I do not understand people who tolerate so much blatant lazy, rude, impolite and self centered behavior from their neighbors.In an apartment I used to live in there were 8 apartments in this building and 12 parking spots. One parking spot per unit with 4 extras. You had the option of paying extra for one or two parking spots.If you waived this option, other tenants were allowed to rent your allocated spot.I had a neighbor who declined to pay extra for his parking spot. He parked in my spot once. All were clearly marked (apartment number/letter painted in 3-foot letters in the parking spot). I politely asked him not to do so again, he said not a problem. 3 days later he did it again. I then informed him (did not ask) politely, but very firmly that this is my parking spot, I was paying for it, that his parking in it will not be tolerated any more, next time car would be towed & the landlord informed of this behavior. 2 weeks later he parked in my spot again. Called the towing service, had it towed. Called the landlord, informed him that next time the police would be called.The neighbor had a fit. I laughed at him while he yelled about his lease not being renewed.All leases were for one year & were automatically renewed for 2 more years unless you or the landlord decided otherwise. In the lease it was simply and clearly spelled out, that violation of the rules was grounds for non-renewal of your lease.Apparently, I was not the only one whose parking spot he was using.When neighbors misbehave (yes like children) or act rudely, tolerating it is the worst thing you can do. Politely, respectfully but firmly request/inform them that this behavior will not be tolerated. 3rd offence, do whatever is necessary legally to have this behavior cease. Trust me, they might not like you after this, but they will respect your boundaries.Basically take no shit from rude, self-centered, childish asshole neighbors.

I know of one instance in which a college professor was denied tenure. He received his terminal contract and continued work at the institution that did not grant him tenure for one year. He then, quite literally, went down the street and was hired by another university as a contingent faculty member. So he slid from a tenure track to a non-tenure track postion.He is now teaching more courses than he would otherwise be teaching at this new university as compared to his former employer. But here is an interesting twist. The university at which he is now teaching is actually a more prestigious school, than is his former school. Also, he is being paid substantially more.Good for him.

A non-renewal letter from your Insurance company differs from a cancellation letter you may receive. A cancellation letter could be for nonpayment of premium, or if the policy is new and reports have came in that differ from the information you provided initially and you are not an insurable risk according to their underwriting guidelines. I've seen 10 day, 15 day, and 30 day cancellation notices. A non-renewal notice advises you that upon the expiration of your current term the policy will not be renewed. So if you have an annual policy and you are 7 months into it, you have 3 months left before the non-renewal date. The letter will outline the reason your policy won't be continued. There are many reasons. Call your company and discuss the non-renewal. Most likely they will be able to assist you and possibly insure you still, maybe with some changes made.
