The left wing doesn’t get the same kinds of things that the right wing doesn’t get. Washington DC and the antics of the politicians is a giant distraction that the press plays on. Here is an example of why I say this. Everyone, the left and the right wing along with the press is saying that the United States has record low unemployment. The lowest since the 1960’s. The chart below is the official statistics courtesy of the US BLS.And yet, this is a complete lie. The BLS knows it is a lie. Congress knows it is a lie. The press knows it is a lie. The formula for calculating unemployment was changed dramatically during the Clinton administration to make it look like Clinton’s economy was doing better than it was. Any comparison of today’s unemployment rate and that of the time before the Clinton administration is invalid. A group called shadow stats keeps statistics according to the old formula that preceded Clinton.The blue line above is the pre-1994 calculation, the gray line is U-6 which is reported by BLS as the broadest unemployment while the red line is the “headline” unemployment statistics.As you can see, unemployment hasn’t changed much since everyone got fired in 2008. It’s a lie that everyone in Washington is willing to go with. Meanwhile they fight over a justice to the supreme court as if that is going to make a difference. It is a distraction. Trump is a distraction.The truth is that since the financial emergency, the world including especially the US government has put debt creation into high gear. Why? Because debt is monetized and therefore, a kind of wealth for those who own it. This is the way that the worlds wealth is increasing. Massive debt creation is the only way to keep the global economy going. This is capitalism running on fumes. We are being distracted while the wealthy fiddle and the world burns and the lights could go out at any moment.Let me give you another example. We have this controversy about Colin Kaepernick taking the knee during the national anthem. Why is this a controversy? The problem for the NFL is, and no one, not the press, not the politicians are going to tell you, the problem is that the Pentagon is paying the NFL to play the National Anthem while the players stand. Don’t you wonder why Congress gets involved when there is some drug scandal in baseball? Why would Senators want to interview some slugger who is playing better baseball through chemistry? The reason the Pentagon and politicians are involved is to create a distraction for people. The more we watch sports the less attention we pay to what is really going on.Take a look around, here are some homeless people in Eugene, OR:Here is Portland:Seattle:San FranciscoDenver decided to evict their homeless. That problem does not go away:Atlanta:Every city in the US has a homeless problem. The police can arrest and evict people but to claim that there is not giant population of homeless unemployed people is a lie. To say that California has a problem and other states do not is a lie.
