By “original purchase receipt”, do you mean the NFA Form 4? If not, you better find it right quick with the rest of his belongings. That is your only salvation and defense against an illegal possession of an unregistered machine gun charge. If you find the Form 4 then you’re fine. Contact a lawyer who deals with firearms and the NFA to arrange transferring the gun into your name. You will be able to keep it while that process is going on.If you don’t have the Form 4 then you can’t transfer ownership. The rifle must be turned in for destruction or donated to a museum and demilled. It has negative value to you as every day it remains in your possession you have felony NFA violations hanging over your head. Once you conclude you lack the transfer paperwork with the tax stamp, contact a lawyer who does deal with NFA items and work with them to arrange surrender to the BATFE or donation in cooperation with them.The BATFE will not seek to send you or members of your family to prison as long as you are actively working to get the illegal machine gun out of your possession as quickly as possible. For those who say I don’t know US gun laws, I’m not perfect but I know a lot of them rather well. The NFA is one of the more byzantine and opaque laws out there from a regulatory enforcement side. It is not one you want to mess with even with innocent intent and past experience and history has shown the BATFE will and have sent people to jail for innocently violating it.

For example, the U.S. goods trade deficit with China (in 2018) was over $419.2 bn. That's why Trump is unhappy.Basically, China doesn't give a damn about your internal issues. As long as there are economic opportunities, China will be more than happy to do business with you.If you are a totally poor nation, China will give you loans to build your economy (such as via Belt and Road initiative).So, for China, it doesn't really matter whether you have Obama or Trump in the White House.
