I have some great songs that are yet to be recorded in the studio and released, but what I really need is assistance and a sponsor. How can I get help?

Have you regularly performed this music to different audiences? If so, have they responded well to it? Have you started to develop a fan base?If your answer is no to any of these questions, then you’re not ready to even consider recording music. If you go through the work of recording, producing, and releasing music just to have nobody but your mom listen to it, you’re gonna be pretty disappointed with yourself. You need to beta test this stuff before you determine that you “need” assistance and a sponsor.Assume you answered yes to all these questions. What do you mean by “assistance”?Are you referring to assistance with marketing and expanding your fan base? Start with social media, word of mouth, and landing legitimate gigs over a relatively broad area (call venues, research festivals and get a spot in them, network with musicians/producers/business owners).Assistance with playing your music? As in you need a drummer, bassist, violinist, or whatever? Start a band if you have serious roles that need to be filled. It doesn’t matter how you do it, just get a band together: the support system and multiplied creativity will only make you more likely to succeed. If you have a band, make sure everyone is skilled and rehearsed enough to play the music well on the first take before you go to a recording studio. If you just need a musician or two for a few songs, hire freelance musicians (college students could be great for this). If you need a full-blown orchestra, well, you’ll need a sponsor of some sort, but we’ll get into that later. In the meantime, don’t record music that requires an orchestra: just save it for once you’re somewhat established.Assistance with recording or producing your music? Shop around for the best rates among the nearest recording studios and call and ask what the rates include. (Strictly recording time hourly rates? Special rates on reserving a studio for the whole day? Inclusive of working with a producer post-recording?) If you end up recording at a studio that doesn’t offer any post-production or is just too expensive to hire to do post-production, either download a music editing software and learn this crap yourself, hire a freelance audio engineer, or find an aspiring, talented engineer and offer them either band membership or a role as the band’s exclusive engineer. If you think you need assistance with anything else at this stage, then you’re just not willing to put in the work. Furthermore, if you think you need a sponsor before you record, then you are mistaken. If people like your music, then record it. Then produce it. These two things are expensive, so prepare to eat nothing but ramen for three months and get a third part-time job, especially if you’re not efficient in the studio. Then release it. On anything. Put it on YouTube, put it on Soundcloud, get it on as many music streaming platforms as possible, give away or sell cds at your performances, and relay all of this to your fans on social media.Once you successfully do all this to the best of your ability—at this point, you should have at least a few thousand followers on social media, people are filling up your hottest venues to hear you, and you have at least a few thousand hits on your music on many of the streaming platforms—find sponsors. And I don’t mean small, local businesses having a flyer of your concert schedule at the counter, or you managing to get slightly discounted merch: you should have already been doing this crap from day one. I mean sponsors that will spread your name wide or produce some real cash flow.Sponsors can refer to having businesses paying you to mention or showcase them on your social media platforms or during performances, it can refer to a company providing you with free or heavily discounted merch, it can even refer to a university’s orchestra in the city you started in or the university you attended performing for one of your recordings (one solution for the aforementioned problem). You can begin many small, local sponsorships when you first get going, and then you can steadily add on new arrangements with bigger consequences as you expand your fan base. But if you want someone to provide services tailored to your needs well immensely increasing the likelihood of making it big, then this is most easily achieved through a record label deal, and this you cannot get unless you have a track record as a talented and successful musical figure. And what acts as proof of this? A strong fan base as seen on your social media platforms, a decent amount of streams of your music, and, most importantly, good music as portrayed on your already-released recordings. If you have reached a point where you believe it would be mutually beneficial for you and a record label to do business together, then start calling managers, agents, and record labels themselves. Arrange face-to-face meetings at all costs. Prepare a strong pitch backed by numbers and quality of your music. Remember, a band is a business, so if you haven’t been treating it as so, it’s time that you do.Make sure all deals you make are written into a contract, and make sure you have a lawyer present during negotiations who reads this contract, and this applies to any deal, not just a record deal. This is how you attain a sponsorship. So to answer your initial question, “How can I get help?”, you need to accept the fact that you may not always get help, but you definitely won’t be able to figure everything out on your own. The biggest help you can get is a support system as found in your bandmates, friends, and family. If you seriously want to get to the point where you make a career out of making music, tell everyone. Not only will this potentially create opportunities, but it will hold you accountable.Getting sponsorships as a musician is not easy—in fact, it might be one of the hardest things you will ever do— but it is possible. Just stay true to yourself, show your grit, and ask as many people for help as you can.

What do you think Jimin will do when BTS disbands or goes on hiatus?

Warning: This is a very long answer so maybe just skip this answer. As a Jimin bias I think about this question frequently. Aside from Jimin and Jin all of the members of BTS have eluded or directly stated what some of their hopes and goals for the future outside of BTS are (i.e. solo work). Here is my current one sentence opinion on the future for Jimin:As of right now what Jimin wants to do in the future is an absolute mystery and because of how private he is about himself there really is no way of truly predicting what he will decide to do until he drops hints or lets us know. This isn’t really what the question is asking though, it’s asking for my opinion and my prediction outside of what Jimin or anyone has said. We all know I am an opinionated girly so here is what I’m thinking… mixed with some pictures of Jimin because why not?Just like with any K-pop idol there are many scenarios that could happen with Jimin once BTS members start enlisting and BTS goes on “hiatus”… PAUSE FOR CLARIFICATION AND THE OT7’s:I am NOT saying that I think BTS is disbanding anytime soon with this answer or going to only do solo work once Jin enlists next December (2022). This answer is strictly in terms of what I think Jimin will do in terms of solo work outside of BTS and once BTS starts focusing more on solo work than group work. This answer is not predicting the demise of BTS or discrediting how much Jimin loves his members. It’s strictly just me letting out my thoughts on what the future of Jimin could contain. As I was saying, there are typically a few standard routes that K-pop idols will take once their groups stop being active or disbands. Obviously things will be a little different for the BTS members since BTS has achieved a level of fame that no other Korean artist has. That doesn’t change the fact that Jimin’s future will probably follow along one or a few of these main routes:Focus on his solo music career and do big name collaborations to maintain and grow a global solo fanbaseDo Korean reality TV shows, broadcasting, interviews, MC positions, etc.Go into actingModeling and commercialsStay lowkey, do an occasional OST or solo song and invest and save his money wiselyStart his own entertainment company or become a major player within Big HitLeave the entertainment industry entirely and go into business or some other venture with the capital he gained from being in BTSI’m going to “briefly” talk about my opinions on if I could see him doing any of these in the future.I don’t honestly see Jimin going into acting at all unless it’s a random cameo appearance in a K-drama but I don’t even see that. Jimin just doesn’t strike me as having any interest in acting. He prefers showing his emotions through music and dance. He has a more straightforward and honest approach to expressing his feelings, acting is …. acting. Still an art form so no hate at all, I just don’t think it’s something he will do or has an interest in doing personally. Imagine him in these robes though…. one of my favorite edits.Modeling and commercials/advertisements is absolutely something I could see him doing and will be shocked if he doesn’t do for a bit once BTS starts to slow down and focus on member’s solo projects. Every month he extends his record as the number one brand reputation guy or whatever it’s called. For some reason Big Hit is keeping the members from doing solo advertisements and contracts so as soon as they are able to I see him among many other members doing advertisements and sponsorships with high end brands. Jimin gets a lot of attention globally (all of the maknae line does), so I guarantee brands are just waiting to snatch him up for a sponsorship deal. Jimin is a pretty smart man so I don’t see him saying no to these business opportunities. It’s easy money and photoshoots/advertisements are something he’s been doing for years so he’s comfortable playing that role already. For me, this is an obvious yes he will do it in the future unless some major scandal involving him comes out.Korean reality TV show, game shows, MC positions, etc. This is something I can kind of see him doing but also not. This is usually something done by people not as famous as him, no offense to the former idols and stars who do these type of shows. He will definitely be the one being interviewed for awhile to come but I can see him when BTS starts enlisting maybe joining as a temporary host or guest on a show or two to pass the time and earn extra money. He has that extrovert energy in front of the camera to be engaging and draw viewers in. That all being said, I just don’t see him wanting to really do this unless he’s bored. He definitely has enough money to not need to do it so this will really be up to him. That also being said, he seems to love to gossip and know people’s business so I could also see him being the one asking spicy questions to idols on talk shows. Not really sure on this, if I had to give a definite answer I would say no I don’t honestly see him doing this until he’s much older (in his 40’s) and his fame has settled down entirely. I also just think after a decade of having to do game shows like RUN he will be over it, just to add that in.Alright lets get into the spicier ones. First up: start his own entertainment company or become a main player in a existing one. This is iffy because Jimin has never shown any interest in the business side of things but at the same time there’s been so many excellent analyses of him that show he really is somewhat business-minded. He’s also getting his masters in advertising media currently. This is a little tidbit about the program he is in from his university:Jimin is extremely smart and a hard worker. If he puts his mind to something, he can do it. This option will honestly just be about whether I think he would want to do it or not. I don’t honestly see him wanting to pull a Bang PD and open his own company but at the same time he is pretty controlling so I don’t see him being happy not being his own boss once BTS is over so if he does decide to want to get involved in the business side of things, I could see him starting his own company. To be honest, this is just wishful thinking, but I could see Jimin starting a company wanting to make sure his idols and artists are being treated fairly and able to fully be themselves comfortably. I could also see him being as successful as Big Hit if he put his mind to it. What a lot of people don’t understand is that BTS and all idols make A LOT of connections while they are idols. Jimin knows the top producers, choreographers, songwriters, etc. in South Korea and throughout the world. On top of that people love and respect him. He has the potential, more so than other members in my opinion, to run his own company and be successful. People really underestimate his academic and social intelligence mixed with his dedication and situational/global awareness, everything he does is calculated and well thought-out. That could be a whole other discussion but I’ll end this saying I think this is an option but to be honest, this will all depend on how successful his solo music goes and if he wants to focus on creating music and leave the business aspect up to other people. I’d say I’m 50/50 on this one, I think he will want to try and continue creating art for people to enjoy for as long as possible which makes me lean towards thinking this is a pipe dream for me.CEO Jimin though:The next viable option is to stay lowkey and do an occasional OST or solo song/album and invest his money wisely. This is something that I think is a front runner right now in terms of where he is at mentally. I think Jimin pulling away from social media and the spotlight the past year or so is a direct result of him just being tired of people’s negative opinions and criticism no matter what he does. This man breathes and he is hated on for no reason, FROM WITHIN THE FANDOM. He loves and appreciates the fans that love him for him but other than that he’s over it. Even being over it, he’s still an artist down to his soul. Whether he is expressing himself through dance or song, music really seems to be his escape and his way of letting his emotions out. I don’t see him giving up music or dance entirely anytime soon which is why I could see him staying more lowkey and just occasionally releasing new music rather than doing the full on solo route and touring solo across the globe. Jimin just strikes me as a very private person and when BTS is over I think he will want the freedom to do whatever he wants without being judged and to be able to enjoy a lowkey but unhidden personal life. A life where he can walk the streets without being mobbed. I see him kind of wanting to be like Taemin but maybe even a little more lowkey. I don’t see him wanting to film anymore pointless content just to feed fans once BTS is over or slows down. He has a lot of money and a good head on his shoulders, the more I type this out the more I see him just staying lowkey and investing his money in places where it can slowly grow. Which brings us to our next section of discussion….Jimin leaving the entertainment industry entirely and going into some other business venture with the capital he’s gained as a BTS member. This is surprisingly a 50/50 one for me too. I wouldn’t exactly be shocked if he did this. Here’s the thing, Jimin gets shitted on for his voice every day by haters and just random people. We’ve also seen on the documentaries that he seems to suffer from a chronic muscle pain condition in his neck/back/shoulder area. I’m saying this because to me I think that rules out him living a life of continuous touring and performing. I don’t think his body will be able to continue to perform the way it has the past seven/eight years and Jimin is a perfectionist, he is NOT the type of artist who will be happy to just sit on a bar stool with a microphone in front of him and sing to the audience. That’s just not his style. His true love I would say is performing. The combination of dance and music, neither one alone. Does he love to sing and create music? Yes. Do I think he loves it more than performing his songs on tour? No. Again, just my personal opinion. To me, Jimin lives to perform and be on stage and when I say be on stage I mean fully give his all. His body will not allow him to do that for that much longer and this is something BTS has talked about in their documentary. Jimin specifically said that he thinks he will have a hard time admitting when the time has come that he just can’t physically do it anymore but that doesn’t mean he won’t know when to say when. Again, he’s a perfectionist I don’t see him continuing to stay on stage once he knows his body is in a permanent decline in terms of his ability to put on fresh and innovative performances. The truth is, Jimin being the perfectionist he is and me not seeing him want to tour or go full-on solo unless he can give his all leaves me to constantly wonder if after BTS he will step back from the spotlight entirely and just focus on a whole new path in life. The thing is, the BTS members are so popular they could open up essentially any business they wanted within reason and do okay. Jimin’s dad’s coffee shop does pretty well from what I’ve heard and Jimin could choose to open up more coffee shop’s which I’m sure would be successful or maybe open up a restaurant like Jin did. A lot of people are reading this saying “no way, he loves music too much” but BTS members literally have the world at their feet and you are naive if you don’t think they know it. They could all open up small businesses (cafes, bookstore, etc.) on the side and they would do well because tourists would travel to go there and locals would too. Halsey just launched her makeup line which is doing well, BTS members have seen that and I guarantee wonder “hmm, could I do the same”. Maybe not with make up but with something else. I don’t think this option is entirely out of the picture. I say I’m 50/50 thinking he could leave the entertainment world behind and forge a new path somewhere else. Again not within the next few years but down the road.Obviously I saved the one answer everyone wants to debate for last. Let me first address one of the opinions I see on here regarding Jimin’s future as a solo artist. The most popular opinion regarding Jimin and his ability to have a solo career is that “he can’t perform without the other members” or “he needs the other members”. Something along those lines. People love using quotes the guys said years ago and applying them to present day as if people don’t change over time and grow. I will admit again that right now I think Jimin is solely focused on his work as a BTS member and enjoying this last year or two with his members. BTS has had many ups and down but Jimin truly loves his group and being apart of BTS. I don’t think he is ready right now to really think or focus on a solo career though I’m sure he’s starting to think about these things. But this question isn’t asking where I think he is at now mentally its asking what I think he will do in the future (5–10 years from now). Because of Jimin’s love of music and performing I don’t see him stopping anytime soon. I think its all he knows how to do right now and until he starts showing interest in something other than performing I don’t see him stopping. I personally think he will put out one or two mixtapes/albums before military enlistment and depending on how those do and his mindset after the military, he will decide if he wants to continue on with music. I think its a no brainer that he will do well solo, his solo songs are the most successful on official BTS albums (Lie, Serendipity, Filter). That being said… I do somewhat agree with people in that I’m not sure I see him being like JK wanting to sell out stadiums solo. I’m not sure he honestly has the mindset/mentality for it. Jimin is extremely emotionally intelligent and strong but at the same time he really does thrive when he is around his loved ones whether it be BTS members, friends, or family. I don’t really see him enjoying touring alone across the globe like I can see JK do. So…….If I had to summarize all of my different feelings on these routes he could take and what I personally think his future will look like as this, my official summed up answer to this question:Because I don’t see him wanting to tour solo full-time I see Jimin putting out solo music but mainly just staying in Korea and maybe doing occasional appearances at more lowkey places in Europe and the US. I see him modeling and representing high end brands until his mid thirties and then switching to mainly Korea-based endorsements. I see him being interviewed on talk shows for years to come and when he’s older maybe being a temporary panelist or talk host for one that he likes. I see him going into several different business ventures on the side of his music career such as more coffee shops and things like that. I see him most likely maintaining his shares in Big Hit and becoming a big decision maker within Big Hit helping younger artists achieve their dreams. I see him doing all of that and though it seems like a lot its less than what the guys do now. I think the most important thing I didn’t say but see him doing is settling down when he finds someone he can’t live without and starting a family. When that happens he will switch to staying located in Korea most of the time and focusing on the more business side of the entertainment industry because he will want to be home at night with his family.So…. that’s where I see Jimin outside of BTS. Obviously this isn’t based on fact at all just a personal opinion. I’m sure many will disagree and I’ve seen many other people with opinions stating the opposite of what I’ve said. I think we are all entitled to our own opinion and none of us know these guys personally so if you don’t like my opinion that’s fine. Anywho, here’s one last Jimin:
