PDF Editor FAQ
How does a Filipino affect yourself?
This questions hits me pretty deep actually, and what frustrates me even more are the varieties of answers I’ve seen that I personally, have trouble coming to terms with, justifying personal experiences by attempts to justify themselves with a collective society grander than who they really are. Without a care.Honest answer, How does a Filipino affect yourself? What is it like being a Filipino??? Actually, Its pretty shit. Can’t identify anywhere, and I’m not too particularly proud of being identified as a Filipino either, but like any other individual in this world. I just accept it.An asian culture, so upside down that almost the only thing that provides any form of basis for a relationship for its membership in its direct geographical region is a small identical segment that of filial piety. The only thing commonly shared with the nations geographical neighbors, apart from stereotypical reference to consumed commodities. I emphasize on the key word ‘segment’, as the cultural application of filial piety in the country has been altered by Latin influences, reference to the Spanish colonization. (Which I think was a good thing actually).Which brings me to my next rant, so unique (more like unidentifiable) is the Filipino culture that its barely even Asian, from the way we create, the way we express, we have stronger familiarity with western culture, but not enough to identify ourselves as Asian, nor is Filipino stubbornness able to develop a consistency for us to even identify as a Latin country. Despite the majority of us bearing Latin family names. Sure one could argue the historical factors that would define the nation it is now, colonialism, whatever. The point I’m making here, is we ran into a bit of bad luck, (if you call it that, I actually think it was a good thing we were colonized, (another point for later)), lost out culture, adapted others, forgot ours, occupied by another nation-state, adapted that. Then we called it progress. Sweet beans. Now we have what we have.A culture of family cartelship, capitalist opportunism, with expressive communal set ups, which really is a mixing pot of all the rubbish that makes humanity. Wether we remain democratic, adopt socialism, or even revert back to hereditary rule. At the end of the day, we all aren’t worth saving for, we all aren’t worth dying for. The heroes taught about in schools all fought each other during the revolutionary era, and if you learn your history properly, the Philippines never had a proper independence, until the wake of the Second World War. Pre-Colonialism the region was divided by tribes, kingdoms, and clans, where almost every island was its own nation state. Now that I got the historical basis of my point out of my way let me get to the justification why the term ‘Filipino’ first of all is rubbish, and how second, why my belief that Filipinos have no additional claim to being better than any other race, neither does any other race have claim to better than another. This is just to build my point. The elephant in the room here are westerners marrying Filipino, generally speaking, the concept itself isn’t bad, the problem is the methods applied by western foreigners once the marriage is made. I am from an area in which market approaches and interaction were once conducted pridefully with minimal paper interaction, the concept of honor in ones word was highly praised within the community, and this was all ruined by both opportunistic Filipinos and Westerners. Adaptation of liberal values and further enforcement of judicial practices, made it impossible for those Filipinos whom are tied to old traditional roots to defend their rights to home and livelihood, through the implementation of westernization within that area. I know what I speak of here, is a pattern experienced all throughout the country. Westerners inflate land prices, reducing significantly local opportunity to invest, and develop. This pattern has been repeated over, and over again, island to island, until the economic system in the Philippines has reached the way it is today. For the record, my uncle is a Westerner, married my aunt, they have no children and they live outside of the country. The paint on the wall is the cartel mentality EVERY FILIPINO FAMILY HAS, that is the aspect that separates us with our ability to truly, uniform, assimilate, and integrate successfully within western countries. Not western enough to be content long term without turning into a dickhead Filipino, and not Asian enough to understand the principles and values of other Asian ethnicity. (Nation as a whole) Not even knowledgeable enough to rebuild international relationships with the Spanish nation state. Did you know that there was a point in VERY recent history in which a Spanish Diplomat had come to visit the country, and only went to two places? The Joke called Manila, and small city that still spoke Spanish. Filipinos in general can’t accept the terms that unity is what would really rebuild the country, at the cost of your individual aspirations, that is the price we face to really rebuild. We’re all so religious yet we all forgot how to love.We are competitive enough with each other that we take pride in being the ‘nice people’, seriously lets all stop lying to ourselves, everyone single one of us who HAS lived in the Philippines, know each others Dreadnaught like ability to fake each other out. So long as we get what we want, and we all blame, the government and corruption.I mean COME ON, if remittance is one of the highest contributing factors to the Philippines economic GNI, that already says a lot about the growth rate of the country, the financial intermediaries that support the financial system in which the government, and families depend on, and the countries overall ability to invest. Jesus Maria Josef (ay sos. I bet my money some filipino’s mind was just blown there, learn ur history u ignorant monkey) A smaller country like Hong Kong, for years by the way, had a stronger consumer purchasing power than anyone in the country did. The region of Mindanao alone would fit four of that Nation State within it! yet we encourage the Cartel mentality. Friend up the rich guy because they will take you places, suck up to the politician because you wont be touched, leave the country be an OFW because, your ideas, strategies, and innovations, will either just get stolen, and no one wants to invest into your brand new entrepreneurial revolutionary design. Its these pessimistic thoughts, that bring our country down. It brings the economic region down, and it brought me down. Filipino’s don’t understand how much weighs on their individual ability to really make a change, if I was asked what makes a filipino, I would say we are runners, we’re not cowards, we’re strong. We’re just selfish and if given the chance, we run away and let someone else deal with it.We disrespect our politicians, yet we hesitate to support those that really fight to make a change, even the ones that fought until their last dying breath, due to cancer. Instead, we made meme’s out of them. How brilliant us Filipino’s and Filipina’s are.I mean the president? yeah hes alright. I’m neither for nor against, he has the heart, and at least hes making the effort right. He brought 3% growth to economy right? Wopee hes great, let not mind the increasing foreign investment by our direct neighbor China, that’s not where the moneys coming from, its because the big man is knocking off left right and center, every corrupt bastard that ruins it for the rest of us. The best part is, our economy saw the results immediately! only magic could have done that, its a phenomenon greater than Japans economic post-war miracle! Hes so good, that he snobs the west in support to our geographic neighbor in the east, so lets all welcome Beijings financial sharks, and lets change our flag to the color red with a hammer and circle and a yellow star, and welcome the hidden dragon! Wo Shi Xi Huan Zhong Guo, wo ye ai zhong guo ren le! wo bu shi xi huan fei liu bin. Ta, bu hao fei liu bin ren. I’m getting ready, are you?? We elected a past governor and past mayor to deal with matters of International Relations, and what’s worse the administrative will, and surrounding shadow advisory are all obviously very pro-domestic interest, if not individual, while the shadow advisory has pockets deep enough to cross oceans. Fucking genius. Still poses the question, what we do after Duterte finishes his term? I know lets re-ellect the Aquino’s back in, because they sure helped the country out! Cory sure did a good job kicking out Marcus, and leasing off Nation-State Assets. Ninoy was just as good right? They have a good prominous name right? that should soooooooo be the basis of our collective decision making, ABS-CBN and GMA do make such a good job in keeping us informed, and well educated. Remember when Kuya Kim was the wildlife expert? he was so good he sounded just like wikipedia!I have met Chinese Filipinos, some full, some not, and individually and directly they are great people. Generous, very helpful, insightful, and they’re soo disciplined and hard working. I’m not too confident about the majorities general interest on the subject of domestic ethics and interests though, but meh, I’ve ranted this far enough, and the whole situation has reached this far enough anyway. I mean Filipino’s are smart people, they’re a country that would enable a Senator as Manny Pacquiao AND STILL consider him as a respectable man. While we all pay our taxes to let him BE a senator, and to cover the costs, lets get Beijing in on the action too. By the way if Paquiao really wanted to make a change, the dumbass should have just started up an NGO, expanded its ability to become an I-NGO, so maybe next time we get a massive typhoon like the one in Leyte, we actually don’t end up with donated foreign goods sent back, because a foreign NGO refuses to pay the import tax at the airport. Just before you have a go and call me a dumb ass because that system in NAIA no longer exists because of golden Duterte, kiss-my ass you ignorant monkey, name for me a household named domestic Filipino NGO, that doesn’t support victims through plastic bags of noodles and rice, with their name on it, and itsn’t run by the church. REFERENCE: Politicians and Celebrities. OH MY GOSH. Filipino celebrities, another breed of Cunt. Aaaaanyways, Sure one can argue that increased foreign investment means a potentialy better economy right? because we all know economics, all it takes is a 2L Bottle of Redhorse and we all have our PhD’s and its best to let the neighbors know about it too. Oh thats right, the country is fancy now, we drink Johnny Walkers. Oof. Import! The bling. Increasing foreign investment would DEFINATELY increase our GDP, or GNI, foreign investment would DEFINATELY enable us the chance to pump up our economy and increase our Per-Capita, the Call Center Industry really was the BEEEEEESSSSTTTT thing that happened to most middle-class working Filipinos. The west was SOO wrong about us, the laws of Macroeconomics does not apply to the Philippines, because us Filipino’s would reject the notion of it, because most of us praise our doctors, nurses, lawyers, pilots, OFW’s and Sailors. Needing to learn Economics is sooooooooooooo unimportant. Our cultural ability is sooo superhuman correct, we brought out K-12. PAL and Cebu Pac said it the past, the Philippines is a land of magic, its definitely more fun in the Philippines, I guarantee you that, the list of jokes goes on and on.Well if you made it this far, good for you, you’re probably someone who’s actually quite passionate about it, and if you find the above reference pretty vague you probably have yourself a bit to read on. Not that I’m telling you too, really Philippines? Filipino’s ABSOLUTELY CBF. Honestly the country is the BEST WORST example of Liberalism, if not Neo-Liberalism. Sure compare it other notorious capitalist states, but my argue against that it, WE get away with it. AND we ourselves get away with it. AND our culture shows it. I mean communist rebels in 2019? Their big boss lives in a country we cant even extradite, why would we even bother if we can’t even jail big overseas drug lords with known connections to the Triads.Seriously, it doesn’t take a genius to realize how degraded the Philippines and Filipino culture has become from its proud past, and where it is going now. KPop, the whole Jowa crap. It’s sad. What’s worse is the growing nostalgia of Filipino achievements that is driving what would be the future minds, into a mindframe of Ego, hubris, and uttermost Walter Mitty. We are either optimistically blind through an Individual lense, or collective pessimistic with individualistic aspirations. We’re neither really asian, nor would we be western, we objectify our Spanish heritage to the point we think we’re the only country that eats Menudo, and says the word pota, or cabajo for that matter. For an example; English: Horse, Spanish: Cabajo: Filipino Genius: Kabayo).Majority of us (99%) screw each other over, collect as much pussy or dick, blame someone else, self-expressive. Culturally egotistic in an attempt to identify ourselves to a collection that we just as easily despise or screw over, miserely, BUT BEST OF ALL we are all sooooooooooooo eithier indirectly or directly Woeful. I’m pretty sure there are people out there that would probably add to this list.To summarize all this, If you’re a Filipino who’s thinking yabang ang englishero neto, my response in two words. Globalizaiton Tae. Not all Filipino’s are this, but the harsh and honest truth is, most of us are capable of the change we need to make to solve all the problems. But we simply just refuse too, we keep thinking its bigger than us, when really its not.Instead deep inside we chose a path of oblivious ignorance, filled with ego, and are generally only self-concerned. Don’t lie to yourself, the bottom line, you shaped the decisions in your life based on those principles. Bahala na diyan diba?Seriously Filipino’s need to wake up, you either do make the change or you don’t. If you decide to run and migrate, just shut up. If You’ve chosen to leave, build your life there, stay there and grow. Don’t come back acting like your a member of Windsors, but if you do, don’t come back blind. Majority of us do. That’s the inspiration that causes the desperation to leave the country in the first place, how will it grow when the minds leave? All Filipino’s are responsible for everything related to the country, we just don’t care enough, and those that do, do it in the least effective way.We all forgot the principles that onced shaped us, what made us proud, what made us strong, and what made us deductive. We allowed ourselves to become sheep. Our religious in the end, were all actually pretty accurate. Being a Filipino, both affects nor does it affect. That concept is relative, but the externalities that contribute to my path in this life, all trace its sources to that country, and the people whom identify with it. It both advantages me, and disadvantages me. I’m just a humble statistic in this world, and the values I treasure are only mine, sure you can apply racism, you can consider discrimination, unequal opportunities. But my experiences taught me, what I know now, that means others can be lead to that inspiration too. It’s just a little effort to look beyond the ego of identity, to discover the universal connectivity, whilst realizing what it really is that stops it. Filipino’s we’re just placid.Every country, every nation, and almost every ethnicity, has that same problem.Just shut up, quit complaining, take a breath and just take the next step. We all have a choice to be a Nice Dick, or a Bad Samaritan. People just need to learn to love again internally, until the point that you’re so filled with it, you exert the surplus love externally. For the Westerners that chose to stay, sure you get taken advantage of, but you in return you take advantage of the conditions there too, and the fragility of the labor capital, weather knowledge based or not. Don’t justify your struggles, its no different than the others, and the problems you face were only developed by your predecessors and you’re simply just adding to the pot. You’re not the East-India Company, and you actually are not helping the local community, stop creating an industry of co-dependency. It does not stimulate the economy, nor the knowledge base labor capital.Credentials: Paid attention in class, and read books. Knows when to listen more than to talk, learnt languages, visited countries. Realized every ethnicity just wants to laugh. Learnt how to value effort, and shared it. Not stupid enough to give hints to sharks. But I do like economics and other fields tooNo political affiliations.Has a ReligionHates everyone equally, but chooses to love anyway. Because you’re all people are such cute little shits.RANT END
