The counseling procedure.Consider this - for the year 2013, IIT Bombay Computer Science closed at All India Rank 59.Seriously? They mean to tell me that the people who were so passionate about Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and had never even typed in even a single line of code (obviously an exaggeration, but is true for more than 75% of the candidates) suddenly developed an interest in Computer Science?This is a major reason for lack of "engineers" and the huge number of people trying to go towards management studies.Because in India, you do not choose the branch; the branch chooses you.Edit - I think I need to clarify this isn't a rant about everyone just taking CSE in any institute he or she gets. The problem is with going by the hype and the money involved with the branch, rather than studying what you're interested in. The case was an example. The thing to be changed is the counseling procedure, which is what I clearly mentioned, at the very top. Please read answers properly before just going over to the comment section to rant. I've highlighted it now so more people take notice.

But, upon researching, I find (hypothetically) that most seniors get paid a wage/salary that is fairly commensurate with their position, skills, and experience.What to do, what to do?Do I admit that the average senior citizen isn’t getting screwed in the market?Or do I rebase my statistics to include retirees in my average?It’s easy to show that senior citizens are being paid much less on average if the average includes large numbers of those who aren’t being paid.Now, three or four people standing on a corner very clearly is not what anyone is thinking of when they think of “a BLM protest”. It is also very unlikely to result in violence.I’d love to get the raw data that ACLED used and see how the numbers shake out if we put the cutoff at, say, 25+ people, or 50+ people.I’m not saying that I’m certain it would show that a majority are violent (though I’m virtually certain the percentage would be higher than 7% by a large margin). But it would at least be a meaningful result—as opposed to this, which tells us nothing of value but pretends to validate the position of one side of the debate.I don’t call this study bullshit because it disagrees with “my side” of politics—I don’t care about that. I’m calling it bullshit because it’s a bad study—or at least, shamefully distorted presentation of the study’s findings.Seriously though, if someone can find the raw data (and it includes rough counts of participants at each demonstration), I’d love to dig into it—I’m sure there’s something useful there.Original Question:“What do you think of this article stating over 93% of BLM protests were peaceful?“

I belong to the PGDBA 2018–2020 batch. I spent one semester at ISI Kolkata.ISI professors are GODS. They are amongst the best in the country in their respective domains.A unique style of assignment evaluation was adopted by one of our professor. Every week he used to assign problems from the topics covered . Next week during the tutorial class he ran a R code to generate a random number from set of roll numbers to determine which student would be solving the problem (on board) . There was 10 marks for it and given the difficulty level of the paper set by him, the 10 marks were worth in Gold. Every time a student’s roll number would come up, he would add it to a new array such that the probability of him/her getting selected in subsequent tutorials would diminish.Rest in peace Ctrl C+ Ctrl V.
