PDF Editor FAQ

What is the weightage of different chapters in the NEET and JEE Physics paper?

1 Basic Mathematics: No Question in physics is ever asked directly from this chapter. But without this chapter you can’t learn Physics. Graphs, meaning of differentiation and the element which is taken for integration and finally the limits of integration are very important. If these topics are very strong then you have already learnt 2% physics.2 Vectors In NEET, questions may be asked from this chapter but in JEE hardly any question is asked from this chapter. Or, if it is asked then only one question in a gap of 5-8 years. But again the concepts of this chapter are used at many other topics in whole Physics. I will ask students to make this chapter very strong. Without vectors you can’t learn Physics.3 Error analysis, Units and Dimensions and significant figures On an average one question is asked every year from these topics, in NEET as well as in JEE. It’s not a conceptual topic. There are certain fixed rules. You have to learn those rules. So I advise students to read this chapter 2-3 months before the actual exam. Difficulty Level: Simple to tough4 Kinematics (with projectile motion) On an average one question may be asked in every 2-3 years in both examinations. The concepts of this chapters are often used in different other chapters. So you can’t ignore this chapter. Difficulty Level: Moderate to tough5 Newton’s Laws of Motion On an average one question may be asked in every 2-3 years in both examinations. As compared to kinematics the concepts of this chapter are more frequently applied in different other chapters. So you can’t ignore this chapter. Questions based on friction are more common as compared to other topics. In different coaching materials/tests or lectures of some of the teachers I have seen that they apply a number of pulleys. To be very frank questions with number of pulleys are never asked in any competition. In NEET, questions are comparatively easier as compared to JEE advance.Difficulty Level: Moderate to tough6 Work, Energy & Power On an average one question may be asked in every 4-5 years in both examinations. The concepts of this chapters are also sometimes used in different other chapters. It’s a simple chapter. You can crack question from this topic in both exams. Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate7 Circular Motion On an average one question may be asked in every 5-6 years in both examinations. In some other topics concepts of this chapter (specially from the topic vertical circular motion) are also used. Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate8 Centre of mass, Collision and Impulse On an average one question may be asked in every 2-3 years in both examinations. The concepts of this chapters are also used in different other chapters. Questions from this chapter are dicey, you can or can not crack them. Specially NEET aspirants’ questions may seem to be tough. Difficulty Level: Simple to tough9 Rotational Motion Considered as one of the toughest chapter of physics. On an average one question from this chapter may be asked every year. This chapter needs 2-3 revisions for having command on it. For NEET aspirants this chapter becomes more difficult. So I advise the NEET aspirants to complete this chapter in two three phases. In first phase you can focus on moment of inertia, kinematics of pure rotational motion and conservation of angular momentum in pure rotational motion. When you are expert in these simple topics of this tough chapter then you can move on to other tough topics, step by step. Difficulty Level: Simple to Very tough10 Gravitation Simple chapter. One question in every 2-3 years is asked from this topic. Many of the concepts of this chapter are further revised in the chapter of Electrostatics. You should not miss question from this topic in any competition. Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate11 Elasticity Small topic. One question may be asked in every 5-6 years. Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate12 Fluid Mechanics Simple topic. One question in every 2-3 years is asked from this topic. You should not miss question from this topic in any competition. Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate13 Surface tension and viscosity Very good conceptual questions are framed in surface tension (specially in IIT-JEE). One question is asked in every 4-5 years. In NEET, level of questions is low.Difficulty Level: Moderate to tough in JEE and Simple to moderate in NEET14 Simple harmonic motion Questions are dicey. You can or can not crack it. One question in every 3-4 years is asked. You can’t ignore this chapter as this is linked with many other chapters like: wave motion, Young’s double slit experiment, Alternating current etc. Difficulty Level: Simple to tough in JEE and Simple to Moderate in NEET15 Wave motion One of my favorite chapters from student point of view. Almost one question is asked every year. In my class, complete theory comes in 25-30 pages and one question from these 25-30 pages is almost confirmed. Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate16 Heat & Thermodynamics Same as above. Sometimes two questions may also be asked from this topic. Variation in questions is not much and we also cover some of the topics in Chemistry. So one should never miss a question from this topic. Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate17 Current Electricity Simple chapter. One should never miss a question from this topic. One question in every 3-4 years may be asked. Roughly 10% of this chapter is similar to heat conduction through a conducting rod. I have seen in many books/test series that in the problems of finding equivalent resistance lots of resistances are connected. Star and delta method is also applied by some of the faculties. The fact is, problems are always asked from: series, parallel and balanced Wheat-Stone bridge. So refrain from such questions. Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate18 Electrostatics On an average one question is asked every year. Dicey. You may or may not crack it. Most of the concepts are similar to the the concepts of Gravitation. Very long chapter. Too many concepts and formulae. So keep patience and keep on revising the formulae and graph of this chapter. Difficulty Level: Moderate to tough19 Magnetic Effects of Current On an average one question may be asked every year.Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate20 Magnetism On an average one question may be asked in every alternate year.Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate21 Electromagnetic Induction On an average one question may be asked every year. Difficulty Level: Simple to Very tough22 Alternating Current On an average one question is asked in 3-4 years. This is also one of my favorite pick. There is hardly 8-10 pages of total theory, including the examples. Questions are mostly straight forward. One should not miss the question from this topic. Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate23 Ray Optics On an average at least one question is asked every year.Difficulty Level: Simple to tough24 Wave Optics There are two topics in wave optics: Young’s double slit experiment and Diffraction. Ratio of questions asked in these two topics is 6:1. So YDSE is more important. In JEE, some advanced level problems are framed in YDSE but in NEET they do not touch that level. One question in every 2-3 years is asked. On an average one question may be asked in every alternate year.Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate for NEET aspirants and Moderate to very tough for JEE aspirants25 Modern physics This is my favorite topic from students’ point of view. Some of the topics are repeated in Chemistry also, like Bohr’s atomic model, Photoelectric effect and Radioactivity etc. Complete notes of Modern Physics take hardy 30 pages and on an average two questions are asked every year. So you should never miss the questions from this topic. Difficulty Level: Simple to Moderate26 Semiconductors On an average one question may be asked every year.Difficulty Level: Simple to tough. Only in JEE Mains27 Communication System On an average one question may be asked in every 2-3 years. Very limited theory of hardly 6-7 Pages. Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate.28 Polarization, EM Waves etc. On an average one question may be asked in every 2-3 years. Very limited theory of hardly 8-10 Pages. Difficulty Level: Simple to moderate.Topics which are simple and you can easily solve problems from those topics with less efforts: Work, Energy and Power, Circular Motion, Gravitation, Fluid Mechanics (excluding surface tension and viscosity), Wave Motion, Heat & Thermodynamics, Current Electricity, Alternating Current & Modern Physics. You will get at least 30-35% problems from these topics.Best of luck students 👍

Which chapters come under algebra for JEE Main & Advanced?

Hey!There are mainly 6 chapters under it constituting1.Matricis and derminants2.Probability3.Permutation and combinations4.Quadratic equations5.Progressions and series6.Complex numbers1. Matrices and DeterminantsFor JEE Main - most of the questions in JEE main are a bit formula based so try to learn all the formulas and JEE Main requires speed so practicing more and more problems will surely increase your speed as solving 30 questions in 1 hour is not a easy task. For JEE Advanced - The importance of this chapter can be known from the fact that every year 3-4 questions on this topic are asked in JEE Advanced. This chapter requires understanding the theory. First try to clear the terms like idempotent, involuntary, etc. And also learn the formulae for adjoint and inverse of matrices as most of the question are from these topics. Domestic basic terms such as unit matrix, singular matrix should be clear and each and every formula must be learnt. And then practicing more and more problems will surely make you a champ in this chapter.2. Permutation and CombinationFor JEE Main – one question is asked every year in JEE Main from this chapter which is one of the easiest questions of mathematics, so try to learn all the basics and you will be able to solve it.For JEE Advanced - this might not be the most important chapters but this is the most interesting chapters in the syllabus of JEE for sure. And also that this chapter is required for solving questions of probability. To prepare it just practice more and more questions as you will not get anything from just understanding the theory.3. ProbabilityFor JEE Main – As compared to JEE Advanced,it is not as important for JEE Main . 1 question is asked from this chapter each year. Special attention on Bayes theorem and general probability should be given. For JEE Advanced - This chapter along with matrices is the most important part of algebra. This chapter is pretty interesting as well. Basic requirement in this chapter is pretty P and C. If your P and C is clear it is a really easy chapter so first of all go through Panda C before starting this chapter and than practice for probability questions. *Every year 3 questions are asked from probability which are mostly comprehension. Special attention should be given to Bayes theorem.4. Complex numbersFor JEE Main - every year 1-2 questions are asked from this chapter which is most probably from complex no. Rotation or from basic property of complex numbers. Such as multiplication or modulus oriented. For JEE Advanced- This is another very important chapter from JEE Advanced point of view. Every year 2 questions are asked from this chapter. And I think this is the most difficult part of algebra because it requires basic knowledge of a lot of chapters such as quadratic, sequence, vector,3D and matrice. But some people may feel that it is easy so try to prepare it at best because questions asked in JEE are not as tough as the practice problems.5. Quadratic equationsFor JEE Main - each year one question is asked from this chapter in JEE Main which is mostly from theory of equation or location of roots, so prepare these topics wellYet another easy but important chapter. The question may not be directly asked from this chapter but it has use in many chapter which includes chapter as important as integration, complex numbers, and many more. All you need is the basic understanding of each concept in this chapter.6. Progressions & SeriesFor JEE Main - one question each year is asked from this chapter which is mostly from infinite summation or from general AP question. For JEE Advanced - Every year 1 question is asked from this chapter. This is relatively tougher for some students but according to me it is easy.all you need in this chapter is practicing more and more problems. There is no other way of improving this chapter.Good luck!Upvotes really feels good btw.

Which is the toughest physics chapter in class 11?

“Units & Dimensions” , perhaps boring for me. It was like, i never cared for units. That's why when i saw separate chapter for it, i was like 😐. Although this chapter is very important for “competitive” point of views as well as higher examination. In exam's they play with units, so must study well🥺.Pic credit_Google
