PDF Editor FAQ
If railway gets privatised, what are the facilities that you think the employees won't be able to enjoy anymore? Do you think it is right for them?
Disclaimer:— These are absolutely based on my views and observations, because my mother is also a Central Government Railway employee. So in order to explain the question let us suppose that X is a Railway employee and currently the Indian Railway hasn't been privatised. So now let us discuss some of the facilities in form of cases.Case01:—While x was at work he got somehow electrocuted, he was immediately rushed to the nearby govt hospital, but after examining the doctors felt that his condition was a bit critical, so they referred him to one of the biggest private hospitals of our nation, but don't worry he doesn't need to pay a single amount, as each and every expenditure of his will be managed by the government itself. But unfortunately he succumbed to his injury. Now either his wife or his son/ daughter age > 18 years would be made a permanent Railway employee, and would also be given some amount for compensation.Case 02:—Now if X wants his wife and his son also to avail the same medical facilites, then he will have to make their Umeed Card, although his wife could avail this facility life long but his son would be able to avail this facility only till he is studying (the college/ school would be providing him/her with a bonafide certificate).Case 03:—He would be getting 3 passes (depending on his post he gets the passes of sleeper / AC tier3 /AC tier 2 ) using which he could travel from A-B and could return back from B-A without any cost and the validity of the pass is for 5 months.Case 04:—In case he's lying in BPL he would be getting free ration.Case 05:—There are several leaves given to the employees of Indian Railways like UL (1 year) , Maternity leave (2 years), Sick leave, etc etc and etc.Case 06:—Now when X would retire he would be getting the pension as well and after his death his wife would be getting the pension...And the list would go on and on. Some/most of these things won't be provided to the employees after privatisation. Now you may think that isn't the government providing too much to the Railway Employees.NO. First of all its not a cakewalk to get into the railways, you need to clear several exams even for a Group D post. And railway employees work tirelessly to maintain the rythm of the Indian Railway. Also CLW; Chittaranjan; West Bengal where my mother works is the oldest production unit of India and the largest in the world, yes you had read it right largest in the world as it consists of 10,000 employees, it has also made the world record of producing 431 engines in the session 2019–2020 of which my mother was also a part (proud son of a world record holder). So next time while you are boarding any electric locomotive (train) just know one thing its engine is made by CLW.Yes almost all the engines of an electrical locomotive are made only by CLW.Image source:— Our calendar.Thank you.DivAna ↗️.
