I eat lunch out with my co-workers every day. Our office is close to a strip mall with about 5-6 restaurants. Two or three have people waiting in line, the others survive on overflow (people too crashed for time to wait 10-15 min to get a table in the good places). It takes typically two bad meals to write-off a restaurant and never go back. Yes, good service and good reliable food are the must haves for office workers despite eating out every day. A "bad," word-of-mouth,reputation can kill a restaurant very fast. So, instead of coupons, I suggest you play the "under new management" trick. Then make sure you deliver food and sandwiches people want to eat, not stale pizza slices to be reheated. Make an effort to present the restaurant under a new light. Your goal should not just be to capture the crowds from the near-by offices (no matter how many coupons we get, we never go to the same place twice in a week.) Your goal should be to motivate people to drive to your place to eat.On weekends, target the family crowds. All kids love pizza after a soccer or baseball game. Make it a family day/night. Sponsor a soccer or little league team, let them know you are available for school/sports fundraising functions. For example, offer a chunk of the proceeds to the fundraising organization. If they like the food, they will come back later on.
