Dolby?My first guess would be no, very unlikely, but then i cant see the business model here. Sales of music transacted over NFC, and maybe even transferred over NFC, would benefit the traditional stakeholders (cardnetwork, issuer, record company), and the entity providing the wallet maybe, but i would be intrigued if Dolby had a stake in that, though they will almost certainly use the NFC technology. They will deploy it for added convenience and to facilitate the integration of products in their portfolio - imagine, your TV, Hifi, Playstation, gaming chair and peripherals, all connected and networked just by tapping a wand or a remote control onto a central hub... just think about that for a second.... no more wires all over the place, no complicated ducting to make your AV area look less like an octopus, its the future. But they will take revenue from the devices that the NFC technology is embedded in, in the traditional way, unless they implement something clever like a music store and find some way of providing it direct to your device, over a mobile/internet connection, with the licensing paid for using your NFC phone + wallet. That'd be cool, but there wouldnt be a need for the NFC wallet necessarily, as you can already do that with a PCI-DSS card registration on an online profile. Im just guessing here, but who knows what they might develop?
