It's to make up for the shortfalls of school instruction. The best environment for learning is warm, supportive, and responsive to a child's interests. What type of homeschool resources or curriculum do you use?

I used a "little of this, little of that" curriculum.My main school books were a mix of Prentiss-Hall, Abeka, and Saxon books. Prentiss-Hall had the best science books, Abeka was better for history and literature/English, and Saxon dominated for math after grade 5. My foreign language curriculum was Rosetta Stone CDs, and I read novels based on common suggestions for my grade level.All of these publishers (except Rosetta Stone) make books that are commonly used by private and religious schools around the world. They are geared towards teaching all of the common education milestones for each grade level, and to allow students to pass appropriate standardized tests (if wanted/required).
