PDF Editor FAQ
How do I become a great corporate lawyer?
I can’t tell you anything about going to law school in India. If you want to attend an American Law School (from the Ivy League comment), you should look into the ABA requirements for admission to their accredited law schools. This will often involve receiving a Bachelors Degree from an institution accredited by a recognized American accreditation authority. You cannot enter an American Law School (whether Ivy League or not) without an undergraduate degree. What the degree is in is usually unimportant. I would suggest (if you do not want to be a patent lawyer) something that will require a lot of logical thinking and expository and persuasive writing: Philosophy, Classics, etc. If you want to be a patent lawyer, major in a hard science, a rigorous computer science program or an engineering field. It would help to double major in something with a lot of writing- like Philosophy, Classics, History, English Literature etc.If you want to attend an Ivy League School for the undergraduate portion of your studies, you will need a very high SAT or ACT score, great grades in high school and some stuff that makes you stand out — musical ability, athletics, overcoming unusual adversity, being an underrepresented ethnicity/culture, etc.If you want to attend an Ivy League Law School —- you will need a very high undergraduate GPA and LSAT (mostly a logic and reading comprehension test) score. You will also need something to make you stand out— the same criteria for getting in to undergrad apply here: did you get a 4.0+ GPA and 175 LSAT score AND ALSO were you an accomplished athlete? Were you the president of your college’s student association? Did you receive a medal from the president or the Queen of England for some worthy contribution? Did your family members also attend this school? These are the + factors that help you with admission. Note: without the stellar GPA and LSAT, these plus factors are not likely to help you. They are to distinguish you from all the other people who apply with the same stellar GPA and LSAT scores. Finally, please note that not all the top law schools in the USA are Ivy League. The U.S. News law school ranking (rightly or wrongly) is the bible as to what the most prestigious law schools are, currently the top ten are:1) Yale (ivy league), 2) Harvard (ivy league), 2) Stanford (not ivy league), 4) University of Chicago (not ivy league), 4) Columbia University (ivy league), 6) New York University (not ivy league), 7) University of Pennsylvania (ivy league), 8) University of Michigan: Ann Arbor (not Ivy League), 8) University of Virginia (not Ivy League), 8) University of California: Berkeley (not Ivy League)

Do child prodigies often become the best in their fields?
"Often" is a bit dubious. There are certainly many examples of prodigies who became leaders in their field and in some fields (chess, math, music), being a prodigy is almost a requirement for later becoming the best.I found a very comprehensive List of child prodigies on Wikipedia. While this list no doubt suffers from selection bias, it does help elucidate the absolute number of field leaders who began as child prodigies (and there are a lot). It's pretty long, but definitely worth skimming through.MathematicsBorn 1600–1699Juan Caramuel y Lobkowitz (1606–1682) was a Spanish scholastic philosopher, ecclesiastic, mathematician, and writer.
