Certainly there were and still there are select few politicians who care and are concerned of the citizens and the nation.These two instances will clear the doubt.K. Kamaraj, who was then the chief minister of Tamil Nadu was a known visionary. He was an uneducated man, but built more schools and dams than any other chief ministers of Tamil Nadu.He was known for his instant decisions which even surprised then PM Nehru. Kamaraj was so much particular that every kid should go to school. He was very much interested in the upliftment of the poor.Once his PA had brough a bunch of files and said that those were the details of the students who were eligible for medical seats. It's the duty of the Kamaraj to select the candidates for the medical college seat. The PA thought it would take hours to assess the details of each student and select the suitable candidates. But Kamaraj just saw the files just once and selected a list of students for whom the seats are to be given. The puzzled PA asked on what basis he selected the best candidates. He said in a simple tone “I chose the students who all had the thumb impressions in the parents signature column.” Such was his intelligence!Kamaraj was so powerful that he was the key person who chose Indira Gandhi as the Prime minister of India, a decision which he regretted later in his life. Once when Nehru was the prime minister, China had attacked india and India was unable to retaliate due to lack of advanced weapon power. India had requested USA to supply advanced arms to which USA replied that they can only supply the arms if any big International Bank can guarantee the Indian government since india was not financially strong at that time.Nehru was talking about this to Kamaraj and said he was worried as no international banks are ready to back India. Kamaraj suddenly asked “Does America have any banks in India?”, to whic nehru replied “They have Bank of America “ kKamaraj said “Just ask that bank to leave India if he cannot guarantee us.” When Nehru approached Bank of America and asked them to leave India if they cannot back India financially. Bank of America was shocked and finally decided to give guarantee and the weapons from USA reached india.That's how the leaders of the masses live.

Its an invitation only branch.Now you must be wondering what this branch offers to demand such an high amount of opening balance.Well....this 4000 sq.ft. branch consists of a conference room calledSapphire.​​Customers can also discuss their financial details over a cuppa coffee in coffee bar called the Pearl.Plus the locker facility can be availed 24*7. So customers can just visit the functions at any time and deposit their jewellery in lockers calledTopaz.​​They can even change in dressing room called the Opal.​​The branch is so extravagant that even the washrooms there are named after gems...Oynx and Garnet.Opened in 2010, this branch had a deposit of 500 crores and advances of 150 crores in just a year, changing the face of traditional banking.SBI plans to open 20 such branches across the nation.But as it seems its not possible for everyone to be part of such branch. So no worries.....SBI comes with different branch for young and working class of Hyderabad. Its called Yuva Branch.Located in Jubilee Hills, this branch cater the needs of young professionals of Hyderabad between the age of 18 to 45. The timings are also different from other SBI branches. I live in Switzerland but own a rental property in the US. The rental income goes into my US bank account.The first time I wanted to transfer money from my US bank account to my Swiss bank account - the US bank told me that the only way to do that is for me to walk into one of their branches in the US to authorise the international transaction.Meaning, I would have to fly to the US only to make a transfer between my accounts.After a long conversation, I found another way: To issue a cheque from myself to myself, and deposit it in my Swiss bank - who would then collect the money from the US bank.Takes about 3 weeks.I also regularly transfer money between my UK and Swiss bank accounts.
