PDF Editor FAQ

Have you ever caught a nurse doing something they should not have?

It was actually a medical orderly. We were showering disabled people and one particularly difficult patient was in one cubicle with the medical orderly. The patient has brain injured and used to lash out quite violently. I walked in on them as I was getting a towel to find the orderly flicking the nose of the patient. His nose started to bleed. I was appalled and went straight to the charge Nurse and told her what I’d seen. He was a horrible man and he lost his job.

Did medics really got shot at in WW2?

Yes.But you know, the WW2 was a war of an industrial era. In a war of an idustrial era typically only snipers and anti-tank gunners shoot at specific targets. Artillery and infantry more often than not simply create a “death zone” saturating an area with flying metal, which is not flying at anyone in particular, but hits everyone equally…And the medics had to be at the forefront, right there where it was bloodiest, so they got hit. A lot.In the Red Army the medical personnel mortality rate was second only to riflemen. Average lifetime of a medical orderly on an active battlefield was… 41 seconds.During the war the Red Army had lost over 80 thousand orderlies, over 10 thousand paramedics and over five thousand medical doctors. Then again - on a battlefield you wouldn’t really tell an orderly from a common soldier (except that soviet orderlies were female, but I don’t think the GErmans paid much attention). The snipers were known to deliberately wound, not kill an exposed target to make someone crawl over to drag him back (presumably a medical orderly). Than that one can be wounded too, potentially drawing out even more people.

What's the weirdest order you've ever been given in the military?

Not to me, but to my buddy Ray.Ray had a cyst in his cheek; I guess it was a zit that somehow never popped and instead got infected. Anyway, Ray went to sick call one day, got it checked out and was sent to the post medical activity, whereupon an Army doc decided to go ahead and lance, drain and stitch up Ray’s face cyst. So Ray comes back to duty late in the day with a couple of stitches, some antibiotics, a few doses of pain medication, some gauze and tape to change the wound dressing, and written medical orders to NOT SMILE (apparently this could have damaged the stitches in his cheek).Ray’s platoon sergeant was a jerk, a real Grade A dickhead. So when he saw Ray’s medical orders, he took them as a challenge to *make* Ray laugh. He spent the next several days telling the most hilarious (and in some cases, the *dirtiest*) jokes he could come up with, all in an attempt to make Ray laugh. It was all Ray could do to keep from laughing at his Plt Sgt’s jokes (some *were* really good), but every time Ray started to crack a grin, Sergeant Z cut loose with a “DON'T YOU FRICKIN’ SMILE, BONEHEAD.”Definitely the strangest order I ever heard.

Feedbacks from Our Clients

The google chrome extension worked really well since you can't just click on something in drive and easily open it - and I've had issues with Adobe for some time. This software did what I needed it to do multiple times.
