Aspiring candidates may go through the provisions enshrined in the NOC given below since it serves as an undertaking given by the employer for relieving their employees for training and embodiment in TA as and when required. Alternately, if the employee wishes to continue with his civil job even after joining TA, it would benefit him further by the employer providing all necessary assistance to him for timely embodiments. How ever, NOC is never cross checked or their antecedents verified by TA Directorate and it remains as a mere supporting document in the TA directorate in a way that the candidate is gainfully employed.No objection certificate is required to be submitted by candidates along with their application form while applying for grant of Infantry TA commission. It is the responsibility of the candidate concerned to get the NOC from their Head of dept/HR without which their TA applications will not be processed . TA Directorate has no role to play or have powers to instruct employers to provide NOC or there exists any Govt letter or instructions stating that grant of NOC is mandatory as it has been observed that grant of NOC to employees for TA is purely optional and decided by the employer.As already said, providing NOC by private companies to their employees is purely their prerogative. But, with the candidates ingenuity, hard work , they can be convinced for a change of mind.For Central Govt employees, again, the head of department will grant NOC to their employees working under them. I remember, for the IRS officer who was granted TA commission, his official NOC was received within six months, but for the IAS officer who joined TA later on, after getting motivated by this IRS officer, his NOC was issued after two years by the respective Ministry, but he has produced an interim NOC along with the application form on the strength of which his application was processed for TA commission. So you find for central or state Govt employees, grant of NOC is no problem.Format of NOC of Central/State Govt is given below. To join TA, candidates are required to download application Form IAF (TA)-9 (Revised) Part-2 from www.indianarmy.nic.in and fill it up in their own handwriting. The NOC is a part of application form to be submitted for commission in Non Dept (Inf )TA.
