How can illegal immigrants eventually become legal, in a way that is fair to all the currently legal immigrants?

When we are talking about “legal immigrants” on a public’s rudimentary understanding of immigration laws, we are talking about people who came to the country with some kind of prior authorization or legal documentation to go to school here, work, or visit on temporary basis or with plans to pursue eventual citizenship. If we were to get to a more correct understanding, a legal immigrant by law is someone who has a green card/permanent residence.Contrary to the way the mainstream talks about immigration, “illegal” when referring to immigration, is usually referring to an act. For instance, improper entry (this could mean crossing the border, coming without prior authorization, or with fake paperwork etc.), is an illegal act. Depending on the circumstance, it could be proven to be done when a person had no other choice (such as when seeking asylum) in which case it is not illegal, or it could be misdemeanor (such as when crossing the border. Someone getting a green card in another country through marriage or other channels, or within the US traveling could also commit improper entry since you do need permission to be here and it can be denied. There’s also illegal presence, which refers to being here without authorization and can mean a person who came with legal authorization but couldn’t renew their paperwork. The term “unlawful presence” was first introduced into the grounds of inadmissibility in 1996 by the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996.[1] This new ground of inadmissibility was implemented on April 1, 1997, and is applied prospectively. Therefore, time spent in the United States “unlawfully” prior to April 1, 1997, does not count towards this bar.-American Immigration Lawyers AssociationIllegal presence itself, is not a crime. But in 1996 the term was made and an act was made to punish it with a 3, or 10 year ban or even permanent ban from the US.This is an issue because many anti-immigrants claim they just want the laws obeyed and yet they fight hard to ensure that pathways toward legal status are cut, or made longer, and more heavily punished. In truth, they seek to change the laws and have been doing so while complaining about immigrants wanting wanting immigration reform and laws changed to make the immigration system better. To look at legal immigrants (green card holders/permanent residents), these are the pathways toward citizenship they have. People think you can just apply to become a citizenship. In truth, you must first get your green card, and then wait 5 years to apply for citizenship. The 5 year wait is mandatory, and that wait time will not change by hurting “illegals”.The real hard part is actually getting a green card, and then keeping it (it can be taken away). These are the pathways to get a green card. You either have to have family connections in the US already (and it has to be close through spouse, or siblings), have an employer willing to sponsor you and pay for it, be of extraordinary talent or famous to be a “special immigrant” (which Einstein got), be a refugee, a victim of a major crime or trafficking, fit into a very specific category, or have been here since January 1st 1972.Here are the options for the “other categories”.As you can see, there is no “process” in the way the general public commonly believes. It’s not based on how long you have lived here, if you can prove you have assimilated, or proof of contributing to American society. Most of the paths toward a green card are due to factors beyond an individual’s control, if you’re lucky to be someone who fits a category. It largely boils down to your race, and your family tree, and where you were born.People have a mistaken belief that coming here legally means you must be a legal immigrant. In most cases they aren’t even considered immigrants by law. To find a full list of non immigrant visa categories click the link, there is also the categories of immigrant visas (permanent resident/green card pathway options), that we already went over on that page. You can also read more about non immigrant workers, students, and visitors on business categories at the USCIS website. None of these categories are considered “legal immigrants” despite coming legally (with prior authorization and the right to be here and work legally). In the mainstream there is a belief that everyone has to “wait in line”, that is not at all the case. There are those that do not need a visa to travel to the US. There is a visa waiver program for certain people who are citizens of certain countries that the US has designated. These foreign citizens are allowed to come here without prior authorization, they come and their passport is stamped. For a lot of people they don’t fit into any of the options of obtaining a green card, for a the lucky few they can just visit the US without even a non immigrant visa. Being “legal” is easier for some based on birth country. These are the countries. Is this fair? Objectively no.Unfortunately the public has been feed a very cartoonish idea of immigration, a kind of black and white, evil vs good kind of story. That’s why laws have been passed that are cutting legal programs, and creating stricter and longer waiting periods. People are afraid the system is too easy, when it is the exact opposite.Despite the fact, that many can never qualify for a green card and coming “illegally” basically destroys any options that are there for those that came with visas, we are still required to pay taxes. Some of those with a temporary non immigrant visa came legally, others who qualify for them did not. The difference is that those who came with prior authorization can lose their status (become undocumented), and change their status, they can qualify to fit into a green card option. Those who cross the border do not qualify for most options, or any at all.If you are a permanent resident you are required to also sign up for the draft if you are man. There are instances of green card holders who have served the military and did not get citizenship, and were deported. The immigration system is hard and impossible for some. And some Americans have been desensitized. They have no sympathy despite knowing little to nothing about their own immigration laws. But they vote harshly against immigration regardless.

What acne treatment is covered by Medi-Cal?

Several treatments are covered by medical. The first step to be seen by a dermatologist is to make an appointment with your primary care provider and request a referral to see a dermatologist. From my personal experience with my son who we were seeking to get on Accutane because of severe cystic acne. It’s not an easy process and requires diligence but treatment can be obtained. Call to look for providers that will accept medical and ask what type of treatments they offer. We meet a dermatologist after waiting for 2 months for an appointment to simply be told he did not prescribe Accutane because of personal choice. So after that when I was looking for a Derm I just asked does the Dr prescribe it . They can prescribe antibiotics, topicals such as clydimiacin (spell check) Retin-A , benzol peroxide , Accutane (if sever) and do glycolic peels (some places) almost all of the medication will need a Prior Authorization which is when the Pharmacy sends a paper to the Dr for them to fill out explaining why you need this medication and then the Dr sends it to the insurance. You will have to call and follow up with the Dr the insurance and the pharmacy because these documents often get “lost” like i said it’s not a simple process BUT you can get the treatment you need covered by medical. Contact me if you need any help. Best to you.

Why aren't there more viruses for Macs?

There are a number of reasons, some historical, some technical, some design.Viruses took off during the PC revolution and skyrocketed further with the rise of ubiquitous networking, which inadvertently tempted hackers who saw an opportunity to spread their viruses & malware easily from one system to another. Windows was the dominant platform at the time, which contributed to its appeal as a target, but more important than simply market share was the technical security aspect: Windows systems were a lot easier to compromise than Macs were, so for any hacker wanting to have an impact with their malware it became the target of choice.Prior to OS X, viruses were fairly common for the Mac, but OS X changed things (see other answers) on a security level and made spreading malware so much more difficult, which paired with its low market share at the time (early 2000’s) made it a difficult and not very rewarding target. Hacking into a Mac was still fairly doable by a truly competent hacker, but creating malware that would spread itself from one Mac to another was such a tough nut to crack that even the best hackers couldn’t do it (there were many $10K+ contests for it; none ever had a winner who succeeded), or perhaps chose not to*.But the key difference in prevalence is that security was much better designed and implemented in OS X than it was in Windows, and possibly still is to this date (I don’t really know much about Windows 8’s security in comparison to previous releases & OS X). On Macs, the general design of how the OS itself works and how it facilitates and curtails user interactions—especially those regarding the installation of anything and giving apps administrator access—is so much better, in fact, that even when hackers successfully wrote viruses and malware for Macs, they couldn’t make it spread without the user having to explicitly grant the malware admin access. And they couldn’t trick a wide enough subset of users to not be suspicious of those dialogs. And they couldn’t sneak malware past Apple in its app stores, which is why the iOS platform, despite being significantly more dominant than Mac OS X ever was in terms of market share and installed base, has never had a successful virus or malware spread either.Security by design is a big thing for Apple, and while they’re far from perfect at it—see for example the recent celebrity photo/iCloud breach—their ecosystem has made their platform essentially safe from these attacks… so far. Their users don’t mindlessly install or approve or click on whatever prompts show up, and even when they do they often don’t give malware enough permission to spread, and that’s about the most of a security breach as we’ve seen on Mac OS X in well over ten years now.* This is certainly plausible, but also sounds unlikely — imagine your hacker cred if you were the one person able to create a successfully spreading virus or malware for the Mac platform. (The flipside argument is that you might become a big target for Apple to catch you, perhaps with help from authorities.)
