Not a chance.As a range officer and shoot medic, I watched as this:(Twin Browning .50 caliber machine guns)along with people shooting all manner of other arms like this:were used to shoot at this:resulting in this:(people began adding the orange clay targets when there was very little sheet metal left to aim at.)The car didn’t move. It just became more and more ventilated. Most of the rounds went all the way through to make the back side look like this:Only 2 areas didn’t allow bullets to pass. Near the engine, and near the fuel filler on the front left fender. Near the end of the day, many marksmen were putting money down on being the first person to exit a round in the fuel door. Nobody collected. The position of the fuel filler and the front firewall were such that rounds were deflected or stopped. So, if you are being pinned behind a Porsche 911 and being fired upon, either hide behind the engine or the fuel filler and you will have a slightly less chance of being hit.All those TV shows that have cops behind their car doors are pure BS. The smallest caliber handguns were easily putting rounds through the doors. Every rifle larger than a .22 pretty much went through the car. The largest holes were from the shotguns.As usual, several hundred shooters, many tens of thousands of rounds, and the only injury was someone that got a paper cut opening the box the ammo came in and a young lady that stumbled and scraped her knee on the gravel.

My story is the end product of a Garage sale…If you've been To a garage sale , I KNOW you've seen It. A rope tied to the garage door tracks in the back, acting like a clothesline, with every item they have ever worn for sale hanging from it.Well, here's a quick little physics lesson. Take a hundred foot rope and assume no stretch, tie one end to something you want to move (like a car) and the other to something That will not (like a tree) now, go to the center and pull up one foot. That car WILL come toward you, weither or not it wants to, 1/50th of a foot, but at 50 times the force you applied. This is “pulling at right angles to the force" and I have used this principle many times. It works. Take up the slack, do it again, take up the slack, do it again. When it gets to 80′ you are pulling at 40:1 , at 60′ you are pulling at 30:1.Well…the average garage door is 16′ wide, and a very LIGHT load of clothes for sale is 100#. Since gravity will make it slide to the center, that rope is now pulling at 800lbs of force for every 100# of clothes on the metal backhands for the door that is designed for 1/4 of the weight of the door…..(you with me so far?) That steel is designed for no more that 100–150# at most.The ONLY thing keeping calamity at bay, is the door itself acting like a prop stick.Well, the end of friday comes, or the end of Saturday Comes, and the garage sale will continue another day. So they try to shut the door….(Omg)The worst possible Outcome is the door moves. They hit the button and the machine tried to comply. It will not move. They keep hitting the button. It will not move.“Are the sensors clear?” “Is there something in the way?”nope..“ ok…you hit the button, and I'll jerk on the door. We'll get it down…..CRASH!!!!!As soon as the door moves, all that force is released, And everything is ripped out of the ceiling. Door, tracks, operator, all of it…right on top of everything still for sale and any people still underneath .I've Seen this first hand, several times.As bill engvall says “here's your sign"(Edited to correct first name…sorry) ;)
