Do you know there lies a magic gateway between KU (Kurukshetra University) and NIT Kurukshetra?There’s something special about KU that makes NIT recruit most of their faculties from it. Go through the institute’s website, search for the faculty section and you would know it. Most of the faculties bio reads as “ PhD from Kurukshetra University” or “PhD from NIT Kurukshetra”. Imagine, a national level institute having such a contracted set of faculties. The quality of faculties (exceptions do exist), in terms of behaviour (if not knowledge), is sub-par. There are some faculties in the institute who are rude to an extent where they frighten students about non-completion of their degrees. There are people in here who are known not for their works but for their rudeness. Bless them! It would be difficult for you to spot profs who are really doing anything substantial in their fields. The plight of research activities here cannot even be stated into words. Most of the researches being carried out yield nothing new and are just repetition of someone else’s works.Administration here doesn’t consider students as humans, or if they do, they consider themselves as gods. You can judge the quality of the admin by the facts that even in 2019, we do not have an online procedure for semester registration, the results are still publically declared in the form of a list (while most other prominent institutes have provisions for sending results individually to students) and that they still have no effective grievance-redressal mechanism, they would make you cry before getting your work done.While things are getting better, I do not see the institute getting into top spots anytime soon. It is just some hardworking students who are keeping the pride of the institute high despite all odds.

Okay, those who’re now thinking of taking admission here just like the one who asked this question and took it(sad for him), take a step back, move away!It’s the usual Engineering 3rd tier college with nothing but a fake dilemma of talent. The CSE department of college follows a decade old curriculum, with nothing advanced to learn.Not to forget, not a single student here is actually passionate or enthusiastic about the field. Most are either just to get a degree or some rich brats just trying to show off in college, forming groups, meetups and partying. Almost all department faculties (except just one who is the most strict and updated) are too much biased, and focus on academics rather than real technologies to learn or actual practical knowledge.Irony: The degree is not even B.E., it’s B.Tech (-_-)There’s no coding or development culture here, the college claims of it’s clubs and chapters which are nothing but names where most students don’t even know shit except a very very few to the counts of 1–5. I’ve myself tried too hard to create a culture and myself learn something but I wasted my time.Not to forget, the students focus on tests and exams, make a habit of scoring even 9.5–10 CGPA’s but have not knowledge of real software development. (Ps.: They know theory but have done nothing leading to it.)Projects? Copy-paste from github/kaggle! (Glory glory…)Last but not the least, it boasts of high percentages of placements where it dumps it’s all students into some mass-recruiting companies or some dumb training companies, no matter how technically good students are. It boasts of several rankings and awards but has no eligibility to be even called a college to actually learn. Also, don’t forget the monopoly and internal politics, it’s just et voila! Oh, and if you’re thinking of college’s new strategy of A.I. CSE, forget it and run away from this scam…One who’s actually passionate for the field can only learn how to survive through bogus for 4 years and will think of himself/herself as a fool for a single decision: taking admission in this college!
