PDF Editor FAQ

Why would Michael Cohen secretly record his conversations with Donald Trump?

Apparently NY is a state where you can record a conversation you have with someone else without getting that person’s consent. So, from a legal standpoint, Cohen appears to be okay in that regard, even if it is considered to be shady behavior from an ethical standpoint.I’m not a lawyer, but my work involves working with clients. Let me tell you a story that might help you understand why Cohen felt he needed to do this.I had a project with a client that I worked regularly with. This client is extremely difficult who never accepts responsibility for things that go wrong—they blame the contractor even for stuff that the contractor has no control over.On this particular project, the scope of the project called for an installation that was unusual and required some coordination. Knowing full well how this client rolls, I took careful notes as to exactly how that work was going to be done, the equipment that was agreed upon, and the sequence of the work. Those notes went into the scope of work, which had to be approved by the client’s representatives before work could be started. That scope of work was approved by the client.Months later, the client wanted to change the work—just as the final construction drawings were going out. I pulled up the scope of work that everyone had signed off on, and told the client that the change would result in a change order since we now had to go back and revise nearly all of the drawings. In addition to that, it would delay construction because obviously, we needed to reissue the drawings after correcting them. The client tried to not pay for the work and tried to blame us for not taking into account the proposed solution. I had notes to that effect as well—that indeed I HAD suggested that the work the client now wanted to do was work I had suggested they do at the time the scope of work was being hammered out since what they wanted to do was so complicated it didn’t make sense. The client rejected my suggestion because they thought my solution would have cost them more money than their complicated solution.Because I had taken careful notes and explicitly laid it out in the scope of work document that they had signed, the client knew at that point they were cornered—they had the signed off scope agreement, and they had my notes testifying that the work they wanted done had been suggested and rejected at the beginning of the project. Even they couldn’t find any way to blame us, and they are pretty creative at doing exactly that. So they agreed to issue the drawings as they were, and they would as-built the work in the field.Donald Trump is like this client.Anyone working with Trump surely knows they have to cover their ass. Cohen in particular, being Trump’s “fixer”, knows that Trump dabbles in questionable behavior, and that questionable behavior could bring him down as well—some of that stuff he’s done over the years he knows could put him in jail or result in his disbarrment if he ever got caught. He also knows Trump lies about everything, and he needed to have assurance that he’d never get blamed by Trump if anything went wrong. So, like me when I deal with this client, he kept records when dealing with Trump. For me, it was saving email and being careful with producing detailed documentation. For him, he simply taped everything. No difference. It’s what sane, intelligent people do when they knowingly engage with dishonest assholes who they know will throw them under the bus when things go bad. You keep records.

Is life better in Europe, Canada, or the USA?

If you are wealthy, life is good in all of these. If you are poor, life will not be good in any of these. But if you are a working member of society with an average income, I will say this:in the US, your life will be good as long as you are strong, young, and healthy; I left because I understood eventually that youth and health are not eternal;in Canada, your life will be good as long as you are happy with the scope of work- and lifestyle choices available there (and I left Canada because I wasn’t);in Europe, your life will be good by world standards at any station of your life, with a scope of professional opportunity like in the US, and an amazing variety of lifestyle choices within many different cultures, languages, and national frameworks. For me, Europe is the safest bet to find a life that will not land you at the deep end, while also offering a dazzling variety of opportunities and experiences.

What is the current scope of the Internet of Things in India?

There is real need of IOT devices in India. We are small business developing and selling IOT devices and we are finding lot of orders, shortage of time and acute shortage of skilled manpower to do the work. This acute shortage of skilled man power ensure good business opportunity for skilled people.Sadly there are very few real developers, most of the IOT experts you meet are consultants, trainers, mentors who never worked on IOT.How to enjoy the scope- Build up your profile. Let real buyer see your profile on social media and there will be no shortage of work for you.Just a small warning - Arduino+things speak + RaspberryPi is not IOT. Here is what real IOT work involves -this is me , working on Internet Controlled Traffic Lights in India. Over 90% of applicants run away when they see this pic. They want to work in airconditioned office and not in field. Real IOT devices are installed in field and you need to test/debug in real places. In short more scope as there is demand and not many to work and deliver results.Best wishes
