Certain sacrifices are necessary when a pandemic is ruling the entire country.Congress leader criticized the scrapping of question hour as “Murdering of democracy”.But does not he know that Punjab, which is under congress rule also scrapped question hour.Also question hour scrapped in Maharashtra , of which Congress is a ruling partner.The Parliament is scheduled for September 14th.Also conducting the sessions in the pandemic is a big risk.It seems that Lok sabha and Rajya sabha sessions will not be held simultaneously, but in shifts.The main agenda of the houses to pass some bills and their discussion.The question hour is scrapped taking the hours of conduct into consideration.Also it is noted that the questions will be asked not orally, but through written request 15 days n advance, so that the concerned minister can be well prepared. But the follow up question asked instantly.So the members are losing the right of asking followup questions.I hope some other provision is provided to ask the followup questions also through remote method.Another point is raised that the question should be sent 15 days in advance and question hour scrapped is known on September 1st. 14 days before, so they can not ask question which is to be answered on 14th.But the session is going to run for about 20 days.It seems a baseless argument.Why not the opposition prepare questions now.Instead they should have demanded to reduce the time from 15 days to ten days and provision for followup questions in remote manner.We do not forget that on 4 previous occasions also the question hour has been dispensed with.One of them for the purpose declaring emergency.Some of the parties which supported proclamation of Emergency in 1977 have not criticized government of scrapping of question hour then, are now raising their voices against such move for a reasonable cause of pandemic.JAI HINDImage source:- Google

I worked with S. S had a bad habit - of hijacking meetings. It infuriated me. My manager (who shared a boss with S) told me that learning to steer the conversation back is an important skill I need to learn.At the next meeting (that I had called), S raised a point at the very outset. 2 people jumped at answering it. I stood up and said “I emailed the agenda and supporting documentation to this entire group 3 days back. The point that S has raised is well beyond the scope of this meeting. Let us get back to what we need to discuss.” S kept insisting that without answering his question, the entire agenda is moot. So I asked him why he did not email me 3 days back when I had sent off my email.S was pissed. He tried for 10 minutes to have his point discussed. Finally, 15 minutes into my 30 minute meeting, he left. We talked but did not reach much of a conclusion. I set a followup meeting for the next day and did not invite S. Of course, S shows up and demands that his point be discussed. Now, I pulled the ace out of my sleeve - I told him that I had talked with his boss’ boss’ boss and his point will be discussed next quarter. And then I said “You are welcome to leave.”After that, I would not invite S and if he showed up, I would tell him that this is not the meeting he is looking for. :)
