Bleach only became underrated and despised sometime in the early 2010’s during the Fullbringer Arc.Universally hailed as the worst part of Bleach, interest in the series took a sharp nosedive after this stupid manga arc which shifted the focus from Soul Society, Shinigami and Arrancar and onto super-powered humans with a special ability that could defeat even powerful Shinigami.It was a little similar to the Chapter Black Arc in Yuu Yuu Hakusho (the obvious inspiration for Bleach) but it was handled so badly that nobody liked it. It’s actually pretty obvious that Kubo wasn’t into it anymore when he was writing this arc.Bleach never recovered from this and people turned to Naruto instead for their shounen fix. The final story arc of Bleach, the Quincy War, suffered heavily from the bad taste left behind by the Full Bringer Arc and was cancelled early, forcing Kubo to tie up loose ends quickly.It’s easy for fans to day to forget in hindsight that Bleach was a solid member of the “Big Three” in the 2000’s, and was on par in popularity with Naruto.
