PDF Editor FAQ

What was the one time you "owned" a salesperson, and what happened?

Nothing overly spectacular. My wife and I were in Toronto on vacation - early winter so it wasn’t too cold. I was wearing a beat up old leather jacket, sweatshirt, jeans and boots. My wife was dressed about the same.So it’s mid-afternoon on a weekday and we wandered into a jewelry store (part of an upscale chain that no longer exists) and we were looking at emerald earrings. Salesman comes over. looks down his nose at us, and did the usual “can I help you” but his tone made it clear that what he really wanted to do was call the security guard over and have us evicted.Anyways we just said we were looking at the earrings. He hovered over us looking extremely unhappy until my wife put out her hand and said “We’re actually looking for something that would match this ring. Some background - the ring in question was an anniversary present from a couple of years earlier. I’d been in Bermuda with some clients and at the end of the day they invited me to join them - one of the major jewelry stores on the island was having a massive sale and my client’s company not only got to come in the night before the official sale so they got first choice of what was on display but they got an additional discount. Suffice it to say that I walked out very much poorer with a very heavily discounted emerald ring in hand.Back to Toronto - when my wife held out her hand and the salesman saw the ring she was wearing he started fawning all over us. Even if he hadn’t been such a supercilious prick before he saw the ring I wouldn’t have wanted to deal with the guy. Needless to say he didn’t get a sale.

What is the most stupid way you've died in Minecraft?

Fall damage in the stupidest way possible.I have always been a n00b in Minecraft. In fact, a cowardly n00b. I’ve never even played Survival in the single-player vanilla version of the game without setting the game mode to Peaceful. So this time I have already been playing in my Peaceful Survival™ world save for around a few weeks, meaning that I have gathered a reasonable number of resources, including a few diamonds and emeralds. So one day, I found an idea from a YouTube video to build a dirt cheap “beacon” (literally). Something like this, but next to a larger three-floor house:This was so that my house could be located with ease from afar, even at night:So I got building. I started placing one dirt block on top of another, building straight upwards and jumping as each block was placed, until I used up two stacks of dirt.Well, big mistake. I was 128 blocks high and had no way of getting back down without destroying my freshly made dirt cheap “beacon”.I forgot that the video mentioned to build a 2x1 structure upwards, instead of 1x1, so that the player would have a method of getting back down by destroying the second part of the structure, allowing the player to descend.I then thought to myself that since the game mode was Peaceful, the fall damage would not be substantial enough to kill me, and that at worst-case scenario I would end up with only half a heart left. And so, I jumped.Bad news: the maximum block height a player can drop without dying while wearing iron armor is 53.It took me a long time to make my way back home, as for some reason the game didn’t allow me to respawn in bed, instead, respawning me far from my house.Well, at least I had a “beacon” to use for finding my way back!

How do the new 1.14 Minecraft villagers work? How do I get them to stop hating me after I accidentally hit one of them?

There are actually a number of ways to stop them hating you. Some of them require a deal of risk however - I will start with the least risk, then move on to most risk.Trade. Simply put, the more you trade with a villager the more they will like you. This can cause their prices to return to normal (if you hit one), or even drop slightly. However, I believe any discounts from this method beyond the normal trade price is temporary - it will revert to normal after a certain amount of time.Raids. While sometimes annoying to trigger, raids can be incredibly beneficial to you - they not only drop villager prices, but also sometimes cause villagers to drop gifts at your feet. However, they are risky - they come in multiple waves, and each wave will spawn a combination of Vindicators, Evokers, and Ravagers, which can all be incredibly difficult to defeat at low levels.Zombie Curing. This is a big one, and one that many people miss. Essentially, if you get a villager killed by a zombie, there is a chance (based on game difficulty) that the Villager will be re-animated as a zombie. There is a 0% chance of a transformation on “Easy” difficulty, 50% chance on “Normal”, and 100% chance on “Hard”. If on Singleplayer, I recommend changing the difficulty to Hard temporarily to get the most back. Once done, cordon off the original zombie so it can’t get at your villager. Now, throw a splash Weakness potion at your zombie villager, and feed it a golden apple right after - you should hear a noise and it will begin shaking. After 5 minutes, it will be cured. Place a workstation next to the villager to set it’s profession, and when trading you will see MASSIVE discounts on all trades - for example, Librarian trades for Enchanted Books can go from 20 emeralds down to 1! What’s more, in 1.14.3 this was temporary, but in 1.14.2 and 1.14.4 (the newest version) this is permanent! As I said, however, number 1 is the least risk, number 2 has a chance for your villagers to die if not prepared correctly, and number 3 WILL kill around half your villagers (unless you’re extremely lucky). However, if you have a breeder set up (cordon off two villagers, then set them to farmers and make a small farm for them to tend. Wheat is preferable) then you should be good.

All of a sudden AllMyTube stopped working when I pasted an URL and so I could not download anymore. I checked for an update but something went wrong. So I turned to the Helpdesk and within 24 hours they had fixed the problem and send me a link where I could download the new (updated) version of the program. It turns out that YouTube had changed something (without any warning) and CocoDoc had to change something in their program (AllMyTube) to correct this problem. And as said: - they did ! Perfect and swift ;-)
