What are your 12th CBSE board results for 2018?
12th results!!I am completely shattered after seeing my results. I got 20% less than I ever expected. I'm not going to blame any teacher or the CBSE copy checking panel. I'm the only one responsible for this.I got 74.8%!Being an Introvert kind of guy, I never discussed this with anyone. And, I'm writing my heart out now. I chose to go anonymous not to save myself from the harsh comments from you all, but there's a reason behind it. I'll talk about it later in this post.I scored a decent score in Class 10th i.e. 9.8 CGPA , though it's not very good and is quite easy to score, but it was very exciting for me to get this, being a general student who just started focusing on his studies, from Class rank 32(in 9th) to 4th(in 10th). Actually, I started aspiring for JEE in 10th and ever since then I devoted around 14 hrs in my studies daily since the class 10th exans went over (but this didn't lasted long). And, I'm not ranting about it. I actually visited my teacher's house and studied from 7 in the morning to 6 in the evening( I use to study on my own, I barely used to take his help). Then self study at home after returning back home. While preparing so I became an isolated guy, whose only friends were books and obviously computers, which is my only love since childhood. And then class 10th results were out and I was too much determined for JEE that I thought to join any Government college and will just visit there to give my exams. But, then my teachers suggested me to join Regular Schooling, so I did the same.Remember that, I was a silent kind of person, whose one and only AIM was to crack JEE Advanced with a rank, which atleast makes me get into a Good IIT. But, every thought doesn't changes into reality and who says personality doesn't changes. I changed a lot in past 2 years, from a silent boy to a boy who became chatterbox for his friends, and number of friends increased by a ratio of 10. And, here's where I did the real mistake. Now, I say to each and every student who aspires to be successful, that try to be who you really are, don't change yourself and your routine until you accomplish your dreams. So, I mentioned that I changed a lot. And, this transition made me a good person but distracted from my AIM. I didn't mean to say that, one can't manage friends and studies at the same time, but I'm not of that type. Here's the chart comparing what I expected and what I got:Expectations:Boards : 93%Main : 240–260 MarksAdvanced : Rank between 3000–4000Reality:Boards : 74.8%Main : 39(I belong to ST category)Advanced : Gave exam! Result is not out yet, and won't be getting enough marks to get qualified. (EDIT: Marks-39, Cutoff not cleared)I never ever thought of getting such a shameful 2-digit marks, and getting selected just because l belong to ST caste. I'm Caste Reservation Hater, I believe in knowledge. But, while registering my family said to type in ST, in which I wanted to write GEN. So, I'm not at lot satisfied with my Mains result. As per the boards results are concerned, I'm completely shattered. And, I have an issue that no matter how long I try, I can't shed tears I cry in very very very drastic situation. So, I'm looking like a person who's very happy within. But, I am not. :(Since, yesterday I ignored a lot of calls just because I haven't met any situation like this before. Everyone has hoped a lot from me. As I belong to middle class family with high hopes.I see my family members loosing hopes. And, what and why would anyone expect from a student who couldn't even score 75% in such an easy exam! A close relative of mine who used to say, “This boy has a bright future and will excel his dreams. He will definitely conquer triumph over his dreams”.The same relative called my parents today and said, “This jerk will not study, and got deteriorated!”.And, that relative is 100% right. I definitely failed to achieve what I always ranted about. So, what I'm going to do next.Dropping my AIM?Shattering my family's hopes? And, choosing a new passion? My answer to all these is NO! I'm going to correct all my mistakes. So, I'm thinking to drop this year and re appear for JEE + Improvement test in any subject(Boards). As, 75% is the minimum barrier for JEE and I myself is not satisfied with the marks. I was expecting around 85% after my exams. And, I always wanted to get 94–95% in 12th. And, the only person responsible for all this is me.Meanwhile, I thought to prepare on my own. But, a close cousin suggested me to get admitted into a coaching institute. As there they'd help you in solving questions in minimum time.If my family supports and could manage FEES to get me admitted in any Institute! I'll do that. Or else I'd prepare on my own. As, I know I can. Because I wasn't able to prepare well. And, Self-Study is something, which I prioritised the last. And, that's one of my biggest mistake.Few good points about me, which I personally felt and my teachers and acquaintances said!I learn topics in very detail, which is enough to teach someone.I understand things on the very first go. That means, when a teacher teaches any topic. I don't feel any doubt in the theory.I've a stretchable brain, that means I don't have brain like the Top students. But, I can stretch my brain to get one like theirs. But, If I manage two things at once that stretchable mind shrinks back to its minimum just like a rubber does when we 1st stretch it and then leave it.A demerit of mine! -> I blurred out the line between What's interesting and what's important!I'd firstly change my contact number for an year. And, will get a new one. And, will not be in contact with any of my friends because I won't be able to concentrate. This doesn't means they distract me. The reality is, I devote time in nonsense chats if I'm with them.I'm going to submit this Android Phone and will purchase a new SIM and will insert it into a simple Keypad device.Even if I choose dropping with Institute or without any, I'd edit this answer from the room of the college I always wanted to get into. So, I want to ask you all a few questions! I'll open this answer in September to check the answers.Q1. Is there any method by which I can keep a SIM card for an year without using it?Q2. Am I doing right?Q3. If I can't cry, is there's any medical error in me?Q4. What I should know before applying for CBSE improvement exam, and how to do that!?I went anonymous just to make my juniors understand what they may face, if they try to change themselves. Also because, I won't be able to answer too many questions, which you all might ask.And yes, The decision to choose IIT is mine. No one else forced me to prepare for them. It my AIM to be there. And, This year I'll definitely work hard with minimal or null distractions. Now, I assure you that this answer will be re-edited from an IIT. Dont think I'm saying all these in OverConfidence, it's just a promise + challenge by me to myself. This answer might not help anyone, but I'm a textrovert kind of person(only expressive on Chats). So, I just wanted to discuss all these.EDIT(15th June):History:Joined one of Local ALLEN/RESONANCE/FIITJEE. (Can't disclose)Studied every concept thoroughly, performed well initially then got stable around October(due to the fact that most of the students in my batch were aiming for 180 marks in Main and 140–150 Marks in Advanced, and being with them I adopted it as my goal as well. And, was getting the same marks throughout the year, with a bit of fluctuations. In the month of November, I asked myself was this the aim, I dropped with. But till then, things got a bit off track. Then came JEE MAIN (JAN), performed poorly, got stuck in few questions and invested around 10–15 mins each. Resulted in 105 marks with 91.73 percentile(which sounded good initially but after knowing the results of my fellow mates, got sad, and started to prepare again for the April one)Revised every concept smartly, and attemped all question papers of JAN(in the month in March after completing CBSE Improvement exams), got average score of 210–220.Performed satisfactory attempted around 62–64 questions, and expected 240 marks. But not every question was correct after matching with the unofficial answer keys. And, I was getting around 208. But, when official answer key was released that score decreased to 188, and got 97.86 percentile(expected around 98.5+). But, this was satisfactory.#2018 Results:Boards : 74.8%Main : 39(I belong to ST category)Advanced : Gave exam! Result is not out yet, and won't be getting enough marks to get qualified. (EDIT: Marks-39, Cutoff not cleared)#2019 Results:Boards(CBSE IMPROVEMENT) : 86.8%Main : 188 [GEN RANK-24xxx, CATEGORY(ST) RANK-15x]Advanced : 110 [GEN RANK-17xxx, CATEGORY(ST) RANK-12x]Maybe, I'm not that good at PCM, so ended up with this result.Am I sad? Yes. (Reason is, CRL rank is not that satisfactory)Do I regret? No, Not at all. (Because, I have changed a lot as a person, and I've matured a lotNext Answer : Someone anonymous's answer to What is your review of 2019 JEE advanced result? Are you satisfied with your result? What's the greatest experience you've had when your flight was delayed?
Many years ago I was stationed in Iceland and needed to come back to the U.S. for a conference, followed by training. It was decided that I should travel commercially to New York (via Icelandair, which was the only airline serving the U.S. market at the time), and then onward via domestic airlines. This meant getting into Kennedy in the late afternoon, then going to LaGuardia for my next leg based on the city pair involved. So, I spent the night in Queens and got over to the airport for the first flight out in the morning, a TWA L-1011 widebody. We had a long wait to board our very full flight, got settled in, and then heard an announcement about an aircraft problem that would require a lengthy repair. I tend to be kind of Type A about a lot of things, but I had a full day to get to my destination and wasn't at all concerned about eventually making it, so I just sat in the plane while everyone else piled off, and then wandered forward to ask the pilot about the specific problem they'd had -- it sounded interesting, and I knew it'd be a madhouse trying to rebook anyway.I found the (large) crew, along with one other passenger, hanging out in first class waiting to be told whether or not they should stay with the airplane or get re-assigned. I got a very friendly welcome to their conversation, marking kind of a first for me -- in the early 1980s, people often weren't very tolerant of military members. The discussion turned to the recent bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut (which the crew was extremely angry about), which again was a surprise to me... it was nice to know that civilians actually cared about that. After a pleasant half-hour or so, I decided to step out and see how the lines were for re-booking. The other passenger left as I did. We looked at the still-miserable line, and he asked me, "Why didn't you get off right away?" I told him I had plenty of time and figured there were a lot of people who had a more urgent need to get on with their trips than I did. He smiled and said, "Want some breakfast?" That sounded like a good idea, so he took the lead. I knew nothing about LaGuardia, but was surprised when we wound up in an elevator. It opened to the TWA Ambassador's Club, where the other gentleman was greeted by name and introduced me as his guest. He showed me where the buffet line was and excused himself to make a phone call. When he rejoined me, he told me he had found an alternate flight for himself, and that I was welcome to stay as long as I liked. He left, and I continued to enjoy breakfast and a great few of the ramp and main runway, with Long Island Sound beyond them.A few minutes later, one of the hostesses came over to me and said, "Excuse me, Captain -- may I have your ticket for a moment?" I hadn't recalled telling her my rank, but gave her the ticket and watched her go back to the reception desk with it. She came back shortly with a smile and said, "Mr. --- asked us to get you re-booked. You're all set for the 10:30 flight to St Louis. Thanks for your service." I have no idea who my benefactor was, but he obviously had some serious clout with the airline... typically, guests had to leave when their sponsor left (which I didn't), and my re-booking was into first class. Awesomely kind treatment of a young, jet-lagged non-entity.
