Hello All,Myself Devendra Singh Negi, Managing Director, Engineers Hub.Engineers Hub is a GATE training institute located at Dabagardens,VIZAG. At Engineers Hub I teach FLUID MECHANICS & THERMAL SCIENCES part of the Mechanical GATE Syllabus.If I discuss a little about myself I worked with JSPL for 5 years & did M. Tech. from IIT-B. I got married in 2018 & blessed with the baby boy in Oct 2018. Generally I was the lone person to take care of my wife & baby boy.In general During day time I am busy with daily classes of GATE or JEE MAIN & ADVANCED (Physics). Whenever I don’t have class I visit Nearby ENGINEERING COLLEGES for giving GATE exam awareness & conducting Seminars. In evening I used to sit at office for taking counseling for walk-ins & making sure that day to day activities are taking place smoothly.September 2018, application form of GATE-2019 was realsed. I informed this to my students & gave the tips to write the exam. One thought striked to my mind, whatever the advise I am giving to students upto what extant will it be useful. It is very easy to advise students in relaxed situation. I wanted to test the things in actual pressurized situation. This was the first spark which triggered the thought of writing GATE-2019 exam.After a lots of thinking I decided to write GATE-2019 with ENGINEERING SCIENCES (XE) paper with FLUID MECHANICS (FM) & THERMODYNAMICS (TD) as optional sections. General Aptitude (GA) & Engineering Mathematics (EM) are compulsory sections. The driving thought for this decision was that it will increase my knowledge level of the subjects, which I can share later on with the students.Now it was time excute the plan. As discussed earlier day & evening are generally busy for me, hence I decided to give slot of 3 hrs (10:00 pm to 01:00 am) everyday for self preparation. I sticked to the schedule religiously & still remember on the birth date of my baby boy also I followed the schedule. By the end of 01 Feb I was ready with complete FM & TD along with few topics of Engineering Mathematics. The satisfaction was I learnt so many new things.On 02 Feb I took leave from my day assignments & I invested my morning time with my son & booked the CAB for GATE-2019 exam centre (Digital ION- SHEELANAGAR, VIZAG) along with one of my student, who was having the same exam centre. We reached the exam centre by 01:00 pm. I found so many students of mine were having the same exam centre. I tried to calm down their anxiety & gave last minute tips. I was carrying two small tetra packs of ORS to quinch the thirst at last minute but gave them to two students of mine, as I felt they need it more than me.We entered the examination centre & were allotted the system for writing the exam. Exam started & I attempted the exam in the same pattern which I used to advise the students in class.Exam completed. I was satisfied with the attempt & took the AUTO directly for the office. Finished my office work & came back to home.IIT-M released the response sheet within 7 days & very soon they released the Answer Key also. I was not satisfied with answer key of one of the question (based on stagnation point for Rankine Half Body), so decided to contest the answer key & submitted my arguments on 22 Feb.13 March, I had Seminar at GITAM University, while returning to office (in afternoon) when I checked the website of GATE-2019, I found FINAL ANSWER KEYS of GATE-2019 were released by IIT-M. To my surprise my contest was successful & answer key of that perticular question was updated. I decided to come home instead of going office & thoroughly checked the answer key in order to evaluate my final marks. As per answer key I secured 62.67/70 in FM & TD & 73.67/100 in totality. I was satisfied with the performance as more or less I was able to prepare for 70 marks only.15 March, I was having GATE class for In-house program at GAYATRI VIDYA PARISHAD (A), Kommadi. With last experiences I was aware that result will come today, I checked the website during lunch break but till now result was not uploaded. I knew within 2–3 hours result will come, I kept my mobile on dias & whenever I was getting little time , I was refreshing the webpage of GATE-2019. Suddenly the moment came when there was error in loading the page & I announced to the class that result will come within 15 minutes but to my surprise result was available on next click. Result was showing All India Rank in this paper -1 , GATE Score-1,000. I announced the same to the students & gave break to last the claps of students.Two students to whom I gave the ORS they also qualified. G. Akhilesh, MVGR student secured AIR-346 (ME) & A. Buchi Raju,VISHNU student secured AIR-3377 (ME). From the same centre & same slot one more student of mine G. Sai Chaitanya, ANDHRA UNIVERSITY student secured AIR-892 (ME).Kindly note XE score is generally used for getting M. Tech. seat at IISc & IITs. I haven’t applied for for any such things as the sole purpose was something different.I suggest only one thing to the students, kindly give the sincere & continuous efforts to your GATE preparation, definitely you will learn something which will be helping you directly or indirectly in future.I wish ALL THE BEST to all the future GATE Aspirants.
