Since I am into rental properties business since 2009, more than 100 tenants have landed on my properties and prospered in Canada. Very very few have returned to their home country. 50–60% are still struggling hand to mouth even after 7–8 yrs but I have seen IT esp QA/QC ,insurance professionals, banking sector professionals and technical people getting jobs in their own field faster than white collar jobs.My advise to anybody who is coming should do their homework well and know what they are getting into esp extreme cold weather from Dec to March (-20 to -40 deg). Get credentials done like licensing. When you come here, don't waste your time and money. Remember $1=Rs 52 so, you are spending 50 times so focus on getting job first. First few weeks, apply online through Monster, Workopolis, Indeed etc online job portals. Simultaneously try to get drivers licence G1 and G2 which will cost u $1000–1200. If nothing works, join co-op program in Brandon gate which will teach you to mke Canadian resume, prepare you for interviews in 6 weeks and they will place you in multinational companies to work voluntarily for 3 months after which if you are good at your job, hardworking and efficient, you will absorbed immediately for atleast $20–22 per hour and 40 hrs a week job. People who work in IT take job on contractual basis by showing self employed or small business to save 40–45% tax, bracket and show loss in business to evade taxes which is why they are happy here.If you love extreme cold weather (falling of black ice and breaking your delicate backbone, even becoming handicap sometimes), if you have driving licence (new drivers car insurance is above $400 pm) and if you have good job earning more than $75k p.a then Canada would be heaven for you.Btw... Don't lose hope. Let me tell you, people who have come from Somalia, Pakistan, Syria, Nigeria, Jamaican etc are very very happy in Canada though they are not qualified professionals like Indians because they are into social welfare and sitting and eating into our taxpayers millions of dollars. For them, Canada is pure heaven. Even people from India esp Gujarat, punjab and new Delhi people seem to be happy because most of them are into IT but they are not working full time and majority came here as a student. I have seen few IT People came from India on PR but latest news is 41% indians got express visa in last lottery. Congratulations!!

TL;DR; Too far.. traveled over 1300 miles, spent about $1000, didn't sleep for 2 days just to go to a beach and stay there for 20 hours.Update: We're Married since August 2014!Background: We live 450 miles away from Goa. Goa is another 500 miles away and from Mumbai. My city and Mumbai are 450 miles away.Friday,6.30 PM: I ask her if she is interested to go to Goa with me for the weekend (and I was not serious at all). She says her parents will not allow her to spend the night out of her house. Let alone travel to a different city.8.30 PM: I asked her to check with her parents if she can stay out Saturday night. I knew they wont so that okay. Her parents disagree.Saturday4.30 AM: I am done with my work on my computer and going to bed (I am used to sleeping late). And my phone automatically goes on silent mode during nights on weekends so that I can sleep without any disturbance7.00 AM: My moms phone rings and some one from my company called her asking for me. I am in my deepest sleep and cannot understand a bit of what she is saying. My mom wakes me up to see who's calling at this time. Its disconnected. I check my phone and see an incoming call. I know who it is. I say "Hello", and the response is .. "Pappa maan gaye!" (which means "Dad Agreed!"). I stand in bewilderment and confusion, not knowing how to answer. I say "What?" ... to which she says again "Pappa maan gaye!, We're going!". I don't know how to react, I wanted to sleep but I can't back out now. I say okay and disconnect the call.I jump off from my trying to get the best actor in me, showing off my happiness. My mom stares at me. To which I say, I am going to Bangalore on a company sponsored trip. Man I acted so darn well, my mom couldn't say no. And I didn't ask her if I should go, I made a statement I am going.7:15 AM: I am online searching for a cheapest flight ticket to Goa. I find 2 tickets for $300 but do not find a good return ticket. The ideal one is for $800 which is too much. I call my love saying that I cannot find a good return ticket, trying to express that we cannot go this time. To which she says, "Book it!". Whattt! how are we supposed come back?.. I cant spend $800 on return tickets alone and the $300 flight was at 7 AM next day which I am not taking!2:00 PM: Goa International Airport, India. WTF !!?I just traveled in the airplane for the first time in my life. I am scared, nervous, happy, worried. How did this even happened?Scared - Travelling in an Airplane for the first time is scary.Nervous - I also happened to travel outside my city for the first time in my lifeHappy - She seems to be loving and enjoying the momentWorried - She told her parents that she is spending the night out at a friends place. What if someone asks her to come back home immediately for any emergency?2:25 PM: We are here.. (Yes I booked this today morning along with the flight and it costed me $120. I hated the hotel except for the part that its just 500 feets away from the shore. They said its a 5 star, but would rate it less than 2 star)Edit: Its called Park Holiday Resort, and it sucks. The hotel looks like its built on less than 4000 sq ft of area that's it. The best one I could find in my budget is for $400 and is a connecting flight from Mumbai which takes 7 hours of travel in all from 1.40 PM to 8.30 PM. After 5 mins, I open my eyes and find no one in the room. Darn she left for the beach. I have to go, I can't leave her alone like that. I brush my teeth in 20 seconds and I run out of hotel. There she is on the beach, smiling at me. She knew I would come!6:00 AM to 11:30 AM: At the beach, relaxing.. Expressing love in words on the sand. (We also had breakfast)1:00 PM: Reached the airport only to find out flight is delayed to 2:50 PM4:00 PM: Reached Mumbai. I am shivering. The weather conditions were not good, and the turbulence scared the shit out of me. We spend the next 2 hours at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport to find out that our flight at 7.30 PM is now delayed by an hour.10:00 PM: Sitting in the aircraft since 8.30 PM and praying rigorously to god that the flight should not be postponed for next morning due to bad weather conditions. It was only at 10:10 AM we found out that there were no pilots available to take off the plane.
