Why don't Christians get along?

That's very interesting. I have friends from many different denominations that I talk with very regularly ... some non-denominational, some PCA, EPC, Reformed, Southern Baptist, etc. My wife was in a Southern Baptist Convention church in Connecticut (very rare!) before we got married, and my membership was in a Conservative Congregational Christian Convention church. We settled on a Conservative Baptist Association church. When was at my 4C's church, one time, I served on registration for an apologetics conference with keynote speaker Alister McGrath (Church of England). Just out of personal curiosity, I took a peek through the list of churches/denominations represented: not surprisingly, most of the local area Evangelical churches were represented (Vineyard Christian Fellowship, Cavalry Chapel, Hope Fellowship Church = Southern Baptist, High Rock = Evangelical Covenant, some Assemblies of God churches, PCA, OPC, EPC, etc.) Even a handful of Catholics and a couple of Eastern Orthodox. However, no Fundamentalist churches, and no sectarian churches like nobody from the Boston Church of Christ or the Boston International Christian Church.I copy and paste a paragraph written by Park Street Church's senior minister, Gordon P. Hugenberger, quoted in Garth Rosell's "Boston's Historic Park Street Church":"The new evangelicals, however, differ from their fundamentalist brothers in four important respects. First, evangelicals seek to 'major on the majors' and refuse to divide over important, but nevertheless secondary issues like church polity, baptism, eschatology, spiritual gifts, women in church leadership, and so on... Second, evangelicals desire to avoid moralistic legalism while promoting true holiness and Christlike wholeness of character. Third, evangelicals strenuously affirm the social implications of the gospel. As Rosell notes, already in 1934, long before the modern civil rights movement, Ockenga denounced racism from the pulpit as 'one of the greatest problems and sins of our country' and proclaimed our redemption in Christ as the basis for its most radical solution. In other messages he addressed issues of class, labor, management, and exploitation of the poor. Fourth and finally, evangelicals desire to avoid the anti-intellectualism and hostility toward science which at times has characterized fundamentalism and has hindered its serious cultural engagement and scriptural witness."See, I see a lot of cooperation between Evangelicals. I write occasionally for the interdenominational The Christian Apologetics Alliance and CAA CatechismAt the same time, for Systematic Theology III at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, I had to write a "Personal Statement of Faith" covering primary issues and as many of the secondary issues as much as possible within a 15-page limit. Emphasis is on secondary: while some of them might be important, interpretation thereof doesn't mean someone who disagrees with me as not a Christian. We're talking about issues like eschatology (which millennialism is it? rapture in relationship if pre-millennial?), polity (high church? low church? in between? the role of women in leadership?), baptism (proper recipients? mode? effect?), the view of the Lord's Supper/Communion (Zwinglian / Calvinist / Lutheran / Catholic?), how do we interpret Genesis 1+2, position on inerrancy, gifts of the Holy Spirit and operation of the Holy Spirit, ordo salutis, etc.Besides, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, which is considered Evangelical, allows many students from lots of different denominations, e.g., Denominational Information and ChartI've never been booted from any church on my views (well, most of the time, people don't really ask me about my secondary issue views). I've never called anyone a heretic on any secondary view. I have good friends who have very different views than I do. I've visited ... oh, let's say, about 50 churches worldwide and in the United States ... and no churches have collapsed on me. We're talking like smaller and bigger churches (the larger ones included Kingsway Baptist in Burnaby, BC; Tenth Avenue Alliance in Vancouver, BC; the Alliance church in Paris, France; Menlo Park Presbyterian; Northpoint Alpharetta, GA -- Andy Stanley's church; Redeemer Presbyterian Manhattan, NY; Grace Chapel, Lexington, MA; Park Street Church, Boston MA). I've also listened to Christian radio and enjoy a number of speakers nation-wide. So ...Maybe it's just me. It's a statistical anomaly and too small of a data set. But I think in general Evangelicals get along pretty well. Now, granted, let's toss some caveats.Eastern Orthodox. Interestingly, we enjoy some interaction with Eastern Orthodox; I spent time at their seminary taking Patrology. Barry Corey, the current president of Biola University was the son of my church's minister of visitation and was the senior minister of a Greek Evangelical and Orthodox congregation.Roman Catholics. We actually get along with Roman Catholics and would agree with them except for papal and Marian dogmas. We've occasionally had some Catholics at Bible studies/small groups.Sectarian Groups, like the Boston Church of Christ or the Boston International Christian Church, who tend to sheep-steal or view non-members as not Christian. They're not as welcome. We usually dis-invite them on sight.Since this is getting long and it would be extremely long-winded to get into specifics, let me end it there ... I'll take specific comments or questions.

Which government makes laws in the international waters, up in the sky, and in space?

No single government determines the rules and regulations pertaining to international waters, air space and outer space. Rather, such norms are determined by the concord of individual nations under specific agreements or custom. The scope and norms of international airspace are not regulated by treaty but are defined by international customary law.In the case of both international waters and outer space the relevant agreements (primarily the Third United Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea [UNCLOS III], the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies [The Outer Space Treaty], Agreement on the Rescue of Astronauts, the Return of Astronauts and the Return of Objects Launched into Outer Space [the Rescue and Return Agreement], Convention on International Liability for Damage Caused by Space Objects [Liability Convention], Convention on Registration of Objects Launched into Outer Space [Registration Convention], and Agreement Governing the Activities of States on the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies [the Moon Treaty]) were negotiated under the auspices of the United Nations. The authority given to these instruments, however, arises not through that international organization but through the ratification by each nation of the individual agreements.
