Those who speak for Trump claim that he gives ”millions and millions” to charitable causes. But investigative reporters couldn’t find a single cash donation to charity Trump had made over the five years preceding his presidential campaign. Donations made turned out to be gifts-in-kind from Trump’s businesses, such as free rounds of golf at Trump courses donated to charity auctions, and land-conservation agreements to forgo development rights on Trump-owned properties. The only cash donations were from the Donald J. Trump Foundation, the family charity that Trump established in 1988. But Trump hadn’t given any of his own money to the Trump Foundation since 2008—almost all of its funding came from other people, including some of his business associates. And recently the Trump Foundation was dissolved by the Courts because he was using it like his own private piggy bank.Trump also made a $25,000 political donation to Pam Bondi, the attorney general of Florida. She was about to begin an investigation of the scandal-ridden Trump University. That stopped when she got the contribution. It came from the Foundation in violation of tax laws – charities aren’t allowed to make political donations. Trump aides claimed it was an administrative error.Trump is not a charitable man. Any giving he does takes place under shaming and duress. He makes promises that he forgets and is rarely called on to honor them.

Donald Trump is clearly lying. He said, on Air Force One that he did not know anything about a payment to Stormy Daniels. He was lying, because now Rudy Giuliani is representing Trump and he said on Fox News, to Sean Hannity, that Trump knew about the arrangement and repaid the money. Michael Cohen is Trump’s personal attorney who made the payment initially. He (Cohen) said that Trump did not reimburse him. This is problematic. If Trump did not reimburse him, it is an in kind donation, and it is illegal, because the sheer amount of it, $130,000.00, exceeds the amount allowed, according to campaign finance laws.Trump himself went on Fox News and admitted that Cohen had represented him and was representing him in the Stormy Daniels case, on an ongoing basis. Giuliani claims Trump repaid Cohen over a period of several months. Why did Trump initially claim to have no knowledge of that? Another dilemma for Trump and Cohen is the contract itself, which was drawn up and shows Daniels’ signature. Trump’s signature was not on the contract. Does that nullify the entire agreement? Being that Trump claims that he had no knowledge of the payment and denied all allegations made by Daniels that he had sex with her in a hotel, why was Cohen representing Trump? An attorney cannot represent a client without his knowledge and consent. That is cause for disbarment. Disbarment is a punishment of those who practice law professionally for unethical or criminal conduct. Trump claimed no knowledge, no consent, and he had not signed the non disclosure agreement contract (NDA). That all sounds rather suspicious to me. But the biggest reason Trump changed his story is that it was all going to come out anyway. Better to steal the thunder, I guess.
