(1) Ask for a copy of the survey being quoted. IS it by a licensed land surveyor? Or some other surveyor?(2) Get the county/parish/boroughs tax assessors plat (map) which should have the lot description from the original survey. Locate the benchmark used to identify the map basis.(3) Look at your title search or other documents to identify any easements.(4) Locate the physical property line markers, sometimes this is a buried pipe, sometimes it is a arrow or mark on the curb. Typically ground marks trump maps.Once you have these documents you should be able to figure out the truth of the situation.I have a second home on a steep hill in coastal California in an area with lots of magnetic abnormalities due to iron rich deposits. A neighbor had our property lines surveyed and noted that the hill had slumped over 8′ since the 80 year old prior survey.The hill has slumped (as hills do in California), but 8′ is a lot of slump! So I checked his survey against the original. Both were done by licensed surveyors (so far so good) but they used different benchmarks (wait a sec).The original survey used a benchmark located using a magnetic compass survey line to a nearby hill top benchmark. The new survey used a highly accurate GPS based location. No attempt was made by the modern surveyor to locate the original benchmark.A subsequent survey by the local water district did. Guess what. The original location point is 7′ or so off of the GPS location. Local magnetic fields distorted the original survey….Curiously if you zoom far enough into Google Maps to show the lot lines from the county records on top of the map mages, the roads and houses are offset from the gMaps lot lines by the difference between the true and surveyed locations.See how the houses are on top of the roads. (they aren’t in the real world) Two different map bases…

Hii… QUORANS…I am going to share my experience from my FSB 02/2018 interview. I hope you are looking for answers related to “Interview” and not the whole process.Those who just want the crux and don't want to read my entire answer then, it is here :Try your Self Description (SD) to speak about your qualitues in the psychology test and ideally it should match while answering the questions asked in the interview on the basis of the information given in PIQ.If you got the idea, then it is well and good…BUT IF YOU DIDN'T, IT'S EVEN BETTERYou will come to know about it now. But you have to read my entire ANSWER,…a very loooonnnng Answer.NOTE: SSB is not about knowing current affairs and knowing the world, instead “it is about knowing yourself inside out” which calls for deliberate INTROSPECTION . Though having extra knowledge always boosts your confidence.Now, how would you know yourself or “Introspect” , well that's also a problem with few people that they always have wrong perception about their personality, being both +ve and - ve perceptions when they try to fake it.SO, Let's start knowing yourself (This is going to be lengthy…Sorry) :Okay, you all know that PIQ is very important since it carries a lot of information about you and which also forms the basis for questions asked in the interview. But there is one more important piece of paper which I believe is equally important, which determines who you really are, the SELF DESCRIPTION (SD).Information given in the PIQ are the “dots” which are to be “connected” by your SD in order to make yourself highly expressive.Genuinely write your SD and it will give you, who you really are at the moment, so that you can boldly and honestly express yourself in front of the assessor. Remember Honesty is what keeps your Blood Pressure normal, so be honest.Now, how would you write your SD:The most effective way to do is to, simply give the complete list of OLQs along with their explanation to your best of the friends and teachers who know you inside out and ask them to rate you on each of the OLQs with a real life instance/example which made them think about you in a particular manner. For example:I do a lot of long distance cycling, so my friend rated me high on STAMINA giving me this example.Once I hosted my senior's farewell without hesitating even though I didn't get much time to prepare for it, so she rated me high on CONFIDENCE by giving this example.And so on… So now at least I know that, if not all 15 OLQs, I have at least these 2 OLQs, that I can be proud of, since my friend pointed it out in me with a genuine instance. So I don't need to fake it in my SD or in front of interviewing OFFICER (IO) , if he asked me about my strengths. (By the way, I was asked about my strengths in the interview…and if I didn't prepare my SD in this manner, I wouldn't be confident enough to tell about myself with real life examples.)After getting your assessment done by your friend, now work on the expression part. EXPRESSION/ POWER OF EXPRESSION is very important, since without it, even though, if you have most of the OLQs, you won't be able to express yourself and fail in the process.Be proud of the OLQs you possess and express it confidently, because that is what makes you “YOU” .Respect yourself…respect your personality… you are special and unique in your ways. EXPRESS YOUR UNIQUENESS.you don't need to copy anyone or any recommended candidate. Just follow the steps they took if you feel right. Else the “YOU” in you would be overshadowed by other's personality.NOW, The question is, how would you express here it is:Mere speaking big words/adjectives about yourself won't be a good idea to express yourself. Instead, give examples that you have gotten from your friends, teachers and parents in the SD in your intetview.For example: Don't just say that you are confident, instead give him examples like, I hosted a farewell/fresher party when no one was ready to do it since there was a shortage of preparation time.Now, let them judge your qualities by your examples, that is what they do and love…, “JUDGING”. I believe it makes their job easier to judge us.Now coming to hobby…Hobbies are very important, since this is something which we do as per our own will unlike studying(academics) which we do anyway, whether we like it or not. So, your hobbies speak a lot about you…It gives an idea about your personality and also develops it over the time.Be proud of your hobbies, even if you surf internet in your leisure time.For example: I like cycling and that is my hobby. My leisure time revolves around it. Even if I am watching something on YouTube, most of the time it is about cycling and how to learn new techniques and do better in it. So my hobby gives a lot of hints about my personality and originality. Since I have mentioned about it different times in SD, in PIQ, in TAT, in WAT and now in INTERVIEW too.Try to come out with things that your hobby has developed in your personality and then you would be confident to know that you already possess some of the OLQs…it just the expression part , which has made you inconfident about your personality.So most of us are already having some or most of the OLQs, we just don't express in our best ways.Be as honest as possible during the whole process.HONESTY PAYS…Be as elaborative as you can while answering to any question, because the IO doesn't know much about you apart from the information given in PIQ and SD. And we don't want the IO to misunderstand us by our half hearted or incomplete answers.For example: you are asked about the place you are coming from…I can say VARANASI or I can describe my place in my best possible way, which gives a lasting impression on the IO that I am aware of my surroundings, love it, respect it, that, I know much about it.Same thing is to be done, when you are asked about your parents, teachers, friends. Give instances, talk about their qualities, their achievements because it shows that you are good person who sees, understands and respect the qualities of others.Do not hesitate to ask to repeat if you miss some of the questions asked by the IO. It shows that you are a normal human being who can forget things and have the guts to ask again.“You are supposed to know something but not everything”: Well, you can't know everything and they don't expect you to be the Wikipedia.What they seek for, in you is, “ACCEPTANCE”, when you don't know the answer to some questions. They accept “ACCEPTANCE” but not you going “BLUFFING” around.When you don't know something, accept and ask their permission if you can answer it in the Conference. It shows that, you are an honest, responsible and ready to change and learn something new type of person, who doesn't propogate wrong facts to hide his incompetency.Now, one more important question which you need to answer yourself honestly is, that “Why do you want to join defense forces?”.We all envy good pays and Perks that forces provide us with when we become the part of the force. Getting good Perks and pays is good, but…Think of at least one good reason other than pays and Perks to join the forces. Satisfy the assessors with logical reasons for joining forces. See, if the reason is genuine, one don't need to show fake patriotism which they don't mean.For example: I was asked, why do I want to join Defense forces and leave IIT for it…My response: My experience in the field of study is not very good, when I did my internship, it was not something which I imagined and would like to do willfully and moreover, my hobbies aligns more with defense forces which requires more activeness than a corporate world.So, That's my genuine reason…Try to come up with yours…no need to be similar to my reason.BE FIRM ABOUT WHAT YOU SPEAK IN THE INTERVIEW AND WHAT YOU WRITE IN SD, by saying that, I mean, you must not change your response to a particular question in front of different assessors.For Example : Thrice I was directly asked about, why do I want to join defence forces and leaving IIT for it.This was first asked indirectly in SD, second time directly in the Interview, third time directly asked by the GTO and finally in Conference too.So my point is, do not contradict your statement ever in the entire process. If I had lied at any point of time, they would have caught me for a lie in the conference itself, since both the GTO and IO knew about my reason in advance.That's why I am insisting on doing Introspection and honestly putting facts about yourself, so that you don't have to worry about getting caught for lies.Now, one last but important thing about SSB is: There is no single-perfect answer to questions asked in the SSB, since the questions are open ended and it's you, who have to decide, how to answer a particular question.And that is the best part, which gives birth to originality. You can do good, even without keeping all the things in mind that I have mentioned here because there is no single and perfect approach to it. What favoured me, may not favour you and vice versa. It's just all the approaches have Introspection and Honesty in common.Those who are still reading… you guys are great readers . Thank you, thank you very much for coming so farrrr… :pIt is the longest answer, that I have given…Because I wanted to share it with those eligible candidates who just don't express themselves much or find it difficult, even though, they have an immense potential to Crack the SSB.THIS WAS MY EXPERIENCE…YOUR CAN BE DIFFERENT, SO, YOU NEED NOT FOLLOW IT BLINDLY/PARTIALLY/COMPLETELY OR AT ALL…Good luck potential officers…
