PDF Editor FAQ

How much might a 15-17 day backpacking trip to Europe from India cost? Is there anyone from India who has done it and can help me picture a rough idea about the total budget?

I just backpacked around Europe for 7 weeks and might have a little insight for you.TL;DR A comfortable Europe trip should cost you approximately €80-€100 a day from the moment you leave home until the moment you get back. So if your trip is 15 days long, it would cost you anywhere between €1200-€1500 (all inclusive - visa, airfare, stay, travel, food, sightseeing and partying)Step one, make sure your documents are in order - passport, travel insurance, financial backing, air tickets, a cover letter with purpose of visit, hotel bookings, complete travel itinerary and any other docx you’d need before applying for a visa. You’ll have to apply for a Schengen Visa with the consulate of the country where you intend to spend most time or in my case point of entry or exit if it’s a multiple country trip. The visa should cost you around Rs. 6,800/- and take 2–4 days for approval. My flight ticket to and from India, departing New Delhi cost me 27.5K, check http://Skyscanner.com for cheap airfaresI stayed in:hostels, checkout Hostels Worldwide - Online Hostel Bookings, Ratings and ReviewsSurfed on people’s couches, Meet and Stay with Locals All Over the WorldUsed airbnb in Norway and made a friend for life, whom I still talk to pretty much everyday, Vacation Rentals, Homes, Experiences & Places - AirbnbI have friends scattered across Europe so I stayed with themMost cities in Europe have fantastic public transport. However, the decision of buying a travel pass for a single day or multiple days vs. buying individual trip tickets is solely based on how much you intend to travel in the city. In some cities it’s worth buying a pass because the cost of the pass is equal to 2/3 trips on one line. In others like Paris, I’d suggest buying multiple tickets because you definitely will not travel enough to justify the cost of a pass. The prices of these passes varies from anywhere between €4 to €15 depending on where you are.Google for Free Walking Tours in each city you go to. There are multiple companies listed on TripAdvisor: Read Reviews, Compare Prices & Book for each city, so I’d suggest looking up reviews and decide which company you’d like to do it with. Sandeman’s is a company that does tours in several cities so they’re worth checking outDo not, I repeat, DO NOT pay for those guided sightseeing bus tours or a hop-on-hop-off tour. It’s ridiculously expensive and not worth a single penny at all. Instead, download an app called Google Trips and it’s a one stop shop for all things tourist in a european city. Download each city on your itinerary and it’ll provide day plans, places to eat, how to get around, what it should cost etc. It’s a brilliant app and coupled with Google Maps offline, a total lifesaverGo to a city information kiosk and get yourself a free city guide. Ask the agents for free things to do around town. Now free isn’t necessarily the best, but a lot of times, major attractions in town will be free to visit. There are many free museums and attractions. Before you pay to go see a museum, ask yourself if you’re doing it for yourself because you’re interested in seeing something in there or you’re just going in because you know everyone does it. Don’t waste time at museums you don’t have any interest in.Check out Search & Compare Cheap Buses, Trains & Flights | GoEuro for the most efficient way of getting around Europe. Getting around Europe is cheap, there are several modes of transport including cheap buses, trains and in many cases, air travel as well. Airlines like Home | easyJet.com, Ryanair, Transavia, WizzAir, Norwegian, Eurowings etc. offer cheap fares under €20 most of the time and I’ve flown for under €20 on 3 different routes.Food is going to be a major expense, but there are several ways to cut costs. Most hostels, Airbnb and CouchSurfing hosts will equip you with a basic kitchen to cook and store food. You’ll have to label your food at a hostel to avoid it being eaten by others of course! You can go to a supermarket and buy groceries and produce for less than €10 a day and cook sufficient food to last you a day or two easily. You’ll want to try the local cuisine though and I’d suggest looking up places on Yelp and Google Trips for cheap eats and I’ve done it in many cities.Nights out in Europe are a budget killer, but worth it most of the times for the excellent social atmosphere around most towns. Northern Europe is definitely more expensive compared to Southern or Eastern Europe. A night out in town with cover charges, food and drink can cost you anywhere from €20 and upwardsOther travel tips:Carry padlocks with you to utilise lockers to lock your stuff in, do not carry your original passport with you into the city. If you do, make sure you secure it.Do not have a lot of cash on you in person. Europe is mostly credit/debit card friendly but you’ll always come across places that accept cash only. But that doesn’t mean you’ll have to carry a lot with you. Have sufficient to last a day and lock the rest of it in your lockerKeep a copy of all your travel documents, tickets and etc. in your bag and backpack as wellA good jacket can go a long way, invest in a good winter jacket with deep and inner pockets to store valuablesCarry an umbrella, you never know when and where it can rain down upon you.Buy a water bottle and then refill it with tap/fountain water wherever you go because you’ll have to pay for water everywhere across Europe. Taps and fountains are free. You can buy a good, thick plastic bottle and wash and reuse itBathrooms across Europe are paid entry as well, so if you go to a restaurant, use the free restroomDry socks and clean underwear can save your life. Make sure you change them daily, you won’t be able to take a shower everyday (or maybe you will, it varies) so wet wipes and clean inners are your buddiesAvoid looking touristy to avoid getting hassled or mugged in major cities. Europe is predominantly safe but there can be sketchy and shady areas as well and it doesn’t hurt to be careful. Decide to go on a Bar Crawl? Make sure you know where your accommodation is, to avoid getting lost while being plastered. I’ve had several friends have their shit stolen and spend nights out on the streets because they were too dumb to leave their hostels without knowing their bearings.Don’t be shy, talk to people. Get out of your comfort zone and make friends. I can’t say this enough, you live for the experiences, the touristy shit can be googled. You only live once!Overall, Europe can either be really cheap or really expensive depending on whether you want comfort or class. Solo travel is the best way to do it, IMO, you’ll meet a lot of solo backpackers staying at hostels and make some incredible friends. So to answer your question, a comfortable Europe trip should cost you approximately €80-€100 a day from the moment you leave home until the moment you get back. So if your trip is 15 days long, it would cost you anywhere between €1200-€1500 (all inclusive - airfare, stay, travel, food, partying). Now that’s what it cost me, the actual figure is somewhere around €71 a day and I had an absolutely AMAZING time! I’d do it all again in a heartbeat.Hope this helps.

Feedbacks from Our Clients

It is an easy to use cloudsoftware that allows esigning either integrated with interfaces to existing processes or for everyday use especially also for freelancers that make contracts with clients mostly manually. For templates for to be signed documents that will be used frequently, there is also a possibilty to simplify the daily work fast and reliable. If my company grows I can use API to integrate CocoDoc with other cloudservices easily. Prices seem to be fair in comparison to other companies
