He can speak in complete sentences, and, for the most part, knows not to say the “quiet parts out loud”. He has two children with his one wife, who’s a lawyer in her own right and kept her maiden name (how feminist)**. He’s conservative as can be. He’s establishment, but not really. If the GOP built a presidential candidate in a video game create-a-character, it would be Tom Cotton. How does Donald Trump compete with that? The things that worked for him against Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz in 2016 won’t work on Tom Cotton in 2024.Donald Trump running in four years is about as realistic as his day one replacement for Obamacare and the release of his tax returns. It’s just something he’s saying right now.** If Donald Trump insulted Anna Peckham the way he did Heidi Cruz, Tom Cotton would bust his ass. I’m using him as an example of why Donald Trump would have a much harder time securing the Republican nomination for POTUS in 2024. Trump had no political resume in 2016. He could say anything, make any promise. He’s been president for four years. He has a political resume now. He can’t just shout things. Lying Tom won’t work the way Lying Ted did.

People in West Papua, especially the native, have experienced so many changes for better human rights, through 4 different presidents, since 1999.Indonesia has committed to prioritize Human Rights issue in West Papua since Gus Dur’s era (1999) until Jokowi’s era today.In terms of Human Rights to Development, there are far more teachers in vocational school now. In 2014 there were 574 teachers, and in 2015, there were 1.083. (BPS, 2015)As for tertiary education, West Papua is at the top in Pacific with 67 universities, and there are only 49 universities in the rest of Melanesian countries. Papua New Guinea has only 37 universities, Fiji has 5, Solomon Islands has 5, and Vanuatu has 2 (UNESCO).In terms of Human Rights to Life, there are now 60 hospitals in West Papua, with average 4 new hospitals built every year. It’s higher than other eastern provinces in Indonesia (Ministry of Health, 2018). As a result, from 2010 to 2017, Human Development Index (HDI) in West Papua rose to 0,694 (BPS, 2018), better than other Melanesian countries like Solomon Islands (0,546) or Papua New Guinea (0,544), Papua is a much better place than 20 years ago, and the Papuans now have an even better future. Faith, trust, and hard work are the only way to walk that future.The approach of 'humanizing Papua' in Papua, as was done by Gus Dur, was not a security approach let alone sending military personnel to Papua.
