May 6, 2008. My husband of 28 years came home early from work one day, sat down at the table and told me he was just fired for having an affair with a 25 year old girl at work. In that moment, with that one sentence, everything inside me shut down and I was in shock, numb. Until then, I had truly believed he was my best friend and I was a lucky woman.We ended up losing our dream home, went bankrupt, sold everything of value and cashed out our retirement to survive (I have a good job but his salary was 4x's mine). We now live in a small apartment like we did when we first got married. Those are just "things" though. What hurts most is how it affected the future of our (then) teen children. We couldn't help them through college or keep them on health, dentist, and car insurance. All for a few quick fucks.He is extremely remorseful and worked long and hard to win my heart back. Our marriage counselor considers us a huge success story. I have forgiven him and all seems happy now. But secretly, whatever it was that went numb inside me on May 6th at that breakfast table, has never come back to me. I'm afraid it never will.I hope if you are married, or even happily employed, that this post will make you think twice should you need to.

The day came i.e. 30th November 2019 which will mark a new beginning for my father. He successfully completed 35 years 5 months 4 days in one of the prestigious organization SBI as an officer cadre and one of the prominent leaders in SBI association in Odisha circle.It is one of my emotional and proud day for me when I was witnessing his retirement function and listening such kind words from his colleagues. Thank you to my father who gave me a surrounding among the bankers community who are regarded as one of the elite community in our society.In the current era of job and environment, I am sceptical if I can work till 60 years of age and always get disturbed and frustrate with little bit of stress work and decides to leave the job. But my father despite surrounded by public and huge workload , he managed to complete his career with an impeccable record of his service. He has taught me never to be dishonest with your work and always be loyal to your service because the organisation gives you bread and butter.The entire day was reminding me that from tomorrow I will not be able to introduce myself as banker son rather retired banker son. The pride which I was carrying due to this great brand SBI who has not only given my father and his family a social respect in public life but also helped my family and me to get better life. I would like to thank and grateful to SBI and it was an honor to be associated with this organization.I wished my mother would have been alive and had seen the moment. We missed you a lot. She died in 2012 and after that my father has manage to live his life and continued his career. Due to my posting in Bangalore, I was not able to come to home frequently but he still helped himself by cooking and used to go to his office daily with no leaves.Its not the end but a new beginning and hope that his retirement life will be a joyous ride.Once again, thank you SBI and high regards to all the SBI staffs, who are working as a real public servant and helping our nation to be financial inclusive. Keep up the good work and as the slogan says “ The Banker to every Indian” . I have seen how my father has constantly worked and given his life to the service with least number of leaves in his career which inspires me everyday to work and earn.Happy New Beginning ~ Dad.

Push my lazy ass off the bed, go around Marine drive, see the sun rising, walk along moist sand, get drenched in salty sea water, feel the wind ticking in through my beard and sip a couple of tender coconuts for last time!Being a student, the Indian ritual of buying saree for your mom with your first salary would remain unaccomplished. So I'll rather buy her best saree my pocket money could get.Watch a couple of episodes “FRIENDS”, Game of thrones and my favorite movie “Shawshank redemption” for one last time.Buy myself the best meal. Have a quiet time alone for lunch eating all the junk stuff restricted. Maybe click a snaps and let my gym trainer burn his calories with frustration.Make a call, confessing my feelings to that never achievable crush. Tell her how much she's gonna miss my stalking.Leave a few notes for friends & family. Maybe even consider donating organs to the needy in it. Hoping to do something worth remembering at least past life.Also a note to donate my assignments, journals, projects to some of my procastinating friends and save their ass during submissions.Clear my browsing history.Enjoy being alive one last time (ahem) & then again make sure browsing history completely & totally deleted.Write couple of humourous answers on Quora and a blog saying goodbye to some wonderful people inhere.Turn on my air-conditioner, grab a book, a snack maybe, get myself tucked in a blanket waiting for death to strike!Come back and haunt those who read the answer and scrolled down without upvoting!Image source: gallery.
