PDF Editor FAQ

Why do we skydive out of planes, and not helicopters? Would it not be easier to jump out of an object that is hovering in one place, opposed to a moving plane that cannot stop midair?

Operating a fixed wing aeroplane is cheaper. The Cessna 208 Grand Caravan of our club can lift up 18 persons to the jump altitude, while a helicopter can take usually 2 to 6 persons. The acquisition price of a helicopter is higher, as are its operation costs. Mind you helicopters are extremely maintenance intensive, and need more overhauling than fixed wingers. And yes, helicopters are used on skydiving, but not as much as fixed wingers are.

Why would a law abiding citizen who owns a gun need to have a silencer?

The correct term is suppressor. “Silencer” is a Hollywood term.Guns are loud. Nothing like in the movies. I mean seriously loud. As in blowout your eardrums permanent hearing loss LOUD.A suppressor makes it so that the noise level is bearable so we can wear less obtrusive hearing protection than these things:It doesnt seem like a big deal until you realize that the earmuffs are hot and also get in the way if you are shooting a rifle. I decided to get in-ear protection after I fired my 308 and the recoil pushed up my earmuffs uncovering my right ear. Ouch. Loud. Very. Loud.My in-ear works well enough, but not quite as well as the earmuffs. In addition, suppressors are much more neighbor friendly. Our club range has been around since the early 1960’s. Since then, people have moved into the neighboring hills and occasionally complain about the noise even though we were around decades before they were. Suppressors can help make everyone more happy.Contrary to anti-gun mythology, a suppressor does not make a gun silent. It just reduces the blast noise to a level that is less likely to cause permanent hearing damage. Also, suppressors add weight, length and bulk which is why most criminals don't bother to use them. Finally, if people wanted to use suppressors to commit crimes they would, law or no law. Fact is, they don't because it's not worth it for a gang banger who's going to throw away his gun anyways.Short answer:We want suppressors to protect our hearing.P.S. In many European countries where gun laws are quite strict, it is either required or considered RUDE to not use a suppressor.

Texas school policy. I just found out that if I don't supply my child with certain basic school supplies, she will get a bad mark for behavior. Is that even legal? We can't afford school supplies right now, but we can in another 2 weeks or so.

Although California’s west coast is a far cry from Texas, the expense of school supplies (including backpacks and, in some cases, school uniforms, sports shoes, and even a laptop.), can still be above the budget for some families. In our local schools several service clubs (Rotary, Lions, Kiwanas etc.) have pitched in to provide these necessities when needed. You might call your local volunteer bureau or even ask your school secretary if this is true where you live.

I love that I can upload my contract that I have already created and can add all the places and options that need to be signed and filled and by whom. The whole process was quick and easy and gave both me and the clients copies of the signed contract.
