I know you’re not from Mumbai and I can understand how difficult it might be to analyze the city because I was in the same boots.I’ll tell you why Local trains have more crowd in spite of having Mono Rail and Metro Trains!This is Local Train’s route. Central Railways (CST to Kasara/Khopoli) make a rough distance of 120 km and Western Railways (Churchgate to Dahanu Road) makes a rough distance of 124 km. I have not included sub-partsHence, total local trains cover more than 400 km!This is Metro Route. Starting from Ghatkopar to Versova, Metro hardly covers 12 km.And this is Mono Rail’s route (Vadala Depot to Chembur). Shortest and simplest route which is spreading across a distance of 9 km.Did you understand now? 12th April 2015I went to meet him after one year in Delhi (I met him a year before in Delhi only in 2014). It was more of a long distance relationship. That day I was expecting him to ask me for marriage as our bond was of 5 years, so I was the happiest soul on earth at that moment. What he said instead broke me completely. He took out his mobile and there was a picture of a girl. I asked who she is. He said, I am getting married to her. Our engagement is on 27th April and blah blah. I cried and he didn’t even console me. After a long crying session he left and I took a train back home. For the first time in my life I travelled without ticket because I didn’t have any energy left to purchase a ticket.At homeI cried and cried. Prayed to God please bring him back. No food. No sleep. As whenever I tried to sleep he was there in my dreams. I messaged him 1000 times but no reply. One fine day he messaged me saying that Live your Life, Good Luck.I was like what I am going to do without him. He is my life. I haven’t imagined a single second of my life without him.Then too after this much of humiliation I messaged him and wanted him to come back but to no avail. Instead he was busy in liking and commenting on that girl’s DPs and cover photos.I tried very very hard to console myself. But ended up crying very badly. I used to cry 24×7.Finally he got married on 27th November 2015 and didn’t even bothered to tell me once. And his wedding pictures, the way he used to look at me, he is now looking at some other girl. He was happy.(This picture is for representation only. I took this one from Google Images. Don’t get confused that this one is his wedding photograph :D )That day I decided that, oh!!! he is so happy and enjoying his life and here I am wasting my wonderful life for this person who didn’t even think for a second before leaving me.From that day onwards I stopped stalking his fb profile. Blocked him, his wife and every tom dick and harry related to him. Trust me it gave me immense peace not stalking his profile.What I did that finally helped me in getting back on trackI blocked him everywhere.I read The Alchemist.I stopped watching all those things that reminded me of him.I stopped even going to Delhi and took transfer to Chennai.I focussed all my energy on my goals and hobbies.The ResultI am more happy and at peace. I am back to Delhi. This incident helped me in realising that I am a very very strong person as neither I took any help from psychiatrist nor from any family member. I fought those tough times all alone.I bought a microwave and now I am a pro in baking.I helped my mother in constructing a very beautiful garden at my native home.I am healthier now, I learned Tamil, Telugu and Kannada and yes I am focussed on a single goal of my life without any distraction.Lessons I learnedDon’t stalk. It will be too hard in the beginning but in the end it will give more peace.Do not, I repeat do not post anything about your present condition on fb as this will make that person more proud on his/her decision of leaving you. Don’t give them any chance to think that they are better without you. Instead rise and shine. The Great White Fleet was a group of 16 American battleships sent around the world on a 14-month-long good will tour to show off America’s growing status as a world power, at a time when the U.S. was still seen as a relatively minor player outside the Western Hemisphere.It was called “The Great White Fleet” because the ships were painted white with gold trim (this was before the modern practice of painting warships gray.)Theodore Roosevelt wanted to send the fleet as a message to the world: take the U.S. seriously as a major power. He especially wanted to get the attention of another emerging naval power: Japan.Trouble is, Congress didn’t want to do it. They thought the voyage was too risky; it was long and would involve the fleet navigating as a group around the world over an extended period at a time before radar, before satellite navigation, and when radio communication was in its infancy. It would require long-term supply and logistical planning; it would require a massive amount of coordination between the ships themselves and between the ships and the naval command structure. The U.S. navy had never attempted something quite like it. In fact, no navy in the world had attempted anything quite like it.Partly for these reasons, Congress was not keen on the idea, and did not want to pay for it.At the time, the U.S. Navy’s budget provided funds for the purchasing of coal and other supplies to support naval operations when needed. Roosevelt’s plan would consume that entire budget and require additional funds from Congress to complete the voyage. Congress did not want to provide those funds, thinking this would stop Roosevelt from ordering the voyage in the first place.That was a miscalculation.Roosevelt said that the existing funds in the budget would let him get the fleet across the Pacific, and if Congress did not want it to get stuck there, they’d have to come up with the rest of the money.So they did.Now, does this compare to what Trump is doing, or at least rumored to be planning to do, for his wall?Supposedly, Trump is going to declare a national emergency, and then use funds already appropriated for the Defense Department for other purposes to begin building the wall.Now, let’s back up for a minute. Under the Constitution, only Congress gets to decide how U.S. Treasury funds are spent. The Executive — the President — cannot take money apportioned by Congress for one thing and use it for another, or spend money for any purpose Congress has not assigned it for. However, there is a law that allows the President, in the event of an emergency, to temporarily divert Defense Department funds to purposes other than they were appropriated for. Think of it this way: if the U.S. was invaded by a foreign military, the President would not have to wait for Congress to pass a new appropriations bill to spend money to respond to that invasion; he could use existing money, in an extreme case like that, to respond to the emergency.Trump is basically planning (supposedly — it’s worth pointing out that at the time I am writing this, on the morning of January 8, 2019, he has not done it yet) to say that there is an emergency on the Southern U.S. border that justifies diverting defense department funds from what they were appropriated by Congress to pay for — say, buying new fighter planes, or covering training exercises for military units — to building the wall. It’s not clear at this time whether such a step would stand up to legal scrutiny, but it almost certainly is not the kind of “emergency” the law involved was passed to address. That was meant for a situation where there just wouldn’t be time to ask Congress for more money in a real emergency. Trump’s trying to use it — or is at least thinking about trying to use it — to get around Congress’s unwillingness to pay for something he wants.Now, does this compare to what Theodore Roosevelt did with the Great White Fleet?Well, Congress didn’t want to pay for the voyage of the fleet and it doesn’t want to pay for Trump’s wall. But there the similarity ends.Roosevelt did not declare a national emergency, first of all. And he did not divert funds from purposes other than what Congress appropriated them for. That is, Congress appropriated money to purchase coal, water and other supplies for U.S. naval vessels. What Roosevelt did was use that money more rapidly than it had been budgeted for by sending the fleet on its journey. He put Congress in a position where it had to spend additional funds on the fleet’s supplies to get it home. But in each case, Congress assigned money to be spent on exactly what it did get spent on: coal, water, food, medicine, to ensure the operation of the navy. Congress did not forbid the voyage of the fleet; it paid for unspecified naval operations and Roosevelt just burned through that money so fast that Congress had to provide more funds. He did this knowing that Congress would not have been willing to provide all the money required for the voyage in advance.What Roosevelt did was to say, “Congress gave me money to spend on X, and I’m going to do X so very much that they will need to give me more money for X whether they really want to or not.”What Trump is talking about doing is to say, “Congress gave me money to spend on X, but instead I will spend it on Y because they refuse to give me money for Y.”Not the same.
