PDF Editor FAQ

Has anyone had an encounter with a ghost in real life?

My mother was taken away at very young age. So young in fact that I was a little over 2 years old when she passed at 20 years old from a brain aneurysm and because she had been taken from me so early in my life, I really couldn't put together a solid memory picture of which is something that has always bothered me to this day. Of course we have photographs but a picture is not the same as having the ability to recount an event, encounter and so one.In 2013, I was undergoing a great transition in my life. I was preparing to go through a divorce, attempting to mediate a custody agreement for my daughter, working full-time and working on my Doctoral degree. The intense pressure during this time was immeasurable. On this particular night I found myself in a dream riding passenger in the backseat going down a dirt road in the country. I had no idea of who was driving but this dream was so vivid and I have yet to experience another like it in my life. I could honestly feel the sun upon my face and arms in this dream. As I looked over to my left, I noticed a young sitting there looking out the window. She wore a beautiful red dress, a white hat and white lace gloves. She slowly turned towards me and lightly placed her hand on mine. It was at this time that I knew that it was my mother. Somehow having never having had a conversation with her, my heart knew that it was her and I begin to cry. It didn't feel like a dream but if it was, I never wanted it end. I was so emotional in the dream that when I awoke from it, I was still sobbing. Even now as I write this, I had to pause more than a few times from tearing up.My younger brother and I (he's younger by a little over a year), have no memories of our mother but we ensured all throughout our lives that we kept her memory alive through pictures and speaking with close family members who did know her. We continue to do so through our children.Thank you for allowing me to share with you.

Have you ever experienced any paranormal activity?

Yes. I used to live in a very remoted area, where there was no access to hospital, school, supermarket, nor transportation. We really lived in the nature and we believe that every thing has its own guardian. Like, water has its goddess. Forest, earth, and every element..In our village, my mother was known as healer. And so hospital wasn't much necessarily needed. She never asked people to pay her, the only things she wants that she wants to help people. She's very warm and gentle woman. I did not understand there was such thing as doctor, surgery, and sophisticated things outside my village. I grew up only knowing my village was the only paradise to human (our ethnic). Didn't even acknowledge that human race are very various and incredibly in massive number. One day, we moved to the city, because my mother wanted her children have good education. I was fascinated by all the things. Cars, skyscrapers, trains, computers,.. We started to build our lives, and mom worked as a merchant, in factory, etc.. She did many things as life was more easier in the village. One day, she passed by someone's house with a lot of crowd gathered and a scream scared them. My mother got into the crowd and asked everyone to step aside. There was someone in the house “got possessed by a spirit” as people assumed. The possessed woman was screaming and shouting.. When my mother came in, that lady got quieter and she spoke to my mother telling her messages the family should know. To make it short, she could get the “real person" to normal state.Right after that event, everybody recognised my mother as healer and used her ability to cure sickness. She also could see the past that we didn't notice. If that past brings message she'd say that to her patient in order to help them fix things. Fom mouth to mouth, my mother was well known in our area. After several years, one of my uncle's wife came to visit us. We were sitting on the floor in circle for some chit chat with guests--that' s how we do in my culture, we did not sit in the couch or sofa. Out of nowhere, she told my mother that it is not good to lie to people, that she didn't have the ability to cure people because she didn't even have education, and everything was only a lie. My aunt said that what she was doing is merely a disgrace for the family. I felt pain in my chest, she said that in front of us, my sisters, and my brothers. My mother didn't defend herself, she only answered in low tune “So that's what you say..”Few seconds after, a thunder hit our roof, some thunderbolt repeatedly occurrd and my older sister closed all the window curtains so our little brothers would not be scared. I was hugging my little brother when my mother just fell to her back from the circle. We were panicking and my sister took her head in her arms. And she sat back to her position with different aura, her voice changed, her way of speaking change.“Who is it here trying to hush my peace? Is there anything I must do you? Don't ask for my anger. You shall regret.” An old man deep voice said. He did a little gesture pointing the door, and swiped the door open and some wind swirled around her, got my aunt breathless. We were confused about the situation. As children, we couldn't interfere between adults because that could be seen as disrespectful behaviour.“Take your way back home and never wake me up.”I clearly remembered that day when everything changed in my family. I started to wonder what was it there my mother's have inside her. She's the kindest human being that never gets mad, never hurt others. She is a very beautiful human being. I said that not because she is my mother but merely I have grown up with her in most of difficult situation and she always help others, strangers, and every single time putting others first than herself.I didn't get to understand what was paranormal or stuffs, until then I only knew about spirituality that I have lived with it without acknowledging it.(Well, I'm not a good story teller and English is only my third language which I'm struggling to learn. I'm sorry if you don't get the story. :DPeace)

What's the most inexplicable experience you've ever had, whether supernatural, paranormal, bizarre coincidence, mysterious intuition, prophetic dream, or unexpected lab result?

I could lose all credibility by writing this. I am a scientist and I believe in supernatural phenomenon. Actually, by definition, IMHO, if it occurs in the Natural world then it’s not supernatural. It’s preternatural. It’s a natural phenomenon for which we don’t have an explanation. Many things were once attributed to gods when in fact they were natural phenomenon. Lightning and Planets come to mind. The reason I believe in the paranormal is because of my personal experiences. Starting at 8 years old I began having dreams that would actually happen a couple weeks later. These weren’t small things. They were major events that involved mass injury, death, and destruction. I would have to have concluded that I was delusional except that I told people about these events BEFORE they happened. This really disturbed a lot of people. Frankly I was scared to death of these predictions. At age 8 you start knowing what is and what isn’t real. There are no Vampires, no tooth Fairy, ghosts or ESP. But there was ESP and now all bets were off. What other nightmares were real that I was told weren’t? If any good came from this it would be that I saved/averted disaster for people 3 times. However, I wasn’t able to save anyone from the dream I had. I am describing this dream because it was the most detailed, and vivid occurance, in so much that I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. I still hope it was a coincidence, but the amount of attention to detail makes me think it’s highly unlikely. All the prophetic dreams started the same. It’s pitch black then I feel a sickening lurch like an elevator suddenly stopping. Then everything flares into existence and I have a sense of dreadfulness as to what f*cking horror is about to happen. A lot of times, in these dreams, I see the event through the eyes of an observer. This was the case in this dream. It happened in 1986. I was suddenly in a research/industrial building. The observer was panicked, very panicked. I could get information on a subconscious level. I couldn’t ask questions directly but the information would be there. I ‘asked’ what the problem was and the info was ‘nuclear disaster’. I asked if there was a nuclear war and the information indicated that no, this wasn’t a nuclear war. I was confused. I couldn’t figure out what kind of nuclear disaster didn’t involve a nuclear war. It’s important to note one detail at this point. I noticed the smell of mustard plants like what I used to smell growing up in the East SF Bay Area. The person began running down a hallway and got to a room. It looked ransacked like everyone left in a hurry. I also noticed that a metal screen over a window was partially melted. I was looking out the window at a dense forest like what you would see in the far north of North America. Or in Russia. Some of the trees were brown like they had been scorched. Then really quickly I saw an orangish cloud moving rapidly across the sky. Simultaneously I felt this dry burning heat in my nostrils and the smell of Mustard intensified. The person was suddenly resigned to the fact that it was too late. There would be no saving of him even if help did arrive. Help did arrive in the form of a truck like ambulance and I got in. There were badly injured people with burns and who were vomiting. We were taken to a makeshift clinic with many more injured people. The person lost it and started thinking ‘Oh my God, it’s too late and no one will ever know, no one will ever know, no one will ever know’ they repeated over and over. I woke up screaming. I knew a lot more people were going to die than what was going to be reported.Because of the intensity of the dream I told a number of people about it, including my mom and stepdad. Two weeks after the dream, Chernobyl happens. I was slow to connect all the dots, but I began piecing things together. I now knew what kind of Nuclear disaster didn’t involve a nuclear war. Then the news had a shot of the inside of the Chernobyl nuclear plant control room. A hallway coming off it looked like the hallway the person was running through. Survivors began reporting that the trees in the area looked brown/dead. Then survivors described a burning dry heat as the Reactor had the meltdown. Then there was the last detail. It was maybe a few months after the dream and I’m telling this story to college dorm mates, I get to the point that I’m describing the smell that I used to smell in the East SF bay area. One of the dormies jumped in and said ‘was it the smell of mustard’? (!!). ‘HOW the f*ck did you know that?’ She told me that her mom had arrived in Kiev about the time of the disaster (which isn’t far from Chernobyl) and as she got off the airplane she smelled the intense scent of Mustard. I freaked. I never get used to any of this. I was so distraught and freaked out that I puked. Now you can see why this phenomenon scared the living sh*t out of me. I’m also sick of being treated badly whenever I bring up the precog events. I’m not sure what’s worse, that people think I’m crazy/deluded when I tell them about something that is going to happen or that I’m shunned or treated like a freak when the events (almost always bad news) happens. I’ve had self proclaimed Psychics, (the real deal is rare), tell me that I have high level precog abilities, aka I’m psychic, but I refuse to use that word to describe what I do, because use of that word makes one lose all credibility with the general population. However, the only way I can describe the reason this happens as what I mentioned above-that it’s a natural phenomenon that can’t yet be explained. Evolution wise, there would be enormous selective pressure to be able to see nasty events before they happened as a way of helping ‘the tribe’ remain alive. In fact, all humans predict events based on patterns. We figure out the pattern in order to know what the result, X, will be if we do Y. It’s not a far leap to conclude that on some level we’re perceiving patterns unconsciously that allow for highly accurate, and precise predictions. Maybe it’s an evolutionary event that just started with Humans. It would make sense, then that we would see events that represented a threat. That would be the most basic, visceral and vital ability. If it’s evolutionary, maybe some descendant of Homo Sapiens will have a much better ability to do these things. Rather than just surviving, then maybe people could start doing things like predicting winning lottery numbers. (Lotteries would have to be abandoned in this case because the element of chance is gone).Laugh if you want. I wish I could.Later on: Wow! 181 upvotes.
