Why did Cristiano Ronaldo choose to sign with Juventus?

It all started when Real Madrid beat Juventus in the UCL final 2017 at Cardiff. Real Madrid President, Perez had promised Cristiano to increase his wage from the next season (2017–18), but it never really happened. The season ended with Real winning their record 13th UCL title by beating Liverpool. Something weird happened just after that. CR7 completely stole the limelight from the man of the final, Gareth Bale. Just after the match, he had said, “It was very nice to be at Real Madrid. In the coming days I will give a response to the fans, who have always been on my side”. This created storm around the world and CR7 was heavily criticised for this behaviour. Even Ronaldo later apologised by saying that it wasn’t the right time to say such a thing. But that was enough to start a storm around the world. Football fans, pundits from around the globe expressed their views on it. Ronaldo kept quiet and led Portugal to the Round of 16 after Uruguay finally ended Portugal’s WC Campaign. In a WC month, just the rumor (now a reality) surrounding CR7 stole the headlines yet again.Remember that promise that Perez had made ? Well, he never fulfilled it ! This created friction between Ronaldo and Perez. They didn’t even greet each other during the celebration of the UCL Triumph in Madrid recently. Here’s the masala. Perez is ever ready to give 45 million Euros as wage to Neymar if at all he joins Real Madrid. But the same Perez is denying to give 30m Euros to the best player in the world who is in his own club ! CR7’s wage was 21 million Euros, which was not even half of what Neymar earned ! Being a Ballon d’or holder, that’s totally insulting. It’s not like he didn’t deserve at least 30m. Former Real Madrid president Ramón Calderón had his say on this matter - " It's little bit awkward for Cristiano, when being the best player in the world you get less money than Neymar. And it's natural. Ronaldo deserves more salary than any football player on the planet".And now comes the tax thing. First consider Barcelona and Messi. Barcelona has saved Messi from tax related cases on various occassions. The board, the board’s president, the management, all lend helping hands to Messi. They put everything on line to save him. However, this is totally the opposite of what Real Madrid did to Cristiano ! Every time there’s a tax related case against CR7, he had to deal with it himself. It’s not that he didn’t need any help though. No help came from the board as if Real Madrid doesn’t even recognise who Ronaldo is ! He even accepted a suspended prison sentence to settle his tax fraud case just recently. He also agreed to pay 18.8m Euros as fine. Point of all these things is, the relationship between CR7 and Real Madrid worsened. From ‘Real Madrid’s star Ronaldo’, it now became ‘Real Madrid vs Cristiano Ronaldo’.After all these events, Juventus handed in a transfer request to Real Madrid for CR7 and he accepted it. This way, Real Madrid lost millions of followers, Perez broke a billion hearts and the unforgivable tradition of disrespecting legends by Real Madrid continues. And if there’s ever a man who could replace Ronaldo, is Ronaldo himself. His greatness, his legacy is irreplaceable !Thanks for reading. Have a good day.EDIT- Also read Prateek Patnaik's answer to Were there any failed prospects that could’ve been challenging Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, and co.?Also read Prateek Patnaik's answer to How good was Leo Messi at 19 years old? How was the Bangladesh Bank hacking heist carried out?

On February 4, unknown hackers used SWIFT credentials of Bangladesh Central Bank employees to send more than three dozen fraudulent money transfer requests to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York asking the bank to transfer millions of the Bangladesh Bank’s funds to bank accounts in the Philippines, Sri Lanka and other parts of Asia. The hackers managed to get $81 million sent to Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation in the Philippines via four different transfer requests and an additional $20 million sent to Pan Asia Banking in a single request. But the Bangladesh Bank managed to halt $850 million in other transactions. The $81 million was deposited into four accounts at a Rizal branch in Manila on Feb. 4. These accounts had all been opened a year earlier in May 2015, but had been inactive with just $500 sitting in them, until the stolen funds arrived in February 2016.A printer “error” helped Bangladesh Bank discover the heist. The bank’s SWIFT system is configured to automatically print out a record each time a money transfer request goes through. The printer works 24 hours so that when workers arrive each morning, they check the tray for transfers that got confirmed overnight. But on the morning of Friday February 5, the director of the bank found the printer tray empty. When bank workers tried to print the reports manually, they couldn’t. The software on the terminal that connects to the SWIFT network indicated that a critical system file was missing or had been altered. When they finally got the software working the next day and were able to restart the printer, dozens of suspicious transactions spit out. The Fed bank in New York had apparently sent queries to Bangladesh Bank questioning dozens of the transfer orders, but no one in Bangladesh had responded. Panic ensued as workers in Bangladesh scrambled to determine if any of the money transfers had gone through—their own records system showed that nothing had been debited to their account yet—and halt any orders that were still pending. They contacted SWIFT and New York Fed, but the attackers had timed their heist well; because it was the weekend in New York, no one there responded. It wasn’t until Monday that bank workers in Bangladesh finally learned that four of the transactions had gone through amounting to $101 million.Bangladesh Bank managed to get Pan Asia Banking to cancel the $20 million that it had already received and reroute that money back to Bangladesh Bank’s New York Fed account. But the $81 million that went to Rizal Bank in the Philippines was gone. It had already been credited to multiple accounts—reportedly belonging to casinos in the Philippines—and all but $68,000 of it was withdrawn on February 5 and 9 before further withdrawals were halted. The manager of the Rizal Bank branch has been questioned about why she allowed the money to be withdrawn on the 9th, even after receiving a request that day from Bangladesh Bank to halt the money. The hackers might have stolen much more if not for a typo in one of the money transfer requests that caught the eye of the Federal Reserve Bank in New York. The hackers apparently had indicated that at least one of the transfers should go to the Shalika Foundation, but they misspelled “foundation” as “fundation”They installed malware on the bank’s network to prevent workers from discovering the fraudulent transactions quickly. In the case of Bangladesh Bank, the malware subverted the software used to automatically print SWIFT transactions. The hackers installed it on the bank’s system some time in January, not long before they initiated the bogus money transfers on February 4.According to SWIFT, they obtained valid credentials the banks use to conduct money transfers over SWIFT and then used those credentials to initiate money transactions as if they were legitimate bank employees. How they got the credentials is unclear.

What are the challenges and changes I will have to go through if I want to become a Marine after serving 2 years in the US Army?

Regardless of serving in another branch of the Service, almost all Marines must go through either boot camp (enlisted), or OCS and then The Basic School (officer).I will note a couple of exceptional exceptions:The President’s Own Bandsmen are extremely well qualified musicians, and having successfully passed multiple auditions, and being able to acquire a Top Secret clearance, and otherwise meeting all other Marine qualifications, those musicians are appointed directly to SSgt/E-6, do not attend boot camp, and are taught “in-house” by other Marines through OJT.Very rarely, the USMC will accept an interservice transfer request by a commissioned officer (usually O-3 or lower), and after the screening board of Marines that recommends that the request be granted — having thoroughly examined the officer’s full record and potential for service as a Marine officer — that officer might be allowed to transfer without having first completed OCS. But they will still have to complete TBS, regardless of their MOS or grade, before they will be allowed to lead Marines.Interservice transfers to become enlisted Marines aren’t exactly rare, but they aren’t common, either, because the USMC requires all of them to go through USMC boot camp (exception noted above, that applies to a handful of new Marines per year…).Again, with very rare exceptions, the USMC will not grant any incoming interservice transferee, even after boot camp, grade higher than E-3/Lance Corporal. And the USMC will have the final say on their new MOS…which may or may not be different than what they did before.Good luck.Reply
