Yes, absolutly. As someone who lived in Houston for a decade and have lived in several other areas of Texas over the past 30 years, I can definitely say that Houstonians are crazy. Well I guess that depends on your definition of crazy. We are very different from a lot of other areas of Texas. Mainly due to socioeconomic factors, principal income sources, diversity, and a bit of undefinable “special sauce” that makes us unique. I recently had to leave Houston and I miss those crazies! Here are some reasons I say we are a bit crazy.Zoning: The city of Houston has very few zoning ordinances so you can just build anything anywhere you want. This is a huge generalization but not far off. There are several people that have taken this to extremes. I think they are cool but I’m crazy too I guess. See below. The Weird Homes Tour Houston 2017Houston roads and highways are built for about half the people that use them. This leads to constant issues. Road rage is top of mind for me as I am in my truck a lot and had to drive all over the place every day. Houstonians are crazy drivers. I had to adopt an offensive form of driving to make it through traffic with any form of sanity. This is actually becoming a big problem and as I was writing this answer, my wife came in and showed me an article about a woman that was shot today in a road rage incident in front of her 8 year old girl. There is a reason Houston (Harris County) has the highest car insurance rates in Texas. The city is always working to expand the roads but just seem to cause more problems. There is a lot of stats I can add here but I’m not sure how in depth you want to go.Sports: Finally, I want to say we are utterly crazy about our aports teams (I know this isn’t only in Houston). All the governor's have been Democrats for the last 8 years. California does elect Republican Governors also. Some red districts have turned blue during the recent midterm elections in Southern California making many Republicans blue with sadness.During the planning of the Golden Gate Bridge, they knew how many people were going to die during its construction, they also knew how many people were going to commit suicide. They were very close in their estimate numbers. Construction was one thing, because, it stopped. Suicide numbers have been predicted rather accurately long term! How did they know and how did they figure that out?About one dozen people died in the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge; most of them on the same day!California is home to the largest trees on the planet and some of the oldest; the giant Sequoia Trees. They are located at the Sequoia National Park in the Sierra Nevada mountain range.California is home to Hollywood, the film/motion picture capital of the world. Hollywood is not really a city; Hollywood is a neighborhood/district within the city of Los Angeles (wow, I just recently discovered that!).Universal Studios theme park in located in a unincorporated part of Los Angeles County in unincorporated city called Universal City, well over 70% of the theme park is located in Universal City. The other 30% is located within the city of Los Angeles. So technically, almost nobody actually lives in Universal City, because it is a theme park and studio. Firemen do live at the Los Angeles County Station 51 in Universal City, named after the old, “Emergency” TV show. The streets shown in Google Maps are part of the studio; a couple of big clues: is that Back to the Future Square is located right in the middle of what appears to be a residential area, so is Psycho House and War of the Worlds airplane crash site. In order to get into Universal City on the northwest side you enter through Universal Studios gate 2, to get in Universal Studios on the northeast side you enter through Universal Studios Muddy Waters gate 4 or you can pay the admission price and enter into Universal Studios Theme Park main gate like I did. CBX is a Port of Entry/airport terminal that connects directly into the Tijuana International Airport. This is the only type of port of entry/terminal in the world. It cost $16 US dlls one way and $30 US dlls round trip to use. About 1 million people use CBX a year and almost 6,000 people use it daily. CBX has been a win win situation for everyone. Pent up demand at the San Diego International Airport is alleviated. Tijuana Airport has prospered due to more passengers using the airport. Passengers save money because all financial transactions at the Tijuana International Airport are made in pesos. The purchasing power of Americans increased, due to the strong value of the dollar and good exchange rates.The 1969 oil spill in Santa Barbara launched the whole environment movement. Earth Day began in 1970. December 2, 1970 the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) opened for business. Hawley should resign. Hawley has the blood of 5 people all over his hands. Will Hawley resign? No of course not. Hawley would only resign when he has no options left. More than likely he will be unable to be reelected to Office. I say this because Hawley can not accept that he is finished in politics. Unfit to serve !Both of the major cities in Missouri Kansas City and St Louis newspapers editorial boards have called for Senator Hawley’s resignation. Hawley lost his book deal also. He is an embarrassment to Missouri now and the Senate. Hawley will never be reelected and his career in politics probably is over. Hawley is a freshmen Senator. Hawley was backing a Trump dictatorship —with no evidence of anything Hawley was challenging the election results and inciting a mob to support a mentally ill President. That is sedition.Hawley knew he had no legal basis to challenge the state certified election results. Mitch McConnell even tried to discourage Hawley from doing this as it was not a legal challenge. Hawley did it anyways because he wants to run for President in 2024. Hawley had no evidence to support what he claims. The election was totally fair and Biden beat Trump by a huge margin. Hawley is just a cheap two-faced politician. He has already thrown the Trump supporters under the Bus and claimed he had nothing to do with the attack on the Capitol. Those were the supporters that Hawley wanted to count on to be a Presidential contender in 2024. So Hawley is not very smart and not Presidential material any longer. Hawley is just about as fake as Ted Cruz but Ted has been fake much longer. Hawley has had to disavow himself now from Trump supporters who attacked the National Capitol and that was the base Hawley was counting on to be a Presidential candidate in 2024. However Loews Hotels said :We are horrified and opposed to the events at the Capitol and all who supported and incited the actions. In light of those events and for the safety of our guests and team members, we have informed the host of the Feb. fundraiser that it will no longer be held at Loews Hotels.Loews Hotels wants NOTHING to do with Josh Hawley and told him he could not host any event on their properties.Hawleys’s book, The Tyranny of Big Tech, makes the argument that mega-tech companies, including Google, Facebook, Amazon and Apple, wield too much market power and political influence. Cruz has many Congressional figures also calling for his resignation. Cruz also was stoking fires by pushing baseless claims of election fraud with no evidence. Cruz is a douchbag and will never admit his role in what took place at the Capitol. The truth is Cruz has been egging on and inspiring riots since the election. The mob felt empowered by Ted Cruz. As rioters pushed their way down a hallway, one shouted at a police officer, “We are listening to your boss: Trump.” And as a few men looked through documents on the Senate floor, one, referring to Senator Ted Cruz, said: “I think Cruz would want us to do this, so I think we’re good.”In a perfect world both Cruz and Hawley should be expelled. Major Political donors have already met and decided that they will no longer fund Hawley or Cruz as Senators. This will be significant. Cruz is finished and so is Hawley. As they should be. Whether Cruz and Hawley get expelled from Congress now or get defeated in the next elections they face the money has dried up. You need millions to run for the Senate today and Cruz and Hawley will now have to seek individual donors. Major Corporations do not want anything to do with Senators who preach sedition and favor a dictatorship.Remember that this could very well be Ted Cruz’s last term. His continued insistence that he did nothing wrong when he indeed did do something wrong may convince the majority of Texans that Cruz needs to leave. Cruz was trying to challenge election results with no evidence of fraud. Cruz just did not like the results and claimed that his constituents did not like the results. That is not a basis to challenge the state certified Electoral College Votes. Cruz was effectively trying to create a Trump Dictatorship for a President who is mentally unfit for office. Ted Cruz is fake and dishonest. He had blood on his hands and 5 people died at the Capitol. Cruz was directly involved in creating that insurrection. Just the weekend before the Capitol siege Cruz was videotaped telling an outdoor crowd that they are Patriots for fighting for the United States of America like the Patriots at Bunker Hill and Valley Forge. The goal of Ted Cruz in the speech—keep Democrats from taking office after being legally elected. Cruz is just not a good candidate for President. Cruz has no appeal outside Texas and Trump as awful as he was destroyed Cruz in 2016. Cruz’s appeal in Texas has been eroding fast and I do not think Cruz will ever win any seriously contested election now. Cruz has exposed his hypocrisy for all the world to see now. Ted Cruz’s Communications Director ,Lauren Blair Bianchi, who had worked with Cruz since July 2019 has resigned. Bianchi shared a brief statement revealing her decision to step down. Her decision was reportedly fueled by her discomfort with Cruz’s actions regarding the 2020 presidential election and his continued lies about the 2020 election.The Houston Chronicle Editorial Board has called on Ted Cruz to resign as he has blood on his hands. The San Antonio Express News has called for expulsion of Ted Cruz from the Senate. The Texas League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is demanding resignation or removal of Senator Ted Cruz for inciting acts of sedition. The El Paso Times joined the San Antonio Express-News and the Houston Chronicle in calling for Cruz to step down from the upper chamber. The El Paso Times also called on law enforcement to “thoroughly explore” what it called Cruz’s part in “inciting” the riots.Expel Ted Cruz the Douchbag Senator from Texas !
