To the contrary, I used to think I was dumber than most. Then, I had a couple of big test scores that shocked my biggest critics and myself. One was a perfect score on a yearly standardized exam in Reading/Language Arts, when I was 10. I was currently being considered for retention in 5th grade. Eventually, I was placed in a high school AP English program. At age 15, I achieved my school’s top score on the comprehensive final Geometry exam. I struggled with math for years, so this gave me a big shot of confidence, going forward. I was never arrogant about my abilities, though, because I first spent my time at the bottom of the social and academic ladders. We all have our strengths and weaknesses; our successes and failures. All represent opportunities to learn important life lessons. We need to keep that in mind, when we consider ourselves and others.

There was a study done by a professor not so long ago. 100 people were selected to participate. Each was different. Some were At PhD level, Post graduate, Some Bachelor , some associate, some simply high school , some with GED or less.The age group was wide ranging.The professor created a question and then actually provided and answer to the question. He did so in 5 different ways.First on a Post graduate level, Then in the form of an engineer. Then in the form of A standard college education, then in the form of a High School education, then on a 5th grade elementary level.He asked all to select the best answer that they thought provided the most clear solution that was easy to understand and helped them understand not only the solution, but the problem.An overwhelming majority chose............ 5th grade level.That said , Interaction with others can be intelligent conversation, but what defines intelligent is the ability to communicate effectively not large words or complex questions.You never insult anyone's intelligence with a question. You may however insult their ego.................;-)
