I haven't followed the legal/macro issues, but Homejoy's biggest failure for me as a customer was the inconsistency of their cleaners/service. We were customers for over a year and booked probably 20 cleanings.Homejoy cleaners canceled all the time, and at the last minute. Over half of our appointments were canceled by the cleaner. Homejoy offered a credit and that kept me as a customer, but after a point I wanted to know my house would be clean on a given day. Rescheduled appointments were not timely; for example, when we were doing monthly cleanings, we had a cleaner cancel repeatedly until we had two cleanings in the same week.Homejoy cleaners left the service all the time, with no notice. I don't know if the cleaners left voluntarily or were let go, but over the ~20 cleanings we had ~15 different people, and another ~15 that we never even met because they canceled before the first booking. This (a) made it impossible to book the same person for regular cleanings, (b) made ratings & reviews useless, and (c) prevented us from building a relationship with a cleaner, so every person had to re-learn our home and preferences.The pricing model was incompatible with the inconsistency issues. Homejoy offered cheaper pricing if you scheduled regular cleanings over short intervals. But since the appointments were being canceled and cleaners disappearing left and right, how would I ever get to benefit? Super frustrating.

Irony died a poetic justice.Ironically, in March 2019, Gogoi had said that post-retirement job is a scar on independence of judiciary.Now he has been nominated for Rajya Sabha. If he accepts it, which I assume he will, it would mean he joins the team that he accused of destroying the independence of judiciary.Also, the very political party that vociferously opposed the ideas of giving post retirement jobs to top judges has nominated Gogoi (within 3 months of retirement) for Rajya Sabha (Don't say that the Government has nothing to do with this. We also know that President of India is a rubber stamp)Late Arun Jaitley had said the following.“Pre-retirement judgments are influenced by a desire for a post-retirement job,” Jaitley had said. “This clamour for post-retirement jobs is adversely affecting the impartiality of the judiciary of the country and time has come that it should come to an end…”[1]The ChronologyThe return gift.Anyway, I think this is a very small gift for a guy who buried Rafale Scam in sealed envelopes and handed over Ram Mandir verdict on a platter to the ruling party. Of course, his brother, Retd Air Marshal, Anjan Kumar Gogoi was nominated as a member of the North Easter Council for a period of three years in January 2020. I hope that adds to the reward and helps nepotism in the process.A total disgrace.I always thought CJI Deepak Mishra was the mole but turns out the mole was sitting in the press conference pretending to care about the freedom of judiciary. In fact, he pulled an elaborate deception on people with that press conference. It is a shame that everyone including I fell for his so-called courage. I will remember him at the most disappointing CJI ever because I had high expectations of him.Now he joins the ranks of the fallen like exCJI Ranganath Mishra and Justice M Hidayatullah, who were made MPs by the then Congress Government.Conclusion :It is not the first time that an exCJI has been appointed to Rajya Sabha. In fact, BJP is hardly at fault. It is just abusing the judiciary the same way Congress did. However, the most disappointing is the brazen behavior of judges. I don’t think it is possible for a person like me to ever become the Prime Minister of India. However, if I have to give advice to the Prime Minister of India for developing the country, I would request him to do the following:Make just and fair laws by ParliamentImplement the rule of law without any discriminationProvide equality to all citizens in the matter of education and jobsRespect and honour the Ministers, Chief Ministers and civil servantsAppoint honest and competent people on Constitutional positionsStop hatred and spread goodwill among peopleMaintain true honesty and integrity in words and deedsDecentralize the power and empower the citizensLiberalise trade and industries by minimizing rules, laws and proceduresListen to the grievances and suggestions of the citizensCreate job opportunities for the youthMaintain good relationships with all countries, particularly with neighboursReduce corruption in public life by providing rewards and incentive to the citizens who reports and provide information about corruptMake the judicial process simple and trials time boundMerit based selection and promotion of officials in civil servicesState funding of elections to stop use of black moneyExtensive use of information technology and Artificial Intelligence in governmentI am sure that if a PM takes all these steps, the full potential of the citizens can be realise and India can become a developed nation soon.
