1. Vacancies2016- 800+2017–13112018- 17292. Final Cut off score (out of 700)2016- 5392017- 543.503. Process after selection – After declaration of result by SSC, candidates will get joining letter from respective zones by post and have to present there within due date for document verification and submission. The joining may be immediately from the next day of joining or within 30 days (may vary from zone to zone)4. Training – Training may start within a month of joining or some time later as decided by zone. Training is mandatory for next promotion. The first 2.5 months of training will be conducted in respective zonal NACEN center. This will include lectures on Central Excise, GST, Customs Law, NDPS act, Personality development courses, swimming, parade, yoga , factory, NGO & Airport visit etc. After this, there will be a 15 days Arms training, conducted either in state police academy or CISF Training Centre. During arms training you will learn to operate SLR, INSAAS, AK-47, Pistol, Revolver .5. Posting :Candidates will get posting within respective zone after training , till then candidates will be posted in different sections of Headquarter. Candidates can be given desired location, section, and posting within respective zone on prior request to Administrative Officer. You may get posting in ranges, division & Head quarter.Ranges are the bottom most unit of Excise formation. These are like police stations. A range is under the charge of a Superintendent, assisted by an inspector and 1-2 Havaldars. During posting in range office you can go for factory, shop visit any time and you will be responsible for the area under your jurisdiction. You will work in both field and office while posted in range. If you want some adventurous field work you should request for posting in preventive section or ranges. In division, work is usually monotonous and you have to deal with mainly reports preparation.6. Job Nature :This is the only job in SSC CGL where you will get a chance of working in multiple formations. You will work in GST, Excise, Airport, Seaport, Narcotics etc. For eg : In Kerala, out of 4 airports 1 is managed by preventive officers and rest 3 are managed by central excise officials. While working in airport you will get white uniform. You will also get chances of working as examiner at seaport & Air cargo complex. Also you will get chance of working as intelligence officer while working in DRI, DGGSTI etc. You will get posting here on basis of your performance & track record.7. Age Limit – Max. 30 Years8. Uniform :You will get khaki uniform while working as Excise (GST) inspector & white uniform while working in Airport. Khaki uniform is optional but white uniform is compulsory. Usually khaki uniform is used on 3 national holidays, while meeting any senior officer & sometimes on raids accompanied by senior officer , E way bill checking etc.11. Power& Social Influence –As this is a uniform job, power and social respect is high. Many times people confuse you with police inspector. Also in small ranges there additional charge is given to superintendent of some other range. So apparently you will have the control of entire range office. You will do things on behalf of your superintendent. So if we talk about official powers an excise inspector have much more power & independence than an income tax inspector. You will have the authority to penalize any person under your jurisdiction who is generating fake invoices, wrong invoices, selling products without invoice. Arrest is very rare under GST law. But inspector have power to arrest any one for violation of NDPS Act (Narcotics).12. Issuance of Gun :Although Weapons training is given , you will not be given a gun to keep on regular basis. In case you are working in some risky cases and sections like intelligence, Preventive ad there are chances of threat to your life you can request to issue a gun for some particular time period.13. Accommodation :You can either opt for HRA or stay at Central excise quarters. Also you are eligible to stay at CPWD quarters situated in state capitals. You can also stay at central excise guest houses or can book circuit houses and CPWD guest houses from holiday homes website at very nominal charges, across India including many hill stations like Manali, Andaman, Sikkim etc.14. Group –Group B (Non Gazetted)15. Promotion- Earlier, the official minimum years of service for promotion of inspector to superintendent was 8 years but in sep 2019 this has been reduced to min 2 years. This would mean that in upcoming years promotion time for excise inspectors will be similar to income tax inspectors & section officers of CSS. Candidates will get their first promotion after 5-6 years . After first promotion you will become a gazette officer (Superintendent), after another 7–10 years you will become Assistant Commissioner (IRS officer). In your service lifetime one can easily get 2-3 promotions. An inspector can now easily reach up to the post of Asst. Commissioner.16. Salary – An inspector on joining gets a salary of around Rs. 68000-70000 in X class cities. Around 6000 Rs will be deducted from salary for Pension contribution and around 7500 Rs will be contributed in the same fund by govt. Around 2000 per month will be deducted as income tax. Overall one will get around Rs 58000 in hand salary and around 13500 Rs will be saved every month in your pension account .Even on training you will get full salary. You will also get Rs 10,000 annually as uniform allowance. Salary Increment – One will get 3 increment in a year (Aprrox. 2500-3000 each time) 2 DA increase in Jan &July and one annual increment in July.18. Infrastructure–Infrastructure is not as good as in income tax department.But it is quite decent if you compare it with other departments. On posting in ranges you may get your separate cabin It depends on office arrangements and space available. Offices are mostly in urban or semi urban areas, so location wise also it’s a good choice.19. Work Load – Work load is not very high. Working hours are usually fixed and you will not be pressurized for working beyond timings.But in some cases like raids you have to work beyond timings.20. UPSC Prep :One can easily get enough time to prepare for UPSC and govt. job. On request to senior officers, soft posting can be given to candidates where he could get enough time to prepare for UPSC.21. Leaves :Saturday and Sunday are offs and apart from that a number of leaves are there including earned leave, casual leave, Medical leave, Extra ordinary leave. If you calculate properly, you will find that you have to work only 8 months in a year. If your case is genuine, there will not be any issue with leaves. On willful violation of leave rules, your salary will be deducted and on some extreme cases of absence for more than 2-3 months there would be an entry of misconduct in your service book, but you will not be debarred from service.22. Transfer Policy- Transfer is of two kinds. Annual general transfer which will be within respective zonesand inter commissionarate transfer (ICT) which will be outside your zone. ICT is banned after 2016 in CBIC. But this is a temporary decision. This will start again in coming years. But one can go on deputation to other zones and departments after completing a probation period of 2 years for a maximum period of 5 years.On taking transfer to other zone, you will lose your seniority and will be treated as fresh candidate in new zone but this will not affect your salary.23. Galaxy Gyan :One of the most prestigious and highly reputed job. It is the first choice for many candidates. Earlier the only problem with this post was late promotion but now that has been resolved. L&T Infotech…. so the first thing is it’s no more L&T Infotech, it’s LTI.Now, I am currently working in the same company as associate software engineer. I joined the company in year 2016, in the month of July.The training is not a single day or a format. It follows steps. So here are those.The very first day you will have verification of your document and salary account opening.The next 2 days will be you induction program followed by KYC(Know Your Company).Then 5 days will be behavioural training, in which you will get to know little about IT culture.Now, comes the actual training part. Basically, everyone will have boot camp which will last up to 12 days and followed by an exam.When we joined we had given just an extra chance to clear the exam (exams include all the exam I.e; only one chance as a together). People not clearing will be getting one more chance and if not cleared,then your termination letter would be ready.Then based upon requirements you will be assigned with the technology which will be classroom training. And then based on technology the project assignments which you have to do in group.each and every phase includes test and feedback from teachers.Note: Training plays an important role. Be attentive in class and do not carry any AT/KT. Because eleiminations are really strict.Regarding salary thing, it depends on which year you joined. The company in which I'm working now is listed in MCA.gov.in. There are more than 20 employees now and the company was started four years ago and we still don't get salary slip, PF, or any other benefits. Is it legal? Can I file a case against them?

Yes you may file case.According to PF rules and regulations company having employees strength below 10 it’s voluntary to apply for PF. For others it’s a mandate.As far as salary slip is concerned, if you’ve properly formatted offer letter copy then you must receive salary slip to understand the components on monthly basis and deductions if any, if company doesn’t give offer letter with salary breakup then they’re fraud you all must ask for it.
