This “leftist” has a problem with people who don’t understand the difference between straight news and opinion or analysis.Most newspapers try their utmost to present news stories without bias. Almost every paper does have an editorial page and a well-established editorial voice. However, almost every newspaper also has an op-ed page where both conservative and liberal columnists have their say.If you’re thinking of television journalism, MSNBC has more liberal than conservative talk show hosts—but they don’t pretend to be news anchors in the mold of Lester Holt, Brian Williams, and Tom Brokaw.Fox, though calling itself “Fair and Balanced,” was never a straight news network; rather, it was always a purveyor of conservative opinion. Since the death of Roger Ailes, liberal commentators have come forward to say that when they were invited on Fox shows for “Point/Counterpoint” type discussions, the conservative always had the literal last word.Now that Ailes is gone from Fox and gone from this Earth, Rupert Murdoch’s sons, reportedly less hidebound than their father, have decreed that the “Fair and Balanced” slogan is as dead as Ailes.

(A failing also common to Dick Cheney.)Also, up until now Trump vehemently denied all the charges of adultery that many women had raised, preferring to stonewall every single accusation.After the extensive testimony of both Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, it is now virtually certain that he lied about adultery. Many times. Only lately he’s started to shut up about it, because the evidence of his lying is so strong.Admittedly, Bill Clinton lied about adultery as well, but he never colluded with Russia or fired an FBI chief to obstruct justice.

Yes. Brian Williams likely had a morals clause in his contract that he is in violation of. There are also rumblings that he has lied about events surrounding his reporting on other occasions (most notably Hurricane Katrina).My prediction is that Williams never comes back to NBC Nightly News. During this six month suspension I suspect NBC brass will identify a successor (Lester Holt, Savannah Guthrie, etc.) and Williams never returns to air for the network.
