Some of the most important things I have learned not to ignore when dating are some or more of the following. This list is not in order of importance.They suggest or encourage you to date other people in a very early stage. They do not mind if you do. This person is not looking for a romantic relationship with you. They are probably appreciating your company for their own benefit, maybe for sexual pleasure. Just get out and find somebody more mature.They belittle your feelings/viewpoints/interests for whatever reason, either intentionally or accidentally. They either are not capable of understanding your feelings/emotions, or they are not interested in them. In either case, do not let this person stay in your life. It will destroy you.A person’s past and their baggage. Everybody has their past and their experiences, and therefore their own baggage. And in my experience I have always tried to focus on how the person treats their past and how they relate to their past experiences. I always have the tendency to give somebody the benefit of the doubt, and this good-sounding trait has bitten me in the ass on several occasions. If somebody has too much issues and they are not focusing on fixing them, or they are stuck in their past for whatever reason - let them go. You will do yourself good.They talk about their ex. Or they compare you to their ex. This is a common - though not always sureproof- example that they are not over their past experience yet. Especially when they talk negatively about them; if they say they ‘hate’ them, for instance, they are definitely not over their ex - even when they say they are. Opposed to what most people think, hatred is not the opposite of love; indifference is the opposite of love.They say mean/rude/disrespectful things (to you, to others, or about other people) without realizing it. This is a major one and a dealbreaker, especially for those that are a bit more introverted and do not always have a reply ready and are therefore exposed to a barrage of mean comments when interacting with this person. What it comes down to is that some things you should not have to explain. If people are mean/rude/etc) to you or others and they do not realize that what they are saying is not right, just walk away. This is not an attractive trait. Just move on.They try to ‘claim’ you after just one date. A date is just a date. If a guy acts as though you’re “the one” after just one single date, he has too much issues and is too desperate to have a girlfriend. Think about this: if a guy/girl just settles for the first person that comes his/her way, what is the value of that? If you leave, they will have the same response to the next person. How important are you really to that person if they behave the same around every other person that comes their way? I’d rather be with somebody who is selective (i.e. having other options but actually choosing somebody and not choosing somebody else).They are overly negative and critical of everything. Not only of themselves but also of you, their lives, their friends, their behavior, the room that you are in. Just let them go.Even after having dated for a while, they refuse to introduce you to their friends and/or family.They have no job. This is not always a red flag, as there are individuals who have legitimate reasons for not having a job (such as a disease or other), but it is a red flag when you know that somebody is capable of working but chooses to leech off of government funds, friends, family or others without making any effort to do actual work themselves.They do not want to see you regularly (at least once a week). Yes, sure we’re all busy and we all have our lives to lead. After having dated for a while, however, you should not be the person he/she gets to meet once a month. If this is the person you will be with for a longer period, just seeing each other once a month is not enough to build a relationship. And if you are both in love, this would be unacceptable for both parties in any case. If they want to spend time with you, they want to spend time with you. If they do not, move on. Simple.The most important thing I can advise regarding dating and ‘red flags’ is to use your common sense. Not all red flags are red flags in all situations and vice versa. If something seems or sounds off, do not disregard that immediately. Also, do not instantly trust somebody. Look at what is there and the person you have in front of you, instead of an idea of associations you may (start to) have with them. Good luck!

Xe om riders sometimes can earn decent income if they are hard-working, good at multiple direction, skillful in small talks and lucky enough. However, in big cities these qualities are no longer a safe guarantee nowadays and xe om riders have a much harder time than in the past due to aggressive growth of modern means of transport, especially taxi (relatively become less expensive as people earn higher incomes) and buses. Life gets hard for those who have limited choice of their career.Generally, xe om riders are kind-hearted, talkative, industrious and respectful old men who work hard every day, do not care much about anything other than their children’s being able to obtain good education through to university or even higher. Given that fact, If they happened to offend you unintentionally (not much likely this will happen to you as a foreign traveller because xe om people are hospitable by nature), you may have second-thought about this before judging them.Xich lo rider–‘cyclo’ as in FrenchWidely banned in most city centre by the authority but favored by foreign tourists and culture loversCyclo was initially designed and brought to Saigon in 1939 by a French engineer. It has since then become popular for its modern yet still ancient look which brings people a refreshing experience which is otherwise not seen in other means of transport. Unlike xich lo in India or China which seat of passengers are placed behind the rider’s seat, Vietnamese xich lo has its passengers to sit in front of the rider. Let’s imagine the wind in your face and (sometimes, only in early morning or country side areas) very fresh air in your nose as the xich lo slowly move pass other people (who is gazing at you enviously) stuck in their well-conditioned and stuffy luxurious car.Since 2008, xich lo was officially reduced to a limited number, especially in city centers. The reason behind such policy is to clean up the city with more ‘modern and neat’ image. According to local government, xich lo is poorly-imaged and is likely to cause traffic accidents. This seems not reasonable to me as xich lo moves verly slow, so the only trouble it may cause is when they join the highways. But I have never seen a xich lo ever tried to carry people in such long distance that it needs to use highways. Instead, in city small and over-crowded centre, everybody must drive slowly. Given the fact that nobody move fast, it does not make any sense to me that xich lo poses potential threat of traffic accidents.The authority seemed not to care about the facts that:1) Such policy has been harming the xich lo riders’ job as local people gradually ignore xich lo as they do not find it convenient to constantly switch on and off a xich lo due to such city centre restriction.2) What should long-time xich lo riders do to earn a living if less and less local people use it and they had to quit eventually?3) Foreign travelers love xich lo and demand it as the only transportation they want for their trip yet local tour companies have to turn down this request many times due to shortage of xich lo supply. Many xich lo riders were trapped in bank debt as they lost their vehicle to the authority (a punishment for people who tried to ride in city centre) or had to reluctantly sell the vehicle and looked for another job.
