Get her an Audible subscription.If she hasn’t read a book before, whether that means she has trouble reading or she just doesn’t find interest or enjoyment in the idea, audio books are great for getting people into it.Find out what her interests are in general. Does she like TV and Movies? Find books that are similar to her favorite visual stories. Search Google for “books to read if you like -insert show title here-”.I was 23 before I started actually reading books. My parents and my sister read me small books when I was a little kid but I struggled learning to read and so I never picked up the habit of reading for fun. That didn’t mean I didn’t know how to read, just that I didn’t enjoy it. When I was 25 I got a job doing data entry in a big office where no one could talk to each other but we could listen to headphones. I downloaded the Harry Potter (cliche, I know, but they are good!) audio books from some random website and decided to give them a shot just to fill the time. This was just before the last book came out. By the time Deathly Hallows was released, the audio book wasn’t going to be out for a few more weeks but all of my friends were reading the book on release night. So I picked up a copy of the book and I powered through it. It took me a couple of days - much longer than all of my friends - but I did it! It was the first full length book I’d ever read. Since then I’ve made an effort to read more and more books each year and I’m finally (9 years later) a faster and more confident reader.I’ve gotten audio books on CD from book stores, I’ve downloaded them in torrent form, I’ve borrowed some from friends, I’ve gotten them from the library, and I get a lot of classics from Librivox.org (free public domain audiobooks) - though with volunteer narrators at LibriVox it’s sometimes great and sometimes horrible, so beware - but I love Audible for its organization and versatility. I can listen on my computer or on my phone, I can pause one place and pick up in the other, and I can buy the kindle version of the book (often for only a couple dollars) and switch back and forth between audible and kindle whenever I want without losing my place. (I sound like a commercial now, but it’s amazing and I think everyone should enjoy it like I do.)Benefits to audio books over regular books: You can do other things while listening (work, drive, crafts, games, etc.) It also helps familiarize you with tones and voices and brings stories to life. That part is especially good if you have trouble reading italics or deciphering context in text. It also makes it easier when reading books out loud in the future. I used to be slow and monotone when reading, now I can narrate books to my kids with enough flare to keep them entertained.I completely recommend audio books for anyone who isn’t sure how they feel about reading but want to ease into it. The type of book you get is completely up to the reader/listener’s personal interests, but audio is the way to go for beginners.

Voice Over, in its many forms and variants is a hot-topic, big button subject these days.It's important to understand that technology today makes it possible for a single person to narrate, record, edit and "polish" a books audio from almost anywhere in the world.When you combine this to the perceived ease of entry, the lack of even low paying jobs, the ability for single parents, people with physical limitations, etc. to do this work from a home studio, it's easy to see why so many people are looking for their slice of the pie.In a very short time, Amazon, with their ACX program has manged to get their meat hooks into controlling a very large piece of that pie, and I might suggest you do some digging around ACX and their programs.I have been working voice over for over 20 years and at one time I did a considerable amount of audio book work. We called it "books on tape". Sadly, what used to be a $3,000 - $5,000 paycheck for me, now tends to pay under $1,000. And the biggest kicker is that when I recorded the books, I didn't have to edit them. You don't have to now, but if you don't, be prepared to give up a third to half of that $1,000 to an editor.So, your aunt will need to pay for and have access to a professional sounding home recording studio. Will need to learn how to use the tools to record herself. Spend some amount of time learning the "walk" and the "talk" that accompanies this work. She will need to create "demos", essentially snippets of her reading various styles of books. Probably pay for a website and some other online presence. Audition a lot against a very crowded field. Expect to get some work that will pay next to nothing, in the hopes she can work her way up the ladder.There really is quite a bit of information online, but then realize that the teaching of this stuff, along with books, workshops, etc, is a billion dollar business.If you're familiar with the California gold Rush, you'll know that most of the prospectors made very little, but the people selling the shovels and pickaxes and food and places to sleep, etc., all got rich.Voice over is a lot like that.
