Why should one support Arvind Kejriwal over Narendra Modi?

I came across the below arguments written by a fellow Quara user, Its against Modi. Do read.I am copying his answer. Link is belowSomeone anonymous's answer to What are your reasons for deciding not to vote for Narendra Modi? Who, instead, do you plan to vote for?.................................................................................................................The reasons I will not vote for him are listed. I have included a few more to counter some Modi-fans who believe that if you do not respect the Almighty Modi Ji, you are wrong and you are unpatriotic and anti India.Shame.The reason for my Anonymity is my desire to avoid hate-mail. And yes, obviously stop me from becoming a target for these Modi - lovers. My Anonymity does not affect my credibility. I give links and substantiation behind everything I say, unlike most of his fans.WIKILEAKS: I am sure BJP people LOVE Wikileaks, after all, they believe in the transcripts it exposed on the Corrupt Congress people being Swiss bank holders. Also, they very nicely twisted what it had put up on the the Great Saheb of Gujarat.Looky here: 'Incorruptible' in WikiLeaks, Narendra Modi smilesThis one is from his own website : Page on Www, I mean his supporters are so happy that Wikileaks vindicated him.Truth? In WikiLeaks US diplomat described Modi as “incorruptible” — in fact, “the lone honest Indian politician”.Fact: Plain Lie, no US diplomat mentioned that. On the contrary, complete reading of the cable is an another proof of “pseudo-secularist” charges on Modi (downright communal, big-ticket corruption and low on achievements). This “fact” is based on Indian Express’s news item WikiLeaks show Narendra Modi honest: BJPNarendra Modi and the BJP today made the most of the latest diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks, saying these showed that the Gujarat Chief Minister was “incorruptible” — in fact, “the lone honest Indian politician”.Dated November 2, 2006, the cable sent by Michael S Owen, the Consul General in Mumbai, refers to Modi’s growing potential as a national leader of his party and the need to engage with him to “directly” deliver a message on human rights. Here is the link from WikiLeaks of the Cable sent by Michael Owen, Consul GeneralGujarat CM Modi sets his sights on national politicsModi has successfully branded himself as a non-corrupt, effective administrator, as a facilitator of business in a state with a deep commercial culture, and as a no-nonsense, law-and-order politician who looks after the interests of the Hindu majority. He has successfully cultivated the image of a clean politician who has reduced corruption in public life in Gujarat. Views differ on how clean and non-corrupt Modi actually is, however. However, several people tell us that big ticket corruption is still common.Since, when branding becomes reality or opinion, moreover the cable mentions commonplace existence of big-ticket corruption. The cable is extremely critical of Modi on various accounts (positive points also were also there)The Chief Minister is openly distrustful of the higher-caste party officials around him, yet is careful not to make caste an issue since he seeks the support of the Gujarati commercial class, most of whom are Patels or other higher castes.By all accounts, however, he is an insular, distrustful person who rules with a small group of advisors. This inner circle acts as a buffer between the Chief Minister and his cabinet and party. He reigns more by fear and intimidation than by inclusiveness and consensus, and is rude, condescending and often derogatory to even high level party officials.Modi continues to support a Hindutva agenda in the state, with the recent passage of amendments to the state’s anti-conversion law (ref A) being seen as a concession to his supporters on the Hindu right. Both supporters and critics of Modi confirm that the state government continues to use administrative tools to marginalize and ghettoize the Muslim minority.Although Gujarat tops all Indian states in terms of investment intentions, actual investment is far less, and certainly less than the neighboring state of Maharashtra.Ahmedabad does not have the visible construction activity, and increasingly noticeable foreign presence, of Pune in neighboring Maharashtra, for example.Wikileaks link : 2006 Nov 2 Cable ID:06MUMBAI1986_a IN-DEPTH K(NOT)WLEDGE: Confusing Shyama Prasad Mookerjee with Shyama Krishna Verma, I mean, c'mon, he was the Jan Sangh founder and the other a revolutionary. This was after the Gujarat govt filed an affidavit in the SC admitting Sheikh was killed in fake encounter.“I ensured the laying of a 700-km pipeline to reach Narmada water to the Indo-Pak border because of my love and respect for armymen.” Kutch got Narmada water on May 18, 2003, and Modi had thanked Rajiv Gandhi for initiating the Kutch drinking water project in 1985.Said he had information that Sir Creek was being handed over to Pakistan on Dec 15, 2012. The activist denied receiving any figure; the govt responded by saying only a few lakhs had been spent by her personally on her treatment abroad.PERSONALITY: He is a control freak, and a person who allegedly had his love interests followed by senior IPS officers. He has maintained a stark silence on his alleged Snoopgate, still does.Page on FirstpostIn the entire @cobrapost Amit Shah- SInghal transcript there is no reference to the father of the surveillance victim seeking help. : onwardkerala ‘Don’t Worry, Sir. She Won’t Escape.’ Transcripts of #Saheb - #AmitShah tapes . Still protection story? : tinucherian This is him with the mystery gal allegedly(look at the ironclad grip) .FALSE SOCIAL MEDIA CORPS FOR DISILLUSIONING PEOPLE: Not to mention Operation Blue Virus by Cobrapost (Page on Deccanchronicle) , which claims that a lot of Modi's popularity on social media websites' is paid for. There are plenty of sites available to check the fake twitter followers and paid Facebook likes, just Google, you'll find many. One such technology firm, came up with a report that only 10% of the 2million twitter followers of the decisive leader to be genuine. It's no different in Facebook also.Of course he is not the only one doing it, many celebrities and politicians use this trick around the world for publicity.NDTV: Truth vs Hype: Narendra Modi - The grand illusion?Using marketing PR firms to for publicity is not bad, but how good is creating half truth statistics and information and spreading it to the nation ?While I agree that Gujarat has made some good strides towards development in his tenure, but, is making mountains out of a molehills called "decisive leadership" you talk about Mr Modi(and fans)? When you suggest the Prime Minister to implement Gujarat Model for India, Is this model of cult and hype you were referring to Mr Modi ?How true are the words of Adolf Hitler's Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels: "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it".Not to mention another stark silence on the Gujarat riots and/or humorless analogies. Oh yes, I know, he wrote a letter very recently telling how hurt he was. His heart was touched shortly before the elections. Awww.FALSE ADVERTISING: His website (Page on Www) claims 450 billion USD worth MoUs signed by the Vibrant Gujarat in 2011, facts are that the FDI for that year were 30.38 billion... for the entire country. It is so easy to tell people that I have bought investment of so much money, without making them understanding the concept of MoU.Gujarat's share in FDI is a mere 2.38%. (According to the RBI) 450billion dollars is 1/3rd of India's GDP. Are you saying that he got contracts worth 1/3rd of India's GDP, one of the biggest economies of the world). Well, we should have made this guy king of India in that case. We would all be drinking out of cups of gold by now.Even the Muslims.FUDGING THE NUMBERS: Claim : In last 10 years, the agriculture growth rate of Gujarat is higher than every other state in the country.Source : Planning Commission report: State wise Agriculture sector development. As we can see, Gujarat stands at 6th position in the list of top performing states in Agricultural growth.Just see the kind of improvement, the top 5 states have shown, on an average of 300% compared to mere 15% growth of Gujarat over the 10 years period of comparison. If you consider only last 10 years performance, even small states like Jharkhand have completely out performed Gujarat. How lame and baseless are the claims , that Gujarat’s agricultural growth rate is higher than every other state in last 10 years, when statistics show a completely different picture?FUDGING THE NUMBERS #2: The state’s share in investment intentions in terms of IEMs ( Industrial Entrepreneur Memorandum), letters of intent (LOIs) and Direct Investment Licences (DILs) has declined from early 20’s in percentage in 2005 to less than 10 % in 2011.If this is the case, how did he even manage to get MOM signed of such insane amount ?Well it's simple, he shells out crores to the US lobbying firm "APCO Worldwide" just for this job.He is allegedly getting image make over service from this PR firm at the expense of tax payers money.FUDGING FACTS: Modi claims that 25 lakh jobs were generated in 2009, thanks to vibrant Gujarat 2009 and said it'll generate 52 lakh jobs in 2011.Planning Commission Employment report, page no 126, suggests that, number of people employed in major sectors has come down from 25.3 million in 2004-05 to 24.65 million in 2009-10.I mean. I think something is wrong with this world. Maybe this is all propaganda, eh. I am including the links for your perusal Modi-fans.Source: Page on PlanningcommissionFUDGING FACTS #2 : Somethings that are not spoken about.a. POVERTYThere are some things which Modi doesn't tell you. In social sector, Gujarat is one of the worst performing states in the country.source: Planning commission report on state wise population below poverty line.If we consider only urban area statistics, there is an increase in the number of urban population below poverty line in Gujarat.b. ELECTRICITY TARIFFSSurely MODIfication of poor into poorest is working like charm.source : Planning Commission report on state wise average tariff per unitGujarat is the most costliest state for electricity for domestic and agricultural use in the country. This is shocking, considering Gujarat is a power surplus state. In 2007-08, tariff was 1.20 Rs/kwh, by 2011-12 it has been raised to 1.76.This is the consequence of giving all powers to the corporates to decide the tariff as they want.c. EDUCATIONIt's better not to look at the education sector, Gujarat has one of the most pathetic record in this sector.State has school drop out rate of 62. We can't even compare this with Kerala, Chandigarh or Delhi. Overall India has lower dropout rate than Gujarat. This doesn't mean those who are sticking to schools are getting any quality education.Statistics show that, Gujarat is the worst state in the country , when we look at the reading, writing and math skills of the rural students. This is as ridiculous as, only 7% of Gujarat's class 5 kids can read English sentences, way below all India average and it's better not compare with other states.ASER survey released Jan this year reiterated this fact, exposing more bitter truths about Gujarat's dismal education system.Read DnaIndia's report extracting the major contents of the survey here.Looks like Mr Modi is too busy in building roads and providing cheap loans to the corporates, ignoring the next generation. Of course, he is very well aware of the fact that kids can't vote.Situation in higher education is not improving either, According to Ministry of Human Resource Development 2011-12, (Page 317), Gujarat has the worst record among all the states by leading the reduction in number of woman enrolment percentage into higher education.Wait, weren't we teaching these kids about the glories of Adolf Hitler? That sucks, right?GUJARAT EFFECT: Gujarat always performed better than India on an average, even before Modi, so the claim that he transformed Gujarat into a developing state is itself a lame one.Source: Planning commission report Page on Planningcommission"PLAIN LYING TO THE MEDIA: Gujarat has lost zero man days due to labour unrest (strikes, lockouts etc.) "Is it true ?You bet it's not.Check the annual report of Union finance ministry - The Economic Survey for the year 2010/11 (page no. 235 - 236), It clearly shows the "maximum incidences" of strikes and lockouts were recorded in Gujarat. Wage and allowance, bonus, personnel, indiscipline and violence were the major reasons.TOURISM : Under Modi, Gujarat has turned out to be the visitors favourite destination in India. This is a quote from Modi's website,"In the last year Gujarat got over 22 million tourists and witnessed a tourism growth rate of over 16%, which is double of the national tourism growth rate. From Rs. 30 crore in 2005-2006, the tourism budget today is Rs. 500 crore. "As recorded in official tourism website of Gujarat,Number of tourists during 2010-11 = 19,811,936 (19.8 million)Number of tourists during 2011-12 = 22,354,665 (22.3 million)Anyone who can do simple calculation would find out that, increase is around 13% (12.8% to be exact) and not 16% as Modi tells the nation.ELECTION GIMMICKS UNDER GUISE OF UNITY: We have the great Statue of Unity being considered to be erected like a great symbol for our nation. And also, farmers will donate metal. (their websites bleats this on a regular basis)Nice nice.To make a statue that big, the metal has to be of high tensile quality and the exactly correct alloy. (As a metallurgical engineer, I know this)You cannot just get hoes, and rakes from all over the country and pop it in the furnace and make a giant statue of the great Sardar Patel.Shame on you Modi-mania-machine for playing on the sentiments of people.ANTI CORRUPTION FARCE: In April2012, he passed a new bill, The Gujarat Lokayukta Aayog which allows him to1. Choose the Lokayukta of his own choice.2. Block Lokayukta from investigating any cases against himself or his cabinet ministers.3. Remove the primacy of high court chief justice and the governor in the appointment of Lokayukta. What great Gujarat Model of governance! What great deceptive leader against corruption! Is this what you call a strong Lokpal, when you criticize central government for bringing strong Lokpal, Mr Modi ?If this is what you call a strong Lokpal, then all corrupt politicians would have backed Anna Hazare for this bill.RIOTS FALSIFICATION: Doesn't he always say that riots havent taken place after 2002?That minorities have lived in so much pleasure and security. How much a person can lie I wonder.Fact: Plain LieBelies even basic common sense, clearly when the inter-community trust reaching nadir, even a trivial incident like a motor accident can flare-up.Large scale riots happened within Vadodara in 2006 (no coincidence that next Gujarat elections were in 2007), but this time there were no Modi-protectors at Centre, so he had to fall in line.Apart from that, regular stream of incidences involving arson, stone-pelting, stabbing, lynching etc kept on happening regularly all over Gujarat – Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Dohad, Veraval etc.References:Vadodara: Centre sends paramilitary helpDelhi-wary Modi calls in the armyPTI May 3, 2006, 10.23am ISTNEW DELHI: As violence did not show signs of ebbing in Vadodara, the Centre on Wednesday dispatched five companies of 500 personnel belonging to paramilitary forces to assist the Gujarat police in containing the situation.Below are some references of incidences that keep on happening.11 hurt in ‘communal’ clashes in Rajkot, A’badCurfew in parts of Dahod after clashOne killed in riots in Bhavnagar26 shops gutted in Kodinar violenceViolence in Gujarat town, 3 deadThree die in Vadodara clashesGomtipur violence smacks of poll agendaReligious riots in western India leave two dead30 people hurt in in AhmedabadTension brews, violence spreads to KalupurAll these instances are post 2002."Oops, I did it again" -Britney Spears (2000)How prophetic.FALSE CLAIMS : Automobile majors are flocking to Gujarat because of great industrial climate Modi has created.Fact: Plain lie.Tata was given sops estimated to be worth Rs. 30 Thousand Crores over a period of time for investing only a fraction (Rs 2 Thousand Crores) in Sanand, Gujarat. That’s what brought Nano to Gujarat.Modi’s sops to Tata for Nano Plant : Rs 30 Thousand Crores (estimated, on interest free loans and other sops)The details have been made known through a government resolution dated January 1, 2009, listing the incentives offered to the Tatas. The group has been given 1,100 acres in Sanand, 35km west of Ahmedabad.According to the agreement with Tata Motors, the government has decided to give the company a loan of Rs 9,500 crore for 20 years at 0.1 per cent rate of interest. By contrast, the CPM regime in Bengal had offered a subsidy package which included subsidies on land, power, tax paybacks and a soft loan of Rs 200 crore. The Gujarat resolution is, however, silent on the existing policy of the state on 85 per cent job opportunities to local people.Tata Motors’ investment in Sanand Plant Gujarat : Rs 2 Thousand CroresSpread over about 1,100 acres, the plant in Sanand has been created at an investment of about Rs 2,000 crore.Modi’s starting gift to Tata for Nano plantFree public money in form of Rs 9,570 Crore loan as the interest is 0.1% and payment time is 20 years (23% of Gujarat’s budget for that year).Plus, usual sops of tax and duty exemption, infrastructure development and 100 acres of land near Ahmedabad for township.Which businessman will refuse such a deal? Its “free” money that’s attracting, not Modi.Gujarat government have already approved the interest free loan exceeding Tata’s investment.According to a top official, a Gujarat government committee has approved a provisional loan of Rs 2,138.85 crore at 0.10 per cent annual interest, but the company’s demand is much higher.A counterexample of a “real” success story, whoever heard of ND Tiwari, must have heard of wrong reasons.FALSE MODELS: Gujarat model of governance - Clean and corruption free. This undoubtedly the best one, standing at the top of all his claims.Well there are two ways to achieve this clean and corruption free status,Make everyone from top politician to common man clean and corruption free. No one asks any bribe, commission, nobody misuses his powers and misuse public funds.Remove anyone who could possibly find out that you are corrupt. Create false statistics, Heavily publicise it in all the rallies, use social media, use your followers, use you advertising PR machine, lobbying agency, making everyone believe that you have eliminated all the corruption.Never in the history of mankind, with so many super heroes coming in, able to make our society - corruption free and politics - clean, leave alone Gujarat model and Modi, however supernatural he may seem to his followers. Modi is left to adopt second choice, and have to say he is quite successful in itComptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India has come up with many reports on How Modi government gave undue benefits to corporates resulting in several hundred crores loss to exchequer. How his investments from borrowing is turning bad and how he id doing excess market borrowing to finance the fiscal deficit. In it's recent annual report. You can find the copy of full report here. There are many allegations against his government in allocating lands to the corporates at cheap throw away rate, as less as 1 Rs per square feet to Adani group.Adanis are a big supporter of Mr. Modi. It was the Adani plane that flew him to Indore and Bhopal when he was campaigning for the recent elections in MP. I saw it with my own eyes.It is this and a lot more that one should not consider Modi as the leader. I hate Congress and would never vote for them. But I will never vote for an openly corrupt guy as him. get someone better BJP! Parriker! Swaraj! Jaitley! Chouhan! Why can’t the United Kingdom deport every European Union citizen once we leave the EU in 2019?

Of course immigration is a universal benefit to the UK however there are occasional snags.HOUSINGIn 1997 I was responsible for the maintenance of 7,500 properties in a major city. They were all modern and my first job was to redecorate 30+ so they could be let to anyone who wanted one and I mean anyone. If a single person wanted a 4-bed house and could pay for it they could have it. About 15% of the estate was “voids” and when I asked the manager why he said; “Because we are in a declining market”. We were, we had over 1000 modern vacant properties and my last job there was to demolish 30+ vandalized houses and flats because there was no point renovating them to add to our empty stock.Things are different in London where a small house 30 miles out costs 3 times the price of a similar house in a Northern city. There is housing available in places like Morecambe and Hull but not all immigrants want to live there. A contact recently told me of immigrants sent to one such place who without any local pressure returned to London in a couple of months. I say not all because a few years ago the Sunday Times reported 1000+ Somali clan arrived in Hull from the Netherlands in a week. All were EU citizens they actually considered education, housing and health services were better in Holland but the Dutch broke the clan up and forced them to integrate. I the UK they could all carry on as they did in Somalia including mutilating their daughters genitals which mainly UK Somalis do to about 3000 girls every year. Finding homes for a 1000 arrivals in a week can be a strain on the system. The following Guardian article says why Britain is the dream of Europe's Africanshttps://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwirzOXDr4bLAhUHORoKHUiyCWcQFggfMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.theguardian.com%2Fcommentisfree%2F2013%2Fjan%2F28%2Fbritish-dream-europe-african-citizens&usg=AFQjCNEVnDdYmj5e2lcEfmY4DRkNX_EbZw&sig2=WKDKbIr1TfFMKEwX73bO9AI was a Chief Property Officer as well as time as a surveyor on large social housing contracts. So briefly by mid-1970s falling birth-rates due to improved contraception and abortion meant we were going to have enough social housing. Consequently large scale contracts for an expanding population adding to the stock finished. From 1975 the entire emphasis shifted to bringing the existing stock up to modern standards. This was badly needed as some houses were as the builders left them in 1920 with 1920’s sanitation and only one ground floor room plastered - the rest were painted brickwork. This continued until about 2000 and part of the inner city estate I worked on in 1997 had actually been rebuilt twice since 1960, 3 times if you count renovation of the Victorian terraced housing just 5 years before it was demolished. Without adding a single unit the terraces were replaced with concrete monstrosities in the 1970s only for these to be torn down in about 1985 to be replaced again with conventional low rise brick houses. I can give you 3 estates I worked on where this happened - renovated or rebuilt 3 times in 25 years. Nevertheless we still had more houses then we needed.I posted all this on the comment column of the “Guardian” when it ran a story on the housing shortage early in 2015. I was of course accused of being a liar and a racist even though another reader in South Wales and confirmed the same had happened there. A surplus turned into a desperate shortage in less than 10 years. Oh - and he was called a liar and a racist too.EDUCATIONBetween 1979 and 1994 I was head of a group maintaining of 150 schools and colleges for a Metropolitan Council. In some areas the primary schools had only half the designed capacity and we actually had two schools that were cut back in size during construction. One primary had a foundation slab twice the size of the finished building and a high school had only three of its four designed floors. The concrete staircase for access to the fourth floor simply went up to the ceiling of what became the roof. But in minority areas schools were “bursting at the seams” and being regularly enlarged. One township had 3 High Schools in 1994 but two were closed later in the 1990’s. It now has a shortage of places – why? There was a report in the national press some time ago that "Ian Duncan Smith said we need 23,000(?) New High Schools for immigrants but said the BBC Radio 4 correspondent “That is only one for/in each of our existing High Schools"So in the most extreme case 4 sometimes 8 say Roma children from one family can go to 4 - 8 separate schools and the problem is solved? This is only one example of the BBC’s presentation of figures prompting me to develop Gladstone’s observation "There are lies, damned lies and statistics." to "There are lies, damn lies, statistics and figures produced by the BBC".OVERSEAS STUDENTSWorking with private landlords I have some experience of Overseas students and the “Billions” they bring to Britain. At one event for overseas students I met 3 Nigerians here legally on postgraduate courses. For most of the 2 hours they questioned me on how they could get jobs that would allow them to stay here. Another Nigerian “student” enrolled on a course but never attended the college or paid any fees. He was earning over £500 a week on contract work 200 miles away from the University. The flat he rented locally was not so much a safe house as a legal base and transit point for other Nigerians who were “visiting” him. They were mostly young men passing through but a few were families and at least one was a family with a child health tourist but I cannot remember what the boy was being treated for. As a matter of interest the “students” mother was a High Court Judge in one of the Nigerian States. On another occasion an Indian couple arrived as students and took a flat but spent most of their time looking for employment. The tenancy had been arranged for them by a relative in the Midlands which is I assume where they vanished too after 4 months. Legally they came as mature students and I believe one of them enrolled at the university to maintain the fiction but did not actually attend.HEALTHSearch the web you should find a report that at a few years ago 80% of the new HIV cases in the NHS were from "Sub-Saharan Africa”. Sub-Saharan is the code word for negative reports about Black Africa. A BBC documentary on the use made of the NHS by people from overseas had a Nigerian HIV patient. He said being here was hard on him too - he would not see his family for 2 years. I do not blame the man a ticket to the UK saved his life but as that hospital Chief Exec said we cannot be a World HS.You have to collect fragments of information & piece them together yourself. In about 2001 London Hospitals told the BBC the cost of new immigrants with TB & HIV was wrecking their finances. Months later the Chief Executive from a London Hospital group (Newham?) that probably catered for more ethnic minorities than any other in the UK was interviewed on Radio 4's flagship Today. There was a bland discussion about the work of his group that concluded with a question about people from abroad using the NHS to which he replied, “Patients who are not entitled to treatment only cost us £30k a year and on our £20+ million budget that is absolutely nothing". He did not say that to control the spread of TB and HIV the government had correctly ordered immigrants with these conditions be given priority and given them more money. Consequently as "immigrants" were counted as "entitled". He was misleading but not ACTUALLY lying. Neat? Here is a report from the BBChttps://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCQQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.co.uk%2Fnews%2Fuk-england-london-23777685&ei=sOUmVeD7AcG1ae2NgKgB&usg=AFQjCNEROWwFE0PNoHUrdgc9y2KFwJRA6w&sig2=xG1MERt6BBXj6ZLhm5JLxAHere we have a 2013 report on tuberculosis from the Governments Public Health Englandhttps://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CDMQFjAC&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gov.uk%2Fgovernment%2Fnews%2Fmajority-of-london-tb-cases-are-in-non-recent-entrants-to-uk&ei=sOUmVeD7AcG1ae2NgKgB&usg=AFQjCNGlZns-xA7jzDt-6Rb2deCddFuF3w&sig2=Ep8TwwenFEb4aEhvqKHtFwIt includes the following interesting statement; “Eight out of 10 Londoners with tuberculosis in 2012 were UK-born OR had been living in the UK for at least 2 years prior to their diagnosis.” So as far as Government statistics are concerned if you have been living here for 2 years before you are diagnosed you are a “LONDONER” and not included in the statistics as an “immigrant” and the implication is you caught it here. This is possible because the Center for Disease Control and Prevention informs us,“Some people develop TB disease soon (within weeks) after becoming infected, before their immune system can fight the TB bacteria. Other people may get sick years later, when their immune system becomes weak for another reason. Many people with TB infection never develop TB disease.”But we eliminated TB 50 years ago so where has it come from? The “Eight out of 10 Londoners” line is just the latest fudge. About 5 years ago the official line was “The rise in TB is due to people coming to work in the UK from places where it is endemic” who are, it is suggested quite different from immigrants. Therefore immigrants are not the cause of the rise in TB!Here we have a report from the Independent entitledWhy we should screen immigrants for HIV and hepatitis B the MP writing it may be a Tory but he is also a practicing Doctor.https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CDUQFjAD&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.independent.co.uk%2Fvoices%2Fcomment%2Fwhy-we-should-screen-immigrants-for-hiv-and-hepatitis-b-9102435.html&ei=C-smVbaXAdOXarPBgrgJ&usg=AFQjCNHrpYpB5mb2UJq8COuzUkHK5e4ITg&sig2=QD0PUnyZOzzHCxh7bfzsuwOne can hardly blame the poor of the world who have no chance in their own countries coming here if they can save their lives for the price of an air ticket. But consider this. Oxfam, Save the Children and dozens of other organizations have been collecting millions to treat people in the third world for the 1001 diseases that cause their early deaths. Yet it is suggested those who come here from the third world suffer from none of them?My reference to the BBC report at the beginning can be sneered at as “lies” or "racist lies" but think about it. If the NHS is not putting budgets for communicable diseases like HIV, tuberculosis and hepatitis cases in any community before British pensioners hip replacements it is not doing its job.On a more basic level the Guardian reported the 50% increase in population in Ely principally from Eastern Europe, meant the GPs had to employ three interpreters at £40 an hour. A radiographer I know was unable to treat a Hungarian lady as the £100 an hour interpreter missed the appointment. Of course the NHS has employed interpreters for years so you can say it is nothing new. In theory no, but as they tell us there are now over 300 languages spoken in London a quantum leap in costs is undeniable. It would appear the more obscure the language the greater the cost so how could this be built into budgets? A relative who occasionally locums as a GP in London is paid £800 a day so for eight hours work a Hungarian interpreter costs the NHS as much as a doctor. To test the system a Hungarian journalist came to Britain and obtained a European health card then went back to Hungary for treatment and presented the card thereby charging her treatment in Hungry to the NHS. Details from the Guardian,Loophole letting non-UK residents charge NHS 'unacceptable' – ministerWhen I suffered a minor injury in Portugal and a friend needed to see a doctor in Spain we both had to get our credit cards out and pay £40 and £120 respectively. Even the foreign office advice for pregnant British women going to Germany informs them they will be entitled to routine treatment but not if they specifically go there to give birth. On the other hand the NHS will treat all kinds of illnesses, up to and including cancer from pretty much the whole world.https://www.spectator.co.uk/2017/01/lies-tell-nhs/We constantly hear about the pressure on A&E services but not how this has come about. During the brexit campaign Dr David Owen who is not known for extreme right-wing sympathies said it was primarily due to people not registered with doctors using A & E access health provision. He did not say get rid of the foreigners rather the NHS should have more money so it can treat them properly. In a later early-morning report on Radio 4 which was not repeated a manager from Nuffield Health said the increase in the use of A & E was basically in line with the increase in population.Instead of screaming xenophobe and racist at people pointing out these problems just explain how you can bring in an estimated half million illiterate people from say, Somalia where they have zero health care, concentrate them in particular areas, and not have a strain on health and other services. One last question, suppose JUST suppose no more,IF the housing and schools shortage was entirely due to admitting for example 600k Somalis as once reported on the BBC and the same number of Roma as once reported in the Guardian.IF the NHS was going under treating large numbers of immigrants/asylum seekers or even “people coming to work in the UK from places where TB is endemic” for HIV, tuberculosis and hepatitis and 1001 other third world diseases.IF immigrant groups had set up colonies living under their own laws as the Chief Inspector of Constabulary said last year.Communities 'taking law into their own hands', says police chief inspectorWould the politicians say so?
