Windows Phone, Microsoft (2010)Microsoft made up its mind to launch Windows Phone but took a very late step in the world of smartphones. Apple Phones had already created a great impact in the smartphone world. Android phones were already in the market for 2 years. It was officially launched in 2004 and gained 1 million users in one month only. MySpace first try to ignore Facebook but later on started copying it.They have poorly designed their interface and faulty applications on the site. No doubt they have an amazing marketing strategy, but from the technical side, they were far behind from other platforms.Facebook and Twitter have continuously rolled out major changes, new features, and redesigned their UI that have helped them to reshaped the social web for better, whereas MySpace remained stagnant for most of the time and never made a comeback.11. SegwayPerhaps no gadget evokes the early turn of the century like the Segway, a personal motorized scooter that riders control by leaning in one direction or another. It is a long, tiring, full of turns and twists, and an unpredictable journey. These factors combined with a huge applicant pool makes it one of the toughest exam in the country, if not the planet. Let us delve a little deeper:It is 2020 and CGL'18 is still underway. Those who have graduated in 2018 like me, would still be unemployed if they relied on just this exam. The predecessor CGL'17 has thankfully concluded after successfully executing many dramatic episodes.In the wake of corruption charges and subsequent CBI investigation, SSC had to reorganise itself. They had to change their vendors. They even changed their website. I suppose, changing looks trump efforts.It is a 3 level exam, which includes both objective and subjective papers. For some posts, you are required to go through a Computer Proficiency Test. And every level has its own cut-off now. So one has to keep performing throughout the different stages.An applicant base of 15 to 20 lakhs for some 10,000 average vacancies takes the selection ratio to 1:200(approx). Not just that. Many, who get selected, appear again to improve ranks to get their preferred service or location. So that takes a fresh candidate chances further down.The salary and perks of these jobs after the introduction of 7th CPC has become quite lucrative. Gone are the days when only average student would apply for this exam. These days, IIT, NIT and other top-tier college graduates, post-graduates are applying. This makes it extremely competitive.Lastly, it is an organised exam. It offers a wide range of jobs available in the country. These days, SSC has even included some gazetted post in the list, which takes it a notch further. CGL, in itself, is not tough at all. It is designed for an average graduate. But the competitive pool of candidates make it way tougher than it was intended. And it will get worse. If you can, take your shot now.
