The college scandal isn’t so much about gaming the system as it is about rigging the system. Children from wealthier backgrounds already have an advantage over their poorer peers. If you’re born into an upper class or upper-middle class family, you may live in a nice area where the public schools maybe among the best in the country. From the start in your K-12 education your school will be better funded, likely have smaller class sizes, and the teachers will be better equipped to educate their students. Not only that, wealthier families can afford to and will spend their money on: tutoring even when their kids aren’t struggling, so their grades remain high; SAT/ACT prep courses; and maybe even their own private college admissions counselors (not to be confused with what the admissions scandal is about, these counselors don’t help you cheat, but will give parents and students insight on how they should write college admissions essays, sports or clubs that’ll look good on an application, and what type of volunteer work a student should do to be admitted). Not only that but a student’s parents may have attended the elite school he/she is applying to and may even be donors at that school. If you’re parents are extremely wealthy, they can make very large donations to the school you plan on attending or they may have connections with board members and officers at the university that can put in a good word for you.All of this isn’t to say getting into an elite university is a slam dunk if you’re wealthy and all of these boxes check out, but the process is a lot easier if you have these advantages at your disposal. Simply put, poorer kids who may come from single parent households, and might be the first person in their family to attend college won’t have any of these advantages. To be clear, parents that do this are giving their children a leg up, but they are not cheating or doing anything illegal, hence they are gaming the system.The parents involved in the Varsity Blues or “college admissions scandal,” are paying off administrators and officials at the school in exchange for their children’s admission. Or in the alternative, they’re paying somebody to cheat on the SAT or ACT for them. But these things have been pretty much an open secret, students, parents, teachers, and schools have been all been caught in the past trying to cheat the system. Not only that, but this scandal is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to cheating. Parents have long been falsifying psychiatric reports to show their kids having learning disabilities so they can get extra time on exams, or students taking medications like adderall or Ritalin before exams.Here’s how the difference would play out, imagine there are four students, William Wealthy, Alan Average, Chris Cheater, and Paul Poor. Let’s also imagine they are top students with the same GPA’s and test scores all applying to Upper Crust University (“UCU”), but UCU only has two more seats left between these four. However, because Chris’ parents bribed a school official and cheated on the SAT’s/ACT’s, he’s guaranteed one of those seats. Now the contest comes down to William, Alan, and Paul. Although William might have all of the advantages I discussed above, his admission is not guaranteed, his application will still be decided on the merits just like the other two. Because Paul might come from an underprivileged background he may have a slight advantage over Alan Average, who grew up middle class. But any sympathy points admissions officers would’ve given Paul won’t give him the edge over William who’s a legacy applicant of parents that’re big donors, so William takes the other seat. However, that other seat Chris paid for could’ve gone to Alan or Paul if their applications were heard on the merits.

I believe they’re using arm processors, if all you really want is the hardware.ARM Cortex for ECU processors, or purchase the ucu.I’m going to jump to a conclusion you’re trying to read or work with the ecu on a pc.This is done all the time, mostly by “tuners” who claim they can give you more horsepower.They can, marginally, on a naturally aspirated engine, significantly on one with forced induction, you do need some coding knowledge if you want to read the ecu outright, if you’re interested in tuning, there are off programs you can just change mapping parameters, to be fair, those can easily miss some of those maps.No matter what a tuner tells you, there will be added wear and tear on the engine, you do void the warranty.I haven’t done it, I don’t have that knowledge set, but I’d guess you image the ecu and work from that image on your computer, you can even emulate.Auto ecu’s are different operating systems, using different file systems, they’re “real time”, the operating system in my my Bosche ecu is ERCOSek.ERCOSEK real-time operating system supports for automotive applications.You might even be able to purchase a licensed copy.Real time operating systems have everything in code loaded into rom, not certain, but there might be ram code for remapping driver specific parameters, for instance, if your engine is knocking, the ecu isn’t going to give you as aggressive timing advance until your gas demonstrates higher octane, these ecu's also adjust maps as it “learns” driver habits.Decompiling or reading the ecu is documented on the internet, I haven’t done it myself, if you want to backward engineer the ecu, or begin understanding what it’s doing for your car, it’s going to take some research, here’s a simple start for ya, go to the links with something similar to “reverse engineer” or “decode maps;how to decompile an ecuI’m told it becomes an addiction, though to be fair, try doing this on a good engine you’ll probably do some damage till you have an expert working knowledge, not only of engines in general, but each individual engine type you’re thinking about “tuning”I know my particular turbo, direct injection variable valve engine has some counter intuitive maps, where if a conventional map were used, I’d “knock” the engine into oblivion.The same would be true for a “vtec” naturally aspirated engine, there are two completely different cam models for these cars with a solenoid activated at a certain rpm and throttle loadI believe some newer generations can possibly vary cam models more than twice, not sure about that though, but obviously the sophistication behind mapping these engines might take a phd of sorts.Be careful, good luck
