Project Application Form Template For Donees Database: Fill & Download for Free

At my last job in Bing, one of my tasks is creating a test suite for an API. I searched for a generic solution, failing to find something useful I proceeded with the following:First a bit about the application:This project is to be used by different sizes of clients both very big and small. This is azure hosted solution that will integrate with their existing inventory system to provide a dashboard for marketing efforts. So inventory will have products and all that associated commerce data.So essentially these are CRUD operations in form of HTTP requests. There was a paper/article that I referenced (can't find/rem it now) to get to the analogy/inspiration.I divided my tests roughly along these linesAuthentication tests: Project used authentication provided by Azure app fabric, so my tests only tested the happy path scenarios. These are HTTPS calls that needed some extra configuration but essentially CRUD.Setup tests: Large part of the project is onboarding a new client, so this part of the suite will test creating a new account, importing their inventory, mapping it our service and showing them on our dashboard. This part contains several sub modules but are simple/happy cases for them. You could think this as a functional test case. I know I could use mocks but didn't go that route because I needed to build the underlying method calls anyways.Unit tests: So these are more free form and served as a template for rest of the suite, something in these linesCan we add one product - HTTP POSTCan we add multiple products at the same time - HTTP POSTCan we delete a product by ID - HTTP POST (most folks don't use HTTP Delete)Can we show a product by id- HTTP GETCan we show multiple products by list of ids - HTTP GETCan we update a product by ID and data - HTTP UPDATE (this created lots of bugs)These are again simple cases once these are done, I went on to create edge test cases likewhat happens when we add two products with the same idupdate really doesn't do an update (is old value retained)how many products can be added at once (system limits)Can two exactly same products exist under different clientsOnce these cases are created, CRUD tests for rest of the components was pretty similar and I end up having to copy paste and renaming class names. Then the fun stopped. Though I explored the possibility of create a meta test framework which on giving a component would generate a set of simple test cases, I couldn't get it to fruition.Infrastructure tests: These tests verify that our instance has actually been created on azure, the database exists, on cancellation are we deleting the database as well, small clients share the same database/azure instance, are they having the same API responses.Security tests: If you know the user id of another company, can you find their product listing . Can another company user delete your instances etc. (nasty bugs found here!)Error codes tests: Upon failure are the API's returning correct error response codes (this part created lot of contention between the dev and test)Unit testing isn't typically part of a testers job at Microsoft but I was fortunate enough to do so for this project. I was only tester on this project and had complete free hand in test architecture. Fiddler became an indispensable part for creating these tests, verifying response codes, parsing response bodies.

Since launching my course in April, I’ve made nearly $10,000. Aside from making updates to the course, my only investment was the initial time I spent making the course (about three to four weeks of work because I repurposed a lot of my previous client work to make the course). And of course, I had to purchase a domain name and website hosting — both of which were a minimal investment.Course Tips and TricksTake other people’s courses to get inspiration for things like formatting and making sure your content is better than others.Start with the content first. Open a G-Doc, and start outlining your course. Don’t worry about technology until you have your content down.Launch your course before you finish. This will put a fire under your ass to get it done.To make a course successful, you’ll need an audience and/or marketing chops to drive people to it.Learn how to make a killer landing page that evokes emotion in people and drives them to buy.
