screen to hold in thepulp. An old wooden picture frame will do, but you can also glue or staple thinpieces of wood around the outside of the screen to make your own"frame."If the screen is made from metal, be sure that it is notrusty. The rust may stain your paper.Step9: Use a pan. It should be at least 4-6 inches deep.Pour the pulp into the pan until it is about halfway full.Step 10: Add water until the mixture is 3-4 inches deep. Thepan should be mostly full, but not so much that the addition of the screen willmake the pulp-and-water mixture spill over.Step 11: Slide it into the bottom of the pan so that it laysbeneath all of the water and pulp.Step 12: Gently slide the screen back and forth through themixture to break up any clumps. Then, lift the screen straight up.Step 13: The pulp should be spread evenly in a thin layer ontop of the screen.( Tip: Alternately, lay the screen into the bottom of thepan before you add the water and pulp. Then, pour the paper pulp over thescreen. When you lift the screen out of the water, it should still sift out thepulp from the liquid.)Step 14: Make sure that the paper-side of the screen isfacing up and away from the towel. The sifting process alone will not strainout all of the moisture.Step 15: The pulp will still need at least another hour todrain. Leave it to dry, and do not disturb it.Step 16: After an hour has passed, lay a piece of sheet oranother thin fabric on top of the pulp on the screen.Step 17: Press down firmly on the sheet with a dry sponge tosqueeze out all the excess water from the paper pulp.Step 18:The goal is to transfer the paper from the screen tothis sheet. The sheet should be flat, clean, dry, and unwrinkled so that it isa suitable mold for your paper.Step 19: The paper should release onto the sheet. Lay it ona flat surface to dry overnight, or for a few hours at minimum.Step 20: Keep it in a warm, dry place. Try not to place thedrying paper under direct heat, or very close to a powerful heating source. This might cause the paper to crinkle and dry unevenly.Step 21: When the paper pulp is dry, carefully peel it awayfrom the Fabric. You should now have a sheet of dry, firmly-pressed, functionalpaper! If it works, you can use the same equipment to produce as much recycledpaper as you like.Step22: Also I would recommend you test the recycled sampleby checking whether you can write on the paper with pencil and pen to evaluateits quality.Parameters:·Is it absorbent enough?·Whether it is clear enough to see the words?·Whether it will hold up as a durable andpassable sheet of paper?·Estimations: if you find the paper grit toorough- reason may be that you didn't grind up the pulp finely.·Some clues: If paper is falling apart, reasonmay be that enough water is not used to bind the paper fibers together. Its recommended everywhere that If you plan to make more recycledpaper, take notes on this batch so that you can improve your product next time.Happy recycling! You may also check this interesting link on You-tube, could be a tutorial and may take you through each step better:
