My time being the worst of all, in my batch TCS had provided record offer letters to 1304 students wherein i was not even eligible to attend the interview.TCS recruits over 1,300 at Sastra UniversityThe feeling you get when :Your friends and classmates solve that RK Sharma book in class while you see just watch what they are doinWhen they wear formals and attend interview after interview even though they have an offer letter in hand as they want the best package while you sit in the class and haplessly gaze at them in awe.When you think you have successfully survived that day after reaching home, just to see a message pop up in whatsapp from your classmate in your class group who changes the group name and icon to congrats “ so and so on being placed”When you see all of your friends putting up a facebook status after getting placed.When your parents are longing for that call from you waiting for those words “ Ma, i got placed in this company”.When your shameless relatives tease about you on not getting a offer letter to your parents and seeing your parents become sad.When your best friend calls you and tells “ Machan got the offer letter” you are happy for him but you aren’t placed yet and by no other choice have to attend his treat, you feel helpless and ashamed as you are among one of the few people in class who are unplaced.OK what did i do after experiencing the above ?To be frank, i stopped thinking about who got which offer letter and who got rejected as i had few backlogs and was sure i couldn’t get any offer letter because i was ineligible. Eventually i got over that period with the help of few unplaced students, completed college and returned back to Chennai “Unplaced”. What i did in that period of time was to analyse what i was interested in, what my strengths were and what my weakness where. One of the strengths i possessed was good writing skills.I read a lot of sample articles, learned a lot of word placement, blog writing, blog editing, content generation, keyword placement etc. Now i am working in Vembu as a “Technical Writer” from June 2016. It’s just that my friends got that happiness while they were studying in college and i got that happiness few months later.Look i am not working in a top rated company as a CEO or something but the thing which i want to say to all the unplaced students just like me is that “It is not a shame being unplaced” just accept that you weren’t good enough for getting a offer letter. It is not the end of your life, Stop comparing yourself with your friends which i did. Avoid it completely start focusing on your strengths immensely and apply to jobs related to your strength alone. I am sure you will master in that. Life has better to offer buddy ! Tim Deessend me a pm :)—op.Call the court clerk and inform them under state law you are ineligible to serve jury duty, send them:a copy of your identificationyour jury noticedocumentation for your felonya copy of the requisite law or statute invalidating you to servewith a clear request that you beremoved from this jury poolremoved from the jury databasenotified by the Court clerk, in writing once it done that you are:ineligible for jury dutyhave been removed from the jury pool xxx (see your notice)have been removed from the jury pool database (for future notices).… all prior to your jury day.I would HIGHLY suggest, you draft a sample letter, with your information clearly spelled out, to the latter three points and send it to the court clerk. They will most likely copy this language should your request be responded to, in the affirmative — if they do not already have a response letter. I’m fairly certain you are probably NOT the first felon to be erroneously drafted into jury duty.That should do you I would think.At least with respect to this and future jury pool notices.You will VERY OBVIOUSLY, want to keep this original letter, somewhere will it will not get lost, for the next couple years. Someplace where your lawyer can access it, should the law eventually catch up to you on your “outstanding warrant”.—Showing up to court, is likely going to get you arrested (I can positively guarantee you cops are at least running plates on cars looking for outstanding warrants!). Given the way the gestapo has grown (cough, real id act) you may very well be subjected to an electronic scan of your id (which may or may not pop up that warrant!).Not showing up to court, is likely going to subject you to another warrant, and possibly additional charges absent removal from the jury pool, or an explicit excuse from the jury notice.As I recall, court clerks regularly issue exemptions based on “personal reasons”; so sending them a clear packet with lawful reasons as to why you are not “fit to serve” on a jury (comporting with your state law), should be sufficient for them to excuse you from jury duty on just that alone, without compelling you to show up for jury selection day under threat of punishment.Good luck.
