It definitely does! Across all male friendships, across all age groups. I'll give you examples out of my life!1. Age - 9 y.o.Subject of Affection (SoA) - 1st crush.Nemesis - Prawar Kothari.Bro - Shaunak Patil. In 4th std I developed my first real crush. Ma'am made her sit next to me so that I won't talk too much in class. I start liking her. She laughs pretty. Prawar likes her too. Now his school bus arrives before mine. The devil sits in my place and robs my day with her! Im devastated. He does this 3 days in a row. I tell Shaunak. Shaunak's dad drops him before Prawar. Shaunak saves my seat for me! I'll never forget the look on Prawar's face when Shaunak got up and gave me my seat! Aah Revenge!2. Age - 15 y.o.SoA - 1st girlfriend.Nemesis - 12th std bully who likes her too.Bros - Mehul Sevak, Suyash Tilak. We are in 10th std. He befriends the local PCO booth operator/small time goon. A deep friendship and then tells him of our predicament. Local goon tells us the time and place he will teach the bully a lesson. We get there. Goon gets hold of bully and slaps him silly in the middle of the street. Tells bully to back off.Suyash, Girlfriend and I go to the same tuition class. Bully comes there to confront me. Girlfriend is petrified. Suyash sneaks out the back gate with my girl to get her home safe. I go and deal with bully. Both bros deserve medals!3. Bros pissed. They force me to follow her and give her the letter. We follow her to her building. She parks her bike and starts walking to the elevator. The bro code, bromance, whatever you call it... does exist. Not only in India, but the world over. The Bro Code is not just what the Great Bro, Barney Stinson taught us, but also the other things we do for our Bros out of love and respect.

What did you do to get into Oxbridge?

Question: What did you do to get into Oxbridge? In 2009, I applied for a Master’s Degree at Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, and SOAS, and was accepted at all four, so I hope this answer is of use.As I’d already spent some time outside of academia by the time I decided to pursue further academic endeavours, I approached the question a little differently… beyond fulfilling the odd, seemingly hardwired dream of having a degree from Oxford, it was important for me to know what these universities could offer me.I went and interviewed the departments that I was interested in, to see, in person, which one would suit me best, i.e. which one seemed to be “good enough” according to my experiences. This gave me the opportunity to understand the work ethic at each university, who was/were the actual person/s I would be interested in learning with, who did what where and how the whole system worked, and what the libraries looked like.(I understand that not all people are able to do this as they live far away. I was living in Europe at the time, so the flight was reasonable and I was able to stay at a friend’s place, so the whole didn’t cost me much more than time.)I spent a day at each university, quizzing anyone who was around and willing (yes, I had made appointments, and no, you don’t just show up, that would be stupid…).LSE and Oxford took me very seriously. They understood that you ‘invest’ in a Master’s degree and that it should not be taken lightly.SOAS humored me but there were few people around to talk to. No one seemed able to tell me who was responsible for potential students such as myself, which was a bad omen.Cambridge staff were, to put it lightly, rude. They made me wait for nothing, pretended I didn’t have an appointment (which I very much did), and shoved a whole load of papers into my lap, all of which I was already familiar with (thank you very much) as I had dutifully trawled their website. This means that by the time these universities received/reviewed my application, they knew who I was, what I sounded like, and how serious I was about this degree.Beyond university specific administrative paperwork, my application consisted of the following:• Flawless letters of recommendation from two Heads of Department from my previous university (Webster University in Geneva (Switzerland), *not* a fancy nor highly regarded university by any measurable standards) as well as one from a very happy employer and one from a person I had worked with for quite a few years without being in a straightforward employee/employer situation.• A carefully crafted CV, complete with a list of my multiple academic awards (helps if the university you attended previously wasn’t, um, that great - see previous bullet point).• A meticulously planned and carefully written (and rewritten, ad nauseam) letter, which explained not only what and why I was interested in studying at that particular university but, more importantly, what I would be contributing to that institution.I cannot stress the last point enough. As with a job, do not ask yourself what you will get from it but rather what will you contribute to that specific institution. If you are applying for a Master’s degree, the person reviewing your application will be looking at you through the following lens:- does this person fit our department in the long run (potential PhD)?- will this person reflect positively upon this department/university once they have left?- will this person take this degree seriously (based on their interests and previous pursuits)?- do they sound nice and professional (and not obnoxious)? You can have the best papers in the world, but if you don’t fit, you don’t fit. After my four day long tour of the universities, I thought I’d probably get accepted at Oxford as they showed genuine interest in my research - even though they didn’t have anyone there who would have been able to supervise me.LSE would have cost me an arm and a leg (and more! London’s expensive!) so I wouldn’t have been too bothered had I been turned down - even though they did genuinely impress me.SOAS boasted an incredible array of lecturers from around the world, whom I would have been happy to learn from despite the institution’s apparent disarray at the time of my visit.Cambridge, well… they didn’t impress me.I’d already accepted my spot at Oxford when I was convinced by my friends in Mongolia to go to Cambridge.Studying at Oxford was a childhood dream but Cambridge has the Mongolia and Inner Asia Studies Unit (MIASU, read more here: http://innerasiaresearch.org/). For someone wanting to do a Master’s degree in Anthropology specialising in Mongolia, Cambridge was simply the best fit.I mention my applications to LSE (LSE Home) and SOAS (SOAS University of London) as well, as I see a strange fixation on Oxbridge here on Quora and around the world. Both are fine universities but they are, well, just human endeavours. They are only as good as the people they can recruit. For someone looking to study at Oxbridge, these places may seem like far away fortresses but it helps to keep in mind that they are nothing but a conglomeration of people who have the same fundamental fears and dreams that you have. While Oxford is terribly tied to traditions, people there remain open to random visitors such as myself, whereas Cambridge has taken on the aggressive task of pursuing overseas students who pay through their noses for the privilege of having the much coveted (i.e. well marketed) Cambridge stamp of approval on their papers. They don’t like random curious cats such as myself snooping around and judging them. LSE and SOAS don’t have to bother with the pomp and ceremony that come with being part of Oxbridge. They can simply get on with formidable academic research.I hope I have answered the question to some extent. As for the degree itself? That’s a story of its own.Let’s just say that besides an insane year spent buried in libraries and behind my computer screen, I met the most incredible people at Cambridge. I still work with one of the professors I met there and I fell in love and moved to Switzerland with a wonderful Cantabrigian (who studied at Leeds!) I met on a market on my second day in the city ;)

Can a person travel out of US while H1B amendment (change of client) is under process?

Normally it should not be a problem as long as the employer is the same. It is advised to carry a client letter or SOA with the client showing the contractor’s name.
